GABRIELS POV,
Gabriel hurries out of the castle, but he walks through the city first making sure no one is following him before heading to the Inn. When he walks into the Inn, Angus is already there. Gabriel looks around and the whole Inn is filled with people. Angus notices him coming in and nods to someone at the door, who locks it.
Angus stands on a table in the middle and scrapes his throat, “Welcome everyone, I called you here because you all represent parts of Dandion. With the disappearances and murders going on I felt it was time to inform you of something. I am here without permission of Lord Midas, and he will not agree with what I am about to tell you. I have been to the Sea Realm a few days ago and saw with my own eyes what Hades has done to it. There is not a building, or a living soul left. The Sea Realm is destroyed. You have been told that you are not in danger of the war with Hades, but this is false information. We are all in danger and the disappearances are just the start. We can share the same faith as the Sea Realm if we do nothing, there will be no city or people left.”
The people look shocked and all start to shout at the same time, Angus holds up his hand, “Let’s not start to panic and speak one at a time.”
One man stands up and says, “What about the ruling family? Do they not take it seriously or why aren’t they telling us this?”
Angus balls his fists, “He seems to think the best strategy is to stay neutral and the disappearances didn’t seem to shock him.”
A lot of people stick up their hands to talk but Gabriel walks to the table and stands next to Angus, “I just found out it is even worse than Angus and I thought. I went to Javier’s room and found a written agreement. The agreement states that the ruling family and 100 chosen nobilities will be safe if they do not interfere, however with the remaining people of Dandion Hades can do as he pleases.”
The people are silent for a moment from shock but then they burst out in anger. Angus takes the paper from Gabriel and his eyes become darker by the minute. “It is true,” he says.
The people aren’t listening anymore and shout to each other not knowing what to do with all this unfairness. Gabriel lets the room go dark and he makes a loud thunderclap go off. When the lights come back on all the people are staring at him with big eyes.
Gabriel says with a voice dripping with authority, “Now listen carefully. This deal that has been done is unfair, weak, and rotten. Your lives matter as much as the lives of nobility. However, panicking won’t do you or the rest of the people any good. We need to unite and make a plan if we want any chance of saving the people of Dandion. So go to the regions you are responsible for and spread the news. Be ready for when we give you a sign. When it is time for action we will strike, and we will strike hard but not thoughtless. Gives us some time to come up with a strategy and warn the innocent people in the castle.”
The people seem inspired by the speech Gabriel gave and slowly start clapping. Gabriel leans into Angus and says, “I have to go warn Julias and Luna. You should stay here and hear whether your people maybe have good ideas.”
Angus nods and pats him on the shoulder, “Thank you Gabriel for giving us courage and for believing we are worth saving.”
Gabriel smiles, “It was already in you Angus, you just needed someone to point it out.”
He walks out of the Inn and heads to the castle and, he immediately goes to Julias his room. Julias jumps up from his bed when Gabriel storms in.
“What’s wrong?” he asks while taking a knife from under his pillow.
Gabriel walks to him and gives him the letter, “This is wrong.”
Julias his eyes fly over the letter and his face becomes pale, “Fuck, we have to tell Luna. There is no way she knew about this.”
Gabriel nods, “It is a risk, but I agree with you that I think she is innocent in the matter.”
They quietly go to Luna’s room and knock on the door softly. Luna opens the door just a little bit and her voice trembles, “Who is there?”
“It is me Luna,” Julias says.
Luna immediately opens the door and looks at them surprised, “Julias? What are you doing here?”
Gabriel pushes everyone in her room and whispers, “Not here, inside.”
Luna quickly closes and locks the door and looks at them with big eyes. She is only wearing a tiny silver satin nightdress and nothing else. Julias hands her the letter and with a frown, Luna starts reading. The more she reads the more her hands start to tremble.
“I can’t believe this,” she says.
Gabriel replies softly, “I know that it is a lot to take in, but we need to handle it quickly. The people need a leader they trust, and love and I think you could be that person.”
She looks at him shocked, “Me a leader? And go up against my father, are you crazy?”
Julias takes her hands in his and looks her deep into her eyes, “Luna if there is anything I learned the last couple of days then it is that the people absolutely adore you. You also told me yourself that there are so many things you would like to see differently in the city. Your father doesn’t care about the people like you do.”
Luna stays silent and sighs, “I just can’t do anything drastic if I don’t know or my father knew about this. I mean his signature is not under this letter. He is still my father and I find it hard to believe he would do something like this. I want to confront him and ask. If he knew about this then I will take my responsibility in ensuring a better future for the people of Dandion.”
She takes one more sigh and straightens her posture, “This cannot wait I will talk to my father right now.”
“Do you want us to come with you?” Julias asks.
Luna shakes her head, “No I have to do this myself but please stay close just in case.”
LUNA’S POV
Luna walks to her father’s room with her heart beating in her chest. She has never confronted her father before, but she is done with being his submissive little princess. She storms into her father’s room without knocking and of course, he is in bed with several women. Her father immediately looks up shocked and shouts, “Luna what in the world are you doing?”
Luna holds her chin high and says with authority to the women, “Leave, I need to have a word with my father.”
The women don’t know how fast to get out probably happy that they can leave. Lord Midas starts to turn red and says angrily, “What on earth do you think you are doing?”
Luna walks to him and throws the letter on his bed, “Tell me you didn’t know about this.”
Lord Midas takes a quick glance at the letter and laughs relieved, “This is what all the fuss is about? Jezus, I thought you were going to tell me you are pregnant or something.”
Luna looks at him disgusted, “Excuse me? Letting our people get tortured and murdered by Hades is a small thing for you?”
Lord Midas rolls his eyes, “Luna dearest calm down. This is exactly why your pretty little head shouldn’t be involved in these kinds of matters. Women are just too fragile to grasp the bigger picture. It is a small sacrifice to make sure our line endures.”
Luna just looks at her father shocked. How did she never see what a monster he was? Lord Midas sees her shocked expression and quickly puts on a robe and walks to her, “Hush, hush my child no need to get all worked up. If you are worried about not having much to do, we will make sure there is enough entertainment and there will still be plenty of money for nice dresses.”
Luna backs away from her father, “You really don’t get it, do you? You disgust me.”
She turns around and quickly runs out of the room not knowing what to do with everything she feels right now. Tears well up in her eyes and just when she wants to walk out of the dark hallway someone pushes her behind a curtain in a dark corner. A strong, tall man pushes her against the wall, and from the scent of pepper and musk, she already knows it is Javier. She immediately feels her body freeze from fear when he pushes his body against hers to make sure she cannot leave.
“Naughty, Naughty, Naughty girl, going to daddy trying to turn him against me. I see you have had too much spare time so you could snoop around and stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.”
His voice becomes raspy, “However in a few days, you won’t have time for that anymore. You will just be here to please me every hour of the day.”
He strokes her face and lets his finger go over her lips. “Let me go!” Luna shouts and she bites on his finger as hard as she can.
Javier screams from pain but then hits her in her face with his fist. Luna cries it out and her head gets all blurry.
Javier immediately pushes her against the wall again and she can feel his hard erection against her leg. She feels his warm stinky breath in her ear when he whispers, “I think as a punishment I will take what is rightfully mine early.”
Luna’s head is still pounding too much to show any resistance when he starts kissing her neck and grabs her breast hard. She whimpers from pain but that only seems to turn him on more. He puts one hand around her neck and with his other hand, he moves her dress to the side so he can lick her breasts. She starts to sob but he just tightens the grip around her neck. His hand trails to her thighs and he grabs it hard before putting his fingers inside her with one rough movement. She gasps and his nasty voice sounds amused when he says, “You have been playing games with me, telling me you don’t want me but look at you now. Nipples are hard and as wet as a waterfall. You can’t lie to me now; you want me as much as I want you.”
Luna cries out, “No, no, no, no!”
Javier laughs, “Keep playing your games then I like it. You will scream my name when my big dick destroys your tight little cunt.”
He just starts to open up his pants when Luna hears footsteps running towards them.
“Get your filthy hands off her!” Julias shouts and he comes at Javier like an angry bull. In his hands, he has a knife, but Javier is much bigger and stronger than Julias. He hits the knife out of Julias his hand and his wrist make a cracking sound. Then he takes Julias his arm and throws his whole body over his shoulder before slamming him to the ground. Luna wants to run to him, but Javier punches her in her stomach, so she falls to the ground gasping for air.
Javier takes Julias by his throat and slams him against the wall. He puts both his hands on his throat and starts to choke Julias. Julias his face becomes blue, and Luna screams and cries, “JULIAS NO!”
Then it seems like all the light leaves the room and big claps of thunder are all around her. She looks up to see Gabriel standing there with an aura of darkness around him. His eyes seem to light up in the dark and lightning emerges around him, Luna has never seen him so scary and powerful before. His gaze falls on Javier and, his voice thunders through the room, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
