NOELLE’S POV,
I throw the spear of ice right into the eye of the eel and with a big shriek, it falls on the ground. The dark humans jump off and run towards us.
The warriors meet them, and a bloody fight begins. I can’t really use a big blast of magic because I would also hit our own warriors. So, I join them and fight with a blade that I made from ice. I kill 3 dark humans but then I see in the distance a big eel running towards Faith. I run to her and throw myself in front of her. I open my arms think of Gabriel and blind the eel with a blast of light. The eel rushes past us trying to escape from the light. Then he gives a loud shriek 3 times and stands still watching me from a distance. All the other eels hold up their heads when they hear the shriek and then come running towards me. Crushing more people and buildings in their path. It must be at least 30 big eels coming towards me from all directions.
I can hear Faith whimper from fear and from the corner of my eye I can see Gabriel run towards me, but I have no time to wait for him. I close my eyes for one second and channel my anger. When I open my eyes, my hands are crackling with electricity and lightning. I let a big bolt hit the eel closest to me and he falls down dead immediately. The other eels shriek from anger and pick up their tempo. I won’t be able to hit them all at once and the dark humans riding the eels jump off to attack from the ground as well. Luckily Nolan and Julias come running with their armies to help.
I start channeling lightning again, but I feel someone take my hand. It’s Gabriel and I can hear him in my head, “Let’s do this together.”
I can feel his magic feel at mine, and I let it enter me. Our magic flows through both our veins connecting. I open my eyes and look at the monsters. Gabriel and I both hold out our other hands and lightning comes from us in all directions now.
“AAAAAAAAAHHHH,” we both scream in anger to feed the lightning. Every single bolt hits one of the eels and all of them drop dead. I let go of Gabriel’s hand and we are both panting. I jump around his neck and kiss him on his cheek, “You are amazing you know that.”
Gabriel chuckles and then quickly runs to help Nolan. My happiness is short-lived when I see that our troupes are outnumbered. All of a sudden, I get an idea, so I run to Nolan.
“Nolan!”, I shout. Nolan looks up annoyed taking his blade out off a dark human’s neck and shouts back, “What is it, Noelle? I am kind of busy.”
I run to him and say, “I have an idea. Retreat your forces and build a human wall forcing the dark humans to all stand together. I will take care of the rest.”
Nolan looks doubtful but says, “Don’t know how you think that’s going to help but I trust you.”
I quickly run off to find Ella and the water magicians and together we run to a spot where we can see the battle. I put everyone in position and tell them we are going to make a vortex together and drown all the dark humans.
But one moment I am standing and the next moment I get swooped from the floor by a big eel tail. One of the eels must have survived. It throws me through the air, and I land too far away to help Ella and the others. The eel crushes and eats most of the magicians until it’s just Ella standing there. I get up and run there but before I can reach her, she sliced off the eel’s tail and in his last act of anger he bites off Ella’s head.
“Nooooo!” I scream but the eel drops dead next to Ella’s mutilated body. I don’t even have time to cry because I see that Nolan managed to get all the dark humans together like a herd of sheep. I quickly take my position and take a deep breath. It was a plan designed on 6 magicians at least not 1. But I have to try, nonetheless.
I take a deep breath and picture a massive vortex swirling all the dark humans in its touch. One by one they plucked off the ground and sucked into the vortex. I feel the magic coming up and in the middle of the group dark humans, a vortex starts to emerge. It grows bigger and bigger sucking them all in. It doesn’t take me long to make a big enough vortex to trap all the dark humans. The hard part is keeping it steady with all the fighting dark humans long enough for them to drown. I can feel the resistance push against my magic, and I slowly start to lose control. I grunt but I can’t hold it on my own. Some dark humans manage to stick out their heads to gasp for air. Then suddenly I feel the magic stabilize again and all the dark humans get sucked back into the vortex. I look next to me and there he stands King Roan. He holds out his hands and helps me keep the vortex under control. After a while, the resistance becomes lower and lower until there is none at all. I drop my hands and the vortex disappears dropping all the dead dark humans on the bottom of the sea. Everyone in the army starts to cheer but only seconds later the sea bottom starts to rumble and splits open. Lava boils up everywhere and I hear someone scream, “IT’S DEMONS!”
