Bane’s POV
“Where is the maiden!!!!!” I thundered at Mikel who had sweat all over his face, his body shivering as he kept opening and closing his mouth without saying any word,
It has been up to two hours since I sent for the lady who knew where Lillian and my child was, the lady who gave me hope and reason to smile, I couldn’t sleep well last night because I was thinking of meeting Lillian finally, words can’t explain how elated I was when I woke up to find out it was morning already.
The first thing I did was to order for her to come over immediately, I had been all smiles waiting for her not until I heard she was missing, I was never going to believe that but after two hours without seeing her, my heart won’t stop thumping at the nightmare becoming reality.
Just when I was thinking of meeting my heartbeat and child, all this rose from nowhere, I can’t even tell if the child should be a boy or girl…
“Mikel, go out there…and bring her in, she is the only person I want to see, no one else, even if she doesn’t want to see me out of fear or anything, let her tell the location, no matter where it is, I’ll go there!” My voice went from high to low, I’m confused, at this point I regret not forcing her to say it last night.
I was stupid!
“I think she ran away to hide the truth from you, she must have promised Lillian never to tell you and she wants to keep her promise so she ran away!” Mikel suggested and I threw a sharp look at him as his words struck me hard.
It was the truth and I have never thought of that, the woman has taken the rail of leaving instead of spiting the truth to me.
‘”but there is no way a Weredragon can ever leave out from this territory except someone with greater power helps her!” I huffed thoughtfully.
“I’m also confused at how she left, I’m sure she isn’t anywhere around here, the guards had ransacked the whole place!” He sighed.
“Someone helped her to leave or she got the power to break the restrain” I hissed feeling sad that she wasn’t found like for real, she wasn’t found at the very moment when she should tell me what I had longed to hear, but why would she do this to me knowing how much I love Lillian.
“We would keep searching, I don’t know how she left, she must be very loyal to Lillian” he sighed.
“Go and search for her, she must be found, if she isn’t seen in the clan, then I would personally scour for her everywhere outside the territory!” I gruffed with a hiss.
He bowed and left, I lay back to the bed hissing continuously, just then the door opened and I sat up to see the Beta Jake.
“Have you seen that maiden who knew where my child is, she also knows where Lillian is, have you caught a glimpse of her this morning?” I asked abruptly while he made a shrug sitting on the couch over there.
“You made a huge mistake of allowing her to go back last night, you should have forced the answer from her as that was your last chance, she is gone and would never return here!” He stated leaving me shuddering.
“What do you mean?” I huffed getting angry at how pessimistic he was,
“What I meant is, forget about her or Lillian because I don’t think there is hope anymore, we have lost the last chance of finding the truth” he breathed.
“Jake!!!” I yelled his name raising my brow in exasperation.
“What?” He responded with an arched brow.
“Why do you sound so negative, how sure are you that we won’t find her?…what sort of word are you using!” I scowled and he chuckled.
“Well, I think I should tell you since you are unaware…” He paused and shrugged.
“What the fuck are you saying!” I scoffed.
“Okay, I’m sorry for the way I sounded, it was because I felt so bad at what I saw yesterday, I wished there was a way to stop it but the speed was so much” he muttered.
“What speed?” I questioned.
“Lillian took her away after knowing you might force the secret out of her, last night, I saw her take the woman away!” He said leaving my jaw dropped as I stared with a popped eyeball, my gaze was on his face as I waited patiently for him to smile and tell me it was one of his random jokes.
I waited but yet his face was still grim and stern, he looked damn serious.
“You said you saw Lillian take the woman away?…how?” I asked with a deep breath.
“I was shocked to the bone marrow before I could try to stop them, she was gone already and…I think Lillian don’t want to have anything to do with you for real, the last thing she would want is for you to find her or the child, that must be why she came here to take the woman away” he sighed and I felt my heart shred in pain.
This was the fear I was never going to accept, Lillian doesn’t hate me and wants to meet me, it can’t be that she doesn’t want me to meet her, but if Jake was saying the truth, then, it means Lillian hates me!
But why?
“I guess you should not let Lillian trouble you, there is a lot on your table, you have the dragon clan to take care of, let Lillian be!” He said and I made a short laugh.
“You can leave, I want to be alone!” I ordered and he left immediately.
As much as I want to doubt his words, it was the only hypothesis to tell why Mariam the maiden is missing this morning.
Lillian has the power to come and leave here without anyone finding out, it was part of the power I gave to her when we were in love, never knew she would use it against me.
Why does she hate me!!!!!!
What was my crime?…after so many years, she was not going to return to me!!!
Hit tears warmed in my eyes, the thought of never finding Lillian was shattering my heart, just now when I thought there was hope, everything became messed up!
I hissed and shut my eyes allowing the memories I shared with Lilian to take over my mind.

Mariam’s POV
I had been running for hours and had finally paused to catch some breath, I badly needed rest before I lose my breath, I had been running out of fear knowing my life would be terrible if someway somehow, Bane finds me.
Not just for Jake threat but that of Bane would be more terrible, he would conclude I lied and trick him.
It was morning already, I had run all through the night and was feeling hot,
Just the moment I sat down to take some rest and enjoy the cool breeze, my nostril got a strong scent, a scent of a demon, the type that makes every creature tremble,
My brow arched as I looked around trying to trace where the hell it was emanating from, I began to walk closer to where I guess the scent came from,
My eyes widened at what I saw, it was like I was having an illusion, I don’t want to believe my eyes but the more I pinch myself, the more I get to find out it was happening for real.
The woman standing right in front of me was Elf, the same woman who caused Lillian all the terror she had gone through, the very reason why Lillian ran away from Bane, I have heard some rumour that Elf joined the demon clan but I never believed, Lillian told me a demon attacked her while she was pregnant.
It was after that, she stopped talking to me, the tie was severed, I won’t have believed Elf had turned to a Demon if I hadn’t seen her with the demon king, she was with the Demon King and they were hugging tightly.
I was transfixed as the reality dawned on me, the demon who attacked Lillian while she was pregnant is Elf, she is the only woman who had a deep hatred for her,
The scent of the Demons was also emitting from her body, I swallowed the lump in my throat as my fear began to dawn on me, Lillian might have been dead, killed by Elf!

Elf’s POV.
I was so elated that I won’t stop running, I badly want to get back to the pack and end it all, Elena and Jason caged into the room was going to make me rule over the Pack,
I can’t wait to laugh at them, just when they thought they have won me, I was going to strike back unexpectedly, my threats were gone,
Damon should wait for me, he was also going to face his death when I’m done with the Silver Moon Pack, with the help of Bane, I will kill him.
With the face of Lillian, I’ll tell Bane that Damon had caged and tortured me for all these years, he would kill him angrily and ruthlessly.
No one can ever stop me from winning!
Finally, after some minutes, I was right inside the pack, my face was full of smiles, the joy of winning was making me go crazy, I would keep laughing at myself,
I walked straight into the Royal Packhouse which was silent except for the banging sound, I smirked knowing where it must be coming from, Elena and Jason must have found out they were never going to come out.
“The Luna is back!!!” An announcement was made immediately I got into the sitting room, The Alpha walked down the stairs followed by other members, like the Beta, Gamma their mates and the head warriors,
My eyes went to each of them with a smug look,
“Elf, what is happening?… I don’t understand anymore, tell me what is happening inside this packhouse?” Darren asked with his tone exuding pain and confusion, his expression showing how hopeless he was.
“Elf…Elena and Jason can’t leave that room, the door locked them in there all of a sudden, no one knows how it happened, the key lock is strange.” He muttered with a deep sigh as he slumped on the couch.
“Get up from that couch now!” I ordered with a glare leaving them all shocked, Darren was more shocked at how I three the order at him.
“What are you saying?…and you got to explain to us how you got the dark magic of the demon which enabled you to disappear, no werewolf can do that except they are a demon!!!” He howled and I burst into laughter leaving them more confused.
“How dare you laugh at the Alpha?…have you gone nut?… apologize now!” The Beta yelled at me and I swung my hand over the air causing a huge force that hit his cheek like a slap making him fall heavily on the floor…
The others took the stance to fight me and I giggled at the weaklings especially the Alpha who was the weakest of them all, he could only stare in deep thought.
“Allow your Alpha to fight me!” I shunned them all turning my gaze to him,
“Do you know what you are saying?…do you want to die???” The Gamma thundered angrily and I hissed walking closer to the Alpha who was speechless.
“If you don’t stand up from that couch, I’ll kill you!” I huffed and he flinched, everyone darted their gaze at him wondering what was happening, they must be wondering why he isn’t fighting back, why he isn’t yelling threat, why he was all dumb without retorting at me.
They can’t see he was already a weakly, my pauper I guess…
“At the count of three, get up there if you don’t want to lose your miserable life!” I gruffed and he shut his eyes taking a deep breath that showers her heartbroken he was, but I don’t care, I’m here to destroy everything Lillian has including him.
“You will regret this when the Alpha loses his patience!” The Beta’s Mate said to me and I muffled some laughter,
“1…2…”
“I’m up!” The voice of the Alpha resounded and everyone gasped in great shock while I smirk,
“You all should follow me to the hall!” I ordered and they were reluctant not until the Alpha took the lead…
I won’t stop smiling at myself feeling glee,
“Don’t dare to question her order!” I heard Darren warn them,
“What are you saying?… this lady is your mate, you should be possessive over her, deal with her for ordering you around!!” The Gamma howled.
“We can’t do anything to her, absolutely nothing and mind you, she isn’t my mate, she is a demon!” He stated and I chuckled.
He had known but it is late already!
