In my posture, I could see the cops wide-eyed, perplexed. It’s very normal for werewolves to wander around barely, but it’s startling for humans.

Officers, Catriona shouted. Don’t jump to conclusions. She whisper-yelled. A small smile appeared on my face when she yelled in their faces trying to clear the misunderstanding. If you aren’t playing mature games, then you have to let us inside the house to make sure that whatever is in your house will not interfere in your neighbors’ peace of mind. The officer said.

I promise we’ll behave. Gabriel said. Catriona trailed her eyes downward on Gabriel’s now hard bulge. Christ, what’s with Gabe? I murmured.
Oh Lord, Catriona whisper-shouted and slammed the door shut astonished. I’m very sorry officers for slamming the door in your faces but everything is fine here. She said brokenly her forehead pressed on the door.

Catriona spun around and ambled forward over to Gabe with tears coming out of her eyes. Before I could tell Gabe to leave the house, Catriona tiptoed on her feet and slapped him in the face. I cringed at the sound of the slap and at the same time surprised that she actually slapped him. Gabriel didn’t flinch or show any sign of effect of the slap and I wasn’t surprised because a mere slap, especially a human slap cannot affect a strong werewolf alpha like Gabe. I immediately pulled Catriona behind me protecting her from him because I know what he does to people that disrespect him. That includes women. And I am not allowing it. I was waiting and ready for the worst to come from him but was surprised when he smiled mildly at her.

She came back with my clothes and grabbed her family photo from the floor and went with it in one of the rooms. I called the cleaning service and bought some of the other new house stuff online, of the things we broke and ruined. Catriona came back with a small backpack and we headed outside. I saw some of the people peering out through their windows when they saw us Walking toward the car. I blocked Catriona with my body from averting her eyes to them. I don’t know why I did so but I felt like it would break her if she saw them staring at us through their windows. Had those stupid cops already spreads the fake rumors?
I opened the door for her to enter. I told her to turn on the radio and search for any fun program. I did that to keep her focused on something from seeing those people’s gazes. When I started the car I saw them through the side mirror rushing out of their houses murmuring to each other. I’m dying to ask Catriona about the story behind it all but refrained myself. She was busy with the radio buttons pressing them mercilessly. She finally gave up and turned it off. Why did you turn it off? I asked. There’s nothing fun at this time. She said and went silent staring out.

Catriona’s screams were making it worse and very hard for me to concentrate on balancing it. Please lord, let anything happen to me but not her. She went through so much already. After what felt forever it came to a stop, crushing on a big rock. Smoke started coming out of it and I smelled gasoline. I have to get Catriona out of the car before it catches fire.
