“What’s happening?” Brienne asked, still holding the crown.
“Freyren Brienne, someone wants to come up the stage!” One of the soldiers reported. “We are trying to capture him but he’s quick.”
I stood up and tried to move closer to the commotion but ermash stopped me. Instantly, we were encased inside the small circle the soldiers/guardians made out of their bodies.
“Stay where you are, Freyren. They might be those people who want to take over the kingdom.” Juval spoke when I tried to escape.
“Ri!” I heard my name called. “Ri!” My heart jumped when I recognized the voice.
“Gab!” I shouted.
“He’s here! He’s here!” Cassy celebrated inside me.
I can’t help but smile. Then I stopped. How did he get here? Shaking my head, I decided to meet him.
“Let me out!” I ordered.
“But, Freyren -,” Juval protested.
“I am safe with him.”
He nodded and let me out.
I ran to where Gab is. I saw him being held by the soldiers.
“Let him go!” I ordered the guardians and released Gab.
He ran towards me and I met him.
I don’t know who did it first but I found myself imprisoned in his arms. I let my tears fall. I felt my heart warmed to his embrace.
I broke away from his hug and looked at him in his eyes. I then captured his face in both hands.
Touching his hair, I spoke softly. “You’re here! But how? Why? What about your pack? What happened -,” I was cut off with my series of questions when he put his finger on my lips to silence me.
“You’re here. I guess that’s enough reason why I should be here!” he said softly and intently while looking at me and my heart melted hearing those lines. He stared at me that I almost got drowned in his eyes. He wiped my tears. I forgot I was crying.
Then, without another word, he kissed me in front of the entire Fraeian people.
“I love you, Ri.” He said when he let go of my lips. “I know you don’t want me to make sacrifices but I want to. I can’t let you suffer. I’d rather do it for you.”
“No, Gab. I can’t let you choose. I know you love your pack!”
“Yes, I love my pack but I love you more, Ri. I can’t live without you and I can’t do my work as alpha because I can’t stop thinking of you!
So, I did the right thing I think of. I asked Jam to take over and be the new alpha. He was hesitant at first but agreed eventually.” I saw him smiled back at me.
“I love you, Ri, and if you will have me, I will stay here as long as you want me.”
“Of course, Gab. I can’t live my life without you. I may be here, but I am not alive. I love you, Gab, so much!”
“Thank you, Ri. And I love you, more!” With that said, he hugged me once again.
“But how -, how did you get here? How did you know the gates of Fraeia?” I said as he let me go.
He grinned at me before enveloping me in another hug. He seems to do that often. He put his lips on my ear and whispered, “Red and Eana.”
I smiled and broke away from him. I ignored his shocked look as I walked towards Kuya Red and Eana. I hugged them both before saying, “Thank you.”
“Always!” Kuya Red spoke.
“I want you to be happy too.” Eana whispered to me too.
I went back to Gab and once again, my tears fell, this time, because of happiness.
After settling the commotion, I went back to the throne and sat down on it. Gab was behind me, holding my hands.
“Let us continue with the ceremony!” Ermash Brienne spoke out loud and the people got silent.
“I, Freyren Brienne, Fraeia’s second quadrelemental empress, now crown you, Rianne, the third quadrelemental empress of Fraeia!” She said and this time, put the crown on my head.
Surprisingly, Ermash Brienne then showed a sparkling orb about the size of a tennis ball and walked towards Gab.
“This is the symbol of Fraeia! Take care of this as you take good care the Fraeia’s life, Rianne!”
I saw the surprise in his eyes and confusion displayed in his face.
Ermash Brienne smiled. “Why not? You are our Ri’s mate, that makes you our Freyra, our new emperor!” She said as if reading Gab’s mind.
Gab gasped and looked at me. I smiled at him and nodded.
He turned to Ermash Brienne and accepted the orb.
“Thank you for entrusting Ri to me.” he said sincerely, making my heart melt.
To my surprise, I saw a drop of tear from his eyes.
Ermash Brienne turned to the people and said, “Fraeia, your new Freyren and Freyra Azalkra and Fraeia!” The people cheered so loud we could not hear even if Ermash shouted for me to go to the gazebo.
The cheer died out when I stood up and went to the gazebo.
“Ri, today, I entrust unto you, the power, the life of Fraeia,” she said. “This will not be easy, Ri. You will be tested, for the last time. But I know you can do it!”
Putting her hands in front of her chest, she spoke, “Estch hagashte oh Heyrdro, Gaea, Frien, ashHashbar, elersea rylgoshem fro osh swalsh!”
As soon as she said it, a sparkling crystal orb, about the size of volleyball, came out and formed.
I prepared myself to accept it. And when it touched my hands, I felt cold, hot and drowned. I remained strong and standing while the orb slowly got inside my body. I felt like getting weak but I fought against it.
When the orb totally got inside my body, everything changed. I felt my power getting stronger.
I smiled to the people as we walked back to the thrones.
“Fraeia, our new Freyren!” she looked at me. “Do you have anything to say to your subjects?”
I nodded.
“Hello everyone. First, I would like to thank you all for coming here and witness this ceremony. I promise to take care of Fraeia and be a good pillar to this world.
I know I am still young, but I will do everything to be the empress you all deserve to have. Thank you!”
I walked back to my mate but not before letting the skies shower with snowflakes and with different petals!
Later that night, at the garden of Azalkra, we gathered to say goodbye to our Mashems and Ermash Brienne.
“It’s time for us to rest.” Siren said.
“We’ve done our jobs here!” Vine followed.
“Now, we are at peace because we know, our kingdoms are in great hands!” Igni spoke.
“And we know, you will take good care of one another! Goodbye my loves.” Aerea said as tears rolled down her eyes.
The mashems kissed us one by one.
“I will always be at your back.” Ermash spoke to me. “You can always talk to me, even if I am not here. Take care always, babe. I love you!” she said before kissing me. She turned to Gab. “Take care of her!”
“I will!”
As soon as they vanished, we went back inside. I breathed deeply and went directly to our room, Gab following me.
“I want to rest! Damn, I am so tired!” I exclaimed as I threw myself on to my bed.
Gab lay down on his back beside me. He turned so he would face me.
“So,” he said and I saw the lustful look in his eyes as he gave me a playful smile. “Are you going to sleep?” he asked while running his fingers on my arms.
I flinched as I felt the tingles erupting and my lower part throbbed with just his touch!
“Y – yes.” I stammered.
“What was it?” he asked again, this time, kissing my neck.
It took all my powers to resist him. I stood up and looked at him.
I gave him a playful smile. “Yes!” I saw his surprised look.
“Do you think you can get me that easily? You have to pay for it.”
“And how do you think will I do that?” he asked.
Smiling, I said, “In a traditional Filipino way. You start by courting.”
“And how will I do that?” he asked again.
“Simple, babe, just be resourceful.” I winked before I got inside the bathroom and took my bath.
This is just the start of our new life in Fraeia.
Who would have thought that after being rejected, I would end up with my mate? And I guess, no matter how bad happens to us; something good will come and bring us happiness.
After all, we have our family with us!
