RI
“Hello?” I heard his voice over the phone. “Gab? This is Rianne!”
I heard him grunt. He has not talked to me since the day of the meeting. He did not believe that his dad stayed at the cave.
“I would just like to ask a favor.” I continued. “My brothers and their mates are outside the territory. We would like to ask permission to get through so they can proceed to the house.”
“Okay!” he answered coldly.
“And Gab?” I added before he could cut the call off. “I know you don’t believe me. But please take care of yourself.” He did not talk but instead, I heard the busy tone. I was cut off.
“Okay, Kuyas, you got the permission.” I called to our mind link and went out of the house to meet them. While waiting for them, I felt someone observing me.
I took a sit on the porch and closed my eyes, letting my wolf find the intruder.
I saw him in his human form staying on a tree branch.
Softly, I whispered. “Ichbi oh hashbhar, zhara bhoash oth rech-tho osh ouesh ash bokh dashed eamn fro eehs rosh reagf et-haenya.” (Spirit of the wind, provide a blanket to cover our home and block unwanted men to see or hear anything.)
I then felt the cold wind to come down. The smog-like wind enveloped our home.
A few more minutes, I saw my siblings coming and passed through the barrier.
“We’re here!” Rochie called out. We gave each other hugs especially my sisters Bianca, AC and Chaunelle.
“Welcome to America, Sissies!” Eana and I greeted together.
“Hey, little sis!” Drew drew me into a hug.
“Hey, Kuya!” I hugged back then broke away from him.
We led them all inside the house. I also caught a glimpse of the man walking towards the house when it was stopped.
I saw the confusion in his face seeing that he can’t clearly see nor hear anything from the house. I heard him curse under his breath with my heightened hearing.
We proceeded to Dad’s old office.
“So, what’s the plan?” Kuya Drey asked me when we were all settled inside.
“We are going tonight!” I answered in a serious tone, telling them that I don’t want any complaints or violent reactions. “The sprosk is at its strongest tonight and there might be a chance that it could totally break its shell.”
“What I can’t understand is how the shell started to break? I don’t believe it’s just a sprosk’s work. Someone might have tried to break it!” Bianca said.
“I don’t think it’s the rogues doing!” AC added.
“Me, either!” Chaunelle said.
I looked at them then to my Kuyas.
“You know what is about to happen, right?” I saw them nod. “You all know that we have to do this. So please Kuyas, control your wolf and let your vhroeghltash out tonight and be in control. We need you to prevent rogues from getting near us while we fight the sprosk.” I saw fear displayed in their eyes; not for themselves but for their mates. I felt a little jealous with their reactions. If only my mate is like them.
“Vhroeghltash,” (Alter ego. A/N: read as vroyltash) I spoke in my empress tone. “Shogh hagashte eth denne uhm. Tokhemo ash zhara hagara hagashte oth fedee-acksh sprosk!” (Your power is much needed tonight. Come out and provide us power to defeat the sprosk!)
Suddenly, the eyes of my sisters and brothers changed into rainbow eyes, the eyes of the Fraeian royal family. A few more minutes and I faced the vhroeghltash of my siblings.
Bowing in front of me, they said altogether. “Hyash, Freyren!”
I nodded and asked them to stand up.
“Am I understood?”
“Hyash, Freyren!” This time, there eyes are back to their usual color.
We spent the rest of the day talking and catching up.
It was late in the afternoon, while everyone was busy preparing, when I felt my phone vibrated.
Grabbing it, I put it on my ear and said, “Hello?”
“Ri!” my heart jumped hearing his voice.
“G-Gab?” I stammered. I took a deep breath.
“Can we talk?” I did not answer instead, I looked at my brothers. “Just a few minutes. I’m here outside.”
I immediately walked outside never minding the calling of my brothers. I ran to the door and went out. I saw him on the porch. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. I broke away and looked at him. He looked so tired.
“Ri.” He said holding my face in his hands. “I know that I don’t have the right to say this but please. I’m asking you. Don’t go!”
I held his face in my hands and looked at him intently. “I’m sorry Gab. This is what I am born for. I have to do this or you and the rest of our kind will be in danger. I can’t let it happen, Gab. I can’t let my friends and family be in danger just because my mate asked me.” I let his face go and gave him a smile. “Besides, my sisters are with me in fighting the sprosk and I have my brothers with us to protect us.”
“And Juno!” He said and a growl escaped his throat.
I smiled at him. “Yes. And Juno.” His face frowned. “Oh, is the alpha jealous?” I giggled. His arms snaked around my waist.
“I’ll let you go!” I tried to speak but he stopped me. “Only if I go with you!”
Horror displayed in my face. “No, Gab! You can’t control your wolf. If matter comes to worst, you might not be able to stop Keifer from going to me.”
“I will try, Ri. But please, let me go with you.”
“I don’t know Gab!” I said shaking my head.
“Ri!” He called out my name. I looked at him and was shocked to see his eyes. Silvery-gold eyes.
“You–,” I stammered. “You have a vhroeghltash!” His eyes suddenly went back to his usual color and looked at me.
“A what?!” I did not hear him asked. I was busy thinking how he had a Fraeian alter ego.
After a while, I grabbed his hand and led him to Dad’s office. I called my siblings on the way there, too.
As soon as we are gathered, I turned into my “empress” mode and looked at Gab.
“Tho sho? Ash nerya sho for?” (Who are you? And from what kingdom are you from?)
Gab’s eyes turned to silvery-gold once again. Meaning his vhroeghltash (alter ego) is out.
“Ghevroh! Ish for nash nerya.” (Ghevroh! I’m from no kingdom.) I heard gasps from my siblings.
“Tho shogh dlesresh? Sharep sho orbihan?” (Who are your ancestors? Where were you born?)
“Gaea!” (Earth!)
I sat on the nearest seat I was able to hold. This is it! I sighed at the newest discovery I just had uncovered.
Damn!
We gathered in our living room, a few minutes before we leave.
“Juno!” I called out to him. Minutes passed and still, he hasn’t showed. “Juno!” Still no sign of him.
“Maybe he’s already waiting for us there, Freyren.” Eana said and I nodded.
Looking at them all prepared, I ordered in my royal tone. “Tokhemo vhroeghltash!”
By and by, I saw my siblings powers wrapped them and in a second, their clothes changed into Fraeian battle suit and their eyes, in rainbow.
Same thing happened to Gab except for his eye color.
I also changed into my battle suit and let Ardessa out. This is my name in Fraeia.
Before we leave, I ordered Gab’s vhroeghltash to control Keifer; to never go near us no matter what happened and most of all, to keep the rogues from getting in or out of the cave.
Once we are out, Chaunelle took charge of keeping us invisible through the fog. While Gab changed into his wolf and asked the fighters to patrol on the vicinity near the cave and to kill any rogues who’ll attempt to get inside the territory.
As we reached the cave, I felt the sprosk’s power emanating from the cave. I shivered at the power I felt and I could see my sisters did the same.
“Trago!” (Let’s go!) I said quietly as we walked silently toward the heart of the cave.
“Rech-tho!” (Cover!) Eana chanted and alas! The mouth of the cave was covered with a curtain-like energy blocking anyone to get inside.
We walked slowly towards the inner part of the cave when we saw to people. One is giving off power breaking the shell while the other is at the dark side looking at the man.
“What have you done?” I yelled at the man in my royal tone. The man startled in surprise hearing my voice while the other man flinched. He stopped attacking the shell of the sprosk.
“I can’t believe you were able to do this! You of all the people know the danger of the sprosk!”
“I knew it! No wonder the shell deteriorated!” AC spoke.
“You’re too late, Freyren!” He gave me a wicked smile before the shell started to break.
“Come on!” I called to my sister and half-run-half-walk to the shell.
“And where do you think you are going?”
“Dashen, Juno!” I growled at him. “Troia!” (Traitor!) He just grinned at me.
“We trusted you!” Red yelled.
“It’s your fault, Freyren! You left me no choice!” he yelled and pointed at me. “Get them!”
As we looked around, we were already surrounded by rogues.
And that’s when hell and fight broke loose.
“Dreya!”(Ready) I shouted.
“Ri!” I heard Gab shouted. “Go!” And they surrounded us, their backs to us as they faced the rogues.
My four sisters and I walked towards the sprosk but the rogues blocked us. Dodging their attack, we threw punch over punch on them. As we reached the sprosk, we immediately surrounded it. Stretching our arms, we held our hands together to form a circle.
“Well, well!” I heard and I looked to see him. “You just have made the biggest mistake of your life, Rianne Paine!” A growl escaped my throat. Of course!
Alpha Ivan Kane!
