Bella’s POV.
It’s been 1 week after the accident, and the doctor said that Mr King can go back, However he had to be in bed rest for at least a week.
I had been here the entire week helping him and taking care of him. There has been tension between us, but the both of us knew now was not the right time or place.
Also Andrew and Ava had came and visited Mr King. Turns out the both of them are actually dating. They met when once Andrew came to meet me once, and they saw each other and Andrew asked her out.
That’s why she has been avoiding me. I was not mad at them. I understood their discomfort and waved it off. Mr King’s family has also visited several time. Sophia and I got so well together.
Here I am signing his discharge paper. Once I was done, I gave the papers to the nurse, she handed me a bag of medicine.
“Make sure he takes his meds regularly and he attends his appointment.” I just nodded my head. Once she gave me all the information, I went back to his room.
As I entered I saw him having struggle to put his shirt on. I quickly rushed to him. “Here, let me help.” I said putting down the bag.
I helped him put his hands in first followed by his head. That’s when I realised I was faced with his naked chest. I blushed trying to hide it.
As soon I was done, I stepped back. He saw the blush in my face, as he smirk. “W-We should go.” I said stuttering. “Yeah we should.” he said still smirking.
The doctors offered him clutches but he insisted he didn’t need them. He was capable of walking but still was limping slightly.
I took all the stuffs, and hold his hand, helping him. Seeing our hands together, another blush made its way while another smirk made his way.
His dad offered us a ride but he refused. So we ended up hailing a cab. I helped him into the cab and put the stuffs into the back.
I got into the cab next to him. I told the driver his address as he start to drive. I felt his stare at me throughout the drive. I just faced the window not wanting to turn and look at him knowing he has control over me.
I realised he has control over me. And that is something I am scared off. I contemplated about what Dean said. About giving him a chance. I am just scared history will repeat.
I sighed as we soon reached his penthouse. I helped him out and took the stuffs out. Once paying the driver, I carried the stuff as I helped him into the lift.
I was holding his arms, and I could feel tingles standing so close to him. Tingles I liked. As soon the doors open, we entered the penthouse to see The King family there.
“Welcome back home jerk.” Emma said, to which I laughed softly and Xavier and the couple roll their eyes.
“Welcome home son.” his mum said as she hugged him. Followed by Mr King. Emma came towards him and I thought she was going to hug him but she just smacked his head.
“Ow! what was that for?” He exclaimed. “Just showing my love brother.” she said as she shrugged. He just glared back at her.
“Whatever. I am going to rest.” he said as he tried to walk. Tried. He almost tripped as I caught him. He smiled sheepishly before glaring at his sister who was laughing hysterically.
I just chuckled as I helped him up the stairs. I open his door as I led him inside and sat him down slowly. I got him comfortable and went to draw the curtains letting light in.
I went back to him and placed his meds in the side table as I stood awkwardly while he stared at me. His simple stare made me squirm.
“I-I should get going.” I said. “Wait.” I did as he told automatically. He looked at me before sighing. “You still haven’t answered my question.” he said frowning.
“What question?” I asked him confused. He took a deep breathe. “Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked me softly.
I knew we had to come this soon. I didn’t realise it was this soon. “Mr King, I have already told you. I really should go.” I said turning around.
I felt him grab hold of my hand and pulled me. I squeal as I fell on top of his lap. I tried to get up but he wont give in and had me caged.
He grabbed my chin and made me looked straight at him. “Firstly, its Xavier.” he said. I just nod my head but he grabbed my face with his one hand, “Say it.” he growled.
“Xavier.” I breathed out. He smiled as if he won a trophy. “Good. Secondly, I don’t care whether I am your boss. If that’s the problem, I will quit my job. That wouldn’t make me your boss right?” he said smirking.
However I looked at him shocked. He can’t quit his job. He loved his job and he’s the BOSS. “So tell me, what is it?” he asked still smirking.
I came out of my shock and started to think what do I say to him. I then I got an idea, “I-I need t-time. I will tell you o-once you recovered and c-come back to work.” I said trying to come with the sentence.
I guess he liked my answer as he smiled at me. He used to his thumb and caressed my cheeks, which immediately turn me red.
He slowly leaned in and kissed my cheek. I stared at him bewildered before starting to blush again. He hugged me, “Thank you for everything.” he mumbled against my neck as a shiver ran down my spine.
I couldn’t form any word as I hummed in response. He let me go and I quickly stood and bid my goodbye and left.
When I came down, I was still flushed. But when I saw his family there, I quickly regained myself. As I came down the three of them came to me.
“Thank you so much for everything.” Sophia said sincerely. “Its no problem.” I said smiling. “No dear, it would have been hard without you. ” Mr King said smiling at me.
“Its no problem. Mr King.” I said smiling. “Oh please call me David. We are practically family.” he said as I eyed questioningly. Sophia hit his stomach. I eyed between them suspicious but shrugged it off.
“Don’t care of them We should totally hang out one day!” Emma said squealing. The three of us laughed as I nodded my head.
“I should get going.” I said waving at them. They waved back at me and I took the lift and hailed the taxi. I was waiting to go home and take some rest.
As soon I opened my apartment, I lay in my couch. Hearing me, my brother came out. “Hey. You’re back.” he said coming to sit in the couch as he took my legs and plopped down before placing my legs in his lap.
I just stared at the ceiling. I don’t know what I was going to say to Xavier. I sighed thinking about it. “Hello? Back to earth.” Dean said trying to shake me. “What?” I asked him. He sighed.
“What’s on your mind tiger?” he asked me. I sat up. I sighed as I told him everything. After telling him, he looked at me shaking his head.
“Look, I already told you the other day. You deserve to be happy. What happened is not your fault. You have to let the past go and see your present and future.” he said smiling softly.
I nodded my head as I hugged him. “Thank you so much big bear.” I said as I heard him chuckle at his nickname.
We spent the rest of the day playing video games and binge watching Netflix.
