Author POV
The door burst opened, and Octavia’s mom barged in, but stopped on her track, with her hand still on the doorknob, as she stared at her daughter, laying on the bed, looking all pale, witu her eyes closed. Her mouth dropped opened, as the world stopped working for a few seconds. She couldn’t believe that the news she heard, turned out to be true, she couldn’t believe her only reason of living, her only reason is striving to live, her only reason of going through so much torture, is gone. Her fear finally came through. She never expected this, she never thought she would lost her only child, yes she know it was all fate for her daughter to go through pains in the hands of her mate, before the truth finally reveals itself, she know it’s already written, and marked by destiny, but she never imagined that her daughter, who is her only family, could die in the course of the torture.
Meanwhile, Khalid raised his head slowly, to check who dared to barge into his room, as anger surged through him, but almost froze on his spot, as he was welcomed with his mate mother, standing at the doorway like a zombie, looking all weak. He felt a sharp pain in his heart, and the next thing that followed, was his own tears. He started crying again, just what he’s been doing for days now. What keeps hurting him the most, is the fact that he made her went through so much pains, remembering her painful gaze, her screams, her tears and everything, he felt his heart, tearing into pieces.
Octavia mom finally moved from her spot, and dragged her feet, until she got to the bed, and fell on her knees, as she took her daughter’s hand, tears streaming down her cheeks. Even if she know none of it is her fault, she still blamed herself, for not being able to protect her daughter. Looking back into the past, how her daughter had cried so many times for freedom, how she smiled, how she play around with her and everything, she felt her heart, bleeding, like a sharp sword is pierced into her heart.

For some reason, she detested herself, she felt like she’s the worse mom ever, she felt like she failed to look out for her only child, she couldn’t help guilt that rushed through her, she couldn’t help concluding, that she killed her own child.
“Nooooo!” She cried out, as she shook her hand, but her daughter seemed to be lost gone out of the world, she must be in the underworld with the moon goddess. She cried her eyes out, but it was pointless, as she is gone, and can never come back…
Lia POV
It’s been a whole month, since the death of Octavia, but she’s still yet to be buried, Khalid refused believing that his mate is gone.
Watching him cry all day and night, sticking around her corpse, hoping that miracle happens, really breaks me into pieces. He refused to eat, neither does he talk to anyone, just sitting on the chair beside the bed, where Octavia corpse have been laying for months, and all he does, is stare at her face. I’m worried he may fall sick again.
The throne had been left empty all these months, and the pack seem to be falling apart, since no one is ruling us for now, and Khalid doesn’t seem to care about anything else, other than his mate, which is already dead.
As much as Octavia’s death really hurts me, the dead is already gone, and the throne is really important, right?
It’s another day today, I know there wouldn’t be any difference, but I’ll just try and make something for him, who knows, he may have a change of mind today, but I know the chance is slim.
Letting out a sigh, I stood up from the bed, and walked out of the room. Stepping out of my room, I walked elegantly to the kitchen, while waving to the maids and guards, who kept bowing nonstop. After a few minutes, I finally got to the royal kitchen, where I met the maids, making breakfast.
“Good morning my lady.” The five maids I met in the kitchen, bowed slightly.
“Morning.” I flashed them a smile, as I walked over to where the ingredients are kept, and selected some. After minutes of contemplating on what to make for him, I finally settled with vegetable soup and cream. I took my time to make it, and once I’m done after a few minutes, I packed it inside a plate, before arranging it on a tray with a kettle, containing warm tea, a mug, which had herb tea, to help him with refreshing himself, and finally, a big jar, which contained water, all in two different trays.
“Bring it with me.” I ordered, before walking away, while they started coming after me, and soon, we were standing in front of his door. Taking a deep breath, I placed a knock on the door, but got no reply. Not that I was actually expecting q reply though.
Taking a deep breath again, I twist the doorknob, and opened it slightly, before walking in, after which I held the door opened for the maids, who came in, and dropped the trays on the center table, before leaving immediately.
I closed the door, before turning around to see him, sitting on his usual spot, staring down at Octavia, as usual, not even raising his head to look at me for a second. It really breaks my heart, seeing him like this, I know what he’s going through now.
“Son I…”
“I’m not hungry mother.” He cut me off coldly, not even raising his head to look at me.
I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I bit my bottom lip. It hurts, getting this treatment from him, but I understand what he’s going through now. I still have to convince him to eat, right?
“Son you have to…”
“Don’t make me repeat myself mother!” He roared, as he suddenly sprang up, and turned to me, with so much anger, written on his face, like he’s going to devour me anytime soon…
