Author POV
Lia stared down at Khalid, who was laying on the bed, with his eyes closed, like he was having a peaceful sleep. She couldn’t help, but to get worried. She tried comprehending what had been happening with her son for a while now, but the more she tried to see the possible reason, the more everything becomes more confusing.
As much as she knows that he’s hiding something from her, asking him about it, is the last thing on her mind, she knows her limit, and question the alpha, is as good as crossing the boundary, knowing that his demon is not much of a patient one.
She kept watching the physician, who was busy, administering some herb in his mouth, which was slightly patted, but it was always ended up pouring out through the side of his lips, igniting her fear. In her entire life, she had never felt so scared, she had never been so scared of losing someone, and now she’s having the feelings. She felt like her whole world was crashing before her very eyes, and in the next seconds, her cheeks became wet, and that was when she realized that had started crying.
The physician, finally turned to face her, with an expressionless look on his face, which anyone can’t read meaning to. His face speaks of nothing, but bad and good news, getting the worried woman, more confused, and drowning in her own curiosity.
“How’s he please?” She asked the physician, with an expectating and worried look on her face, as she felt her heart, pounding heavily against her chest, like it was trying to force its way out.
The physician glanced back at the alpha, who was still having his eyes closed, before turning to face Lia.
“My lady, the alpha is out of danger for now, but I can’t promise you that he’ll be alright for long. His demon is very mad at him for something, which I seem to be ignorant of, that was what brought about the pains.” The physician finally spoke up.
Lia almost staggered back at the mention of that, as she felt her heart, broken into pieces. She couldn’t help, but get worried, knowing the influence of what he just said. She had heard of an alpha, who lost his life centuries ago, trying to restrain his demon, and what scared her, is the fact that the ailment that killed the then alpha, seems to be same as the one, which her son is going through now. At that moment, she didn’t need anyone to tell her what the problem is.
The fact that she may not be able to do anything to help her son, makes her feel like she’s losing her hope.
“I’ll be on my way now. Make sure he takes the herb. He’ll wake up in an hour or two, let him drink the herb, as soon as he wakes up. And for now, he shouldn’t go through so much stress, as it may trigger the pains again.” The physician said, and bowed slightly, before walking out, and soon, she was left alone in the room with her son, who looked lifeless.
Walking over to the chair beside the bed, she sat down, not taking her eyes off his face, as she couldn’t hold back the tears, that threatened to escape her eyes. She wished she could do something about the whole thing, she wished he would tell her what’s going on with him, but she knows that to be a dream, that’ll never come through for her….
After almost two hours, his eyelids moved, before they slowly opened, as his gaze kept staring at the ceiling, like there was something there. He tried wrapping his head around what is happening, but the more he tried to, the more he found the whole thing, confusing.
Slowly, he took his hand to the left side of his chest, where his heart is located, and touched it, as he closed his eyes, and let out a brief sigh. Recalling how it all happened now, he wondered how he ended up on his bed, instead of the jacuzzi.
He sighed briefly, and tried standing up, but was stuck on the bed, as he felt someone’s head, laying on his hand, with a hand, holding his hand tightly.
Snapping his head to look at who dared to do that, a smile crept its way to his face, as he was welcomed with most beautiful woman, whom he always finds amazing, the only woman, next to his heart, the only person that always stood by him, even at his worst, his very own mother.
Slowly, he raised her head carefully, and removed his hand from under her head, before dropping it back, not after putting a pillow there as support.
He swung his legs down the bed, and got on his feet, before walking over to where she was sitting, before scooping her in his arm, after which he placed her carefully on the bed, before heading to the bathroom.
Stepping into the bathroom, he stood before the mirror, gazing intently into his own reflection, as too many questions couldn’t stop rushing through his mind, but sadly, he ended up getting no answer to them. He really want to know what is happening with him, he knows his demon is mad at him, but wrapping his head around the possible reason, is just the problem.
He sighed deeply, and leaned in on the mirror, with his hands on the cabinet, as he closed his eyes, and threw his head back in so much confusion, trying to think of any possible reason or solution, but the more he thought about it, the more complicated and confusing it became.
He felt a presence behind him, as a dark and dangerous aura, filled the entire place. Fear gripped him, as he suddenly became scared of opening his eyes to behold the presence. He felt the presence, looming over him, consuming him in his aura, and as he couldn’t stand it anymore, he snapped his eyes opened, and as expected, what he saw froze him on his spot…
