“Here you go.” Mr. Williams said putting our bowls on the table in front of us. Mrs. Rosie Williams introduced herself and her husband to us while Mr. Williams was preparing our noodles.
” Thanks, Mr. Williams.” we both thanked him at the same time before I pulled the bowl towards me and started digging into it, not giving any heed to my surroundings, moaning at every bite.
” Ummm, this is so good.” I slurped the noodles with the soup and licked my lips afterward. I raised my head to see that Jeon was looking at me with hungry eyes due to my moaning. I smiled at him sheepishly before going back to my yummy noodles.
” Why are you not eating?” I asked with my mouth filled with the noodles without raising my head knowing he is still looking at me like he wants to eat me instead of noodles.
” I want to eat you but I don’t know-how.” He stated making me choke on the soup. I started coughing furiously, Jeon came beside me patting my back and handed me the glass of water.
” Oh my God, are you okay sweetie?” Mrs. Williams comes rushing towards me with Mr. Williams hot on her tail.
” Yes…. Cough….. i… iam…. Alright…..” I answered signaling to both Jeon and Mr & Mrs. Williams that I am fine.
” Please, be careful sweetie.” Mrs. Williams said with concern written all over her face.
” I am sorry Enya. I didn’t mean to get you choked on the noodles….” Jeon apologized with a guilty expression, making me feel bad for him.
” It’s okay, Jeon! It’s not your fault that I took your answer surprisingly and I was not expecting that answer.” I answered blushing thinking about what he said.
” I know, I am sorry but I just said what was in my mind.” He started as a matter of fact.
” Oh! Okay!” I said, raising my eyebrows in astonishment at his confession. He still has that look in his eyes making my knees weak and my core throb with need. I can’t get enough off him, he has become like a drug to me and I always want him in my life no matter what and maybe I want what Mr & Mrs. Williams has now.
” I am serious!” He started again not satisfied with my answer, what does he want me to say? Does he want to hear that I want him to eat me too, not in a literal way? Me and my brain sometimes.
” I know Jeon, but it’s not that long you know?” I rolled my eyes at him.
” Still, it’s been so long Enya and I need you every second of my life. He said with all seriousness, making my heart throb.
” Stop it Jeon and let me enjoy my noodles in peace.” I scowled at him, hiding my blush and a smile.
” Okay eat up, we have all night and many more nights and days.” He said before going back to eating his noodles with a smirk on his handsome face. Ugh, this man! He is never going to stop, he has an insatiable hunger.
” Whatever!” I mumbled.
We finished our food waiting for our bill to come, Mrs. Williams came out from the back with Mr. Henry following her. They look so good together, making my heart sour thinking if I could get this happy ending like them. I know they had many obstacles and hurdles in their life but what made them special is they are still together and I want that too.
” Here is your bill young lads.” Mr. Henry handed Jeon the bill with a warm smile on his face. Maybe Mrs. Williams has scolded him into behaving, which made me chuckle inwardly.
Jeon paid the bill with his card and left a generous tip for them despite them rejecting it but he didn’t listen saying ” We troubled them at this hour and it’s the right thing to do to leave the tip at least.”
” You are one hell of a persistent Young man!” Mr. Williams said, patting Jeon’s shoulder with a laugh making Jeon blush.
” Darling! Why don’t you give this young man our muffins which I made today?” Mrs. Williams said to Mr. Williams making Him nod at her before turning towards Jeon asking him to follow him.
” Wait here, I will be back,” Jeon said, giving me a smile before disappearing from my vision, which made me anxious for a reason I don’t know.
” It’s okay, don’t worry he will come back. They will take just a minute.” Mr. Williams said seeing me anxious because of Jeon’s absence.
” Umm, yeah!” I awkwardly smiled at her not knowing if I defend myself or stay silent and I did the latter.
” How far are you?” She asked looking at my stomach asking about my pregnancy.
” It’s the fourth month,” I answered, placing my hand on my bump, an automatic smile appeared on my face talking about the baby. I never thought I will connect with the baby this fast and I am really happy that I am happy and content with it.
” Goodness but your bump looks pretty big for the fourth month.” She was amused.
” What? I… I calculated it correctly and I have gone to the doctor too and she said the period I calculated is correct.” I said confusion, lacing my tone.
” Hmm, some women bump look bigger than other sweetie and I thought you were in your fifth or sixth month, and don’t worry it’s normal.” She assured me with a warm smile which made me release a sigh of relief.
” So, when are you guys getting married?” She asked, making me shocked at her question. I didn’t expect the question and I don’t even have the answer for that question.
” Umm, we didn’t think about it,” I answered dryly.
” It’s okay sweetie there is plenty of time for it and you both look good together and your baby is going to get your both good genes.”
” Yes, thanks.” I smiled at her.
” Umm, if you don’t mind can I ask you something?” She asked hesitatingly.
” Yes, sure!” I gave her a smile showing her it was okay to ask.
” Are you older than the gentleman?”
” What? How?.…..” I don’t know how to answer her. Is it obvious that we have an age gap between us? Am I looking older than him? My all insecurities came back rushing at a speed to crash every single piece of confidence that I gathered for this long.
” Umm, yes! Is it that obvious?” I asked not to make eye contact with her, I am embarrassed maybe I shouldn’t but I don’t know what to feel other than being embarrassed.
” don’t take me wrong, Sweetie, I asked because I can see me and my husband in both of you when we were young.” She explained, making me look at her in surprise.
” What do you mean? Mrs. Williams!” I was confused by her words.
” I am older than Henry and I can see the same hesitation and love in both of you which you are still not accepting. we were both in the start and always stayed on guard because of the fear of getting hurt by the other.” She said with a faraway look in her eyes.
” How did you overcome that fear?” I asked her wanting to know the solution and answer my hesitation.
” Time and persistence, give time to yourselves together and keep that persistence till you both end up together facing all the odds and challenges fighting together and winning together.” She said, making me realize that I need to start trusting Jeon and have to open up to him about my fears and hesitation.
” Thanks for the advice and for not judging me on my situation,” I said looking at her gratefully.
” I have been there too sweetie so I know how you feel but don’t worry everything will fall into place slowly,” she said patting on my shoulder lovingly, making me tear up.
” I appreciate it and I’m very thankful that I met you today,” I said, going for a hug.
” Don’t mention it sweetie and come and meet us here sometimes.” She said laughing, making her look more serene.
” Sure Mrs. Williams,” I said, we both turned towards the guys who made their presence known by clearing their throats at the same time making me and Rosie laugh out loud at them.
I really hope everything will fall into place and this time I get what I deserve.
