At the Verc so far, Livy have been able to successfully single out those who are her family’s supporters and those who are not.
With those who are not in support of her reign, she ruled with an iron-claw and leaves nothing to imagination or presumption.
Since her mother was still in a coma and Dr Joe’s unfortunate and untimely assassination, Livy had no other option than to use the Verc’s resources to find out where that rat- Carlos Guillian was hiding.
Her memories could have been lost along with Dr. Joe, but only Carlos could tell her what really happened the day of Sophia’s death.
Mr. Turner, CEO of TNet Telecommunications, one of North America’s most used network provider for over 15years, happened to be among Livy’s non-supporters.
But she needed his company to help her track down Carlos since, they had access to a satellite station. So, she did what her mother always does- resort to threats and blackmails.
“TNet Telecoms have been offered the opportunity to do something great and you’re turning it down, Mr Turner?” Livy asked straight-faces.
“You don’t care about anything but yourself. The reason you want my company isn’t for any greater good, it’s to satisfy your inflated ego.” said Mr Turner.
“Well, isn’t it just foolish to be aware of how inflated my ego is and yet you refuse me? Maybe I won’t need TNet then, but if I don’t need it, of what use is it going to be here anyway?” She threatened subtly.
And since its coming from a desperate new Queen who was still asserting her dominance, those threats and blackmails were far from being empty.
She can easily man few phone calls now and get any company- whether they’ve been around for 15 or 20 years, come crashing to the ground.
“If I don’t get results in less than a week, I’ll turn your company into dust. Just call my bluff and see…”
Mr Turner was also a scapegoat, to set fear and terror in the hearts of others who dares to undermine her reign by questioning or refusing to carry out her orders. After all they say that, ‘the apple does not fall far from the tree’, right?
So, without getting any result, one could say Livy had become desperate and obsessed with finding Carlos, and she wasn’t planning on letting Mr Turner off the hook if she still doesn’t get results.

Daniel (Present Day)
I sat outside Livy’s hospital room alone and less worried now.
The doctor had said that even though the injury wasn’t life threatening, she still needed to be kept under observation for another 6hrs.
He also asked me to tell Markian when he returns to meet him briefly in his office. I’m certain he wants to talk about Livy’s mental condition with Markian.
Heather was too mad and angry at Livy that she left immediately she heard what the doctor told us. And honestly I don’t blame her, she doesn’t want anything to do with me anyway and Livy just insulted her and disregarded her sincere concern. So she had no reason to stick around.
I noticed the reporters left a few minutes later after Markian left the hospital. He must have succeeded in calling them off.
The worse case scenario would be if Livy appears on the daily news tomorrow with the headlines ‘Luthel Inc’s heiress and global business queen’s daughter attempts suicide at the new home of the President of Castlehill’. Being that nobody knows till date that they are both married.
The reason why she did it wasn’t quite clear to either of us, but one thing was clear- that is our presence here seems to be a nuisance to her.
Her only family was lying in a coma right in this same hospital, so maybe she was feeling depressed. But why push everyone away?- why push me away?
When her mother fell into a coma, it was me she called. I remember how frantic she was that night, and I could barely hear what she was saying.
She must have really blamed herself for her mother’s current condition, but why? Even that too doesn’t make any sense to me at all.
I have so many questions to ask her, but at the same time I was scared to. A lot have happened already and if I had known she would do something like these, I would have returned to Minnesota immediately I heard her voice that night.
I don’t really know what to feel right now because,
no particular emotion seemed right.
I stood up from the bench I was sitting and walked to the door of her room. I looked through the glass window on the door and saw her sleeping peacefully.
No, I was wrong- she was not sleeping peacefully. She had tears streaming down her face.
I recall she was also crying and laughing deviously when she was saying those awful truth to us almost an hour ago.
‘Livy… what is happening to you? Why are you pushing everybody away? Why can’t you talk to me like before?’ I thought.
I wanted to tug at the door knob and push it open. I wanted to walk to the side of her bed and dry those tears from her eyes- to quench her suffering, but I didn’t. I hesitated and I don’t know why.
I heard footsteps fast approaching, so I turned to see a tired and raggedly looking Markian, coming towards me.
He didn’t even go ca we home to freshen up first, but hurried back to the hospital after solving the problem with the reporters?
Now, I finally saw it.
The facade, the arrogance and selfishness were gone and all I saw was just Markian- genuinely worrying about someone other than himself.
He truly have fallen in love with Livy, and this realization felt like a gunshot right to my chest, but I have to hide my pain.
I can’t show any weakness, not now, not to Markian.
“Hey man… how is she? What did the doctor say after the exams?” he asked exhausted.
“She’ll be fine. He said she needs to be observed for another 6hours, then she would be ready to go home.” I calmly replied.
My hands were clenched in a fist as I was trying to hold myself back. I needed answers from Markian but, he’s been through hell for the past 24hrs I didn’t want to add to his troubles.
“And… the doctor also ask me to tell you to come see him in his office when you return.” I added, relaying the doctor’s message.
“Oh… ok. Ehm…” he replied fazed, while racking his head like he was trying to fixed everything together.
“Where is Heather? I thought I asked her to help look after Livy while I was gone.” he asked confused.
“You know Heather and her short fuse. She asked to leave in order to be able to blow off some steam. After everything Livy said to her, it’s better she isn’t here- trust me.” I replied honestly.
“I see… Ok then, you stay here with her while I go see the doctor quickly.” He ordered before marching on to the direction of doctor’s office.
But he stopped few steps away from me, turned and said to me calmly,
“You and I need to talk when I get back from the doctor’s office. And Daniel?… Thank you for being here.”
He turned immediately and walked away. I couldn’t believe my ears. I must be dreaming or did Markian just appreciated my effort?
I tried to search for similar memories, were Markian said thank you to me or anybody else other than a business partner, and i came out blank.
I unconsciously took another look at Livy through her room door, and all I could say to her was, ‘Thank you’.
