Chapter 65

Book:Secretly Married Published:2024-5-1

Zanaya’s POV
My body automatically bent forward as we hit the last pose for our new song.
We’ve been practicing for a few hours non-stop and we still haven’t perfected our choreography.
Everyone seemed unsatisfied and our steps are being changed every now and then, so we actually haven’t had our final dance.
“Okay, that’s it for today!”
We all plopped down the floor as we try to catch our breath. I ended up lying on the ground, my arms spread wide open.
This is killing me.
Nothing’s change even when we were trainees. We still die practicing trying to perfect our craft. And I think things had gotten harder because this time, we have to fulfill the expectations of both our fans and those people who kept scrutinizing us just because we’re from BP.
Of course, we knew. We’re aware how some people are saying that we had it easy because we came from BP.
But they never knew what happened before we even debut.
We spent thousands of days killing our bodies to be better.
We cried a lot of tears as our debut kept being pushed back.
We never had it easy.
We fought for this spot. We battled with people we call our friends to be here today.
So whenever we perform, we keep in mind that we’re here because we deserve it.
We at least tell that to ourselves to have confidence.
We don’t want to disappoint people.
We were not here just because we’re from BP. We are here because we worked hard to be here.
Though some people would say we don’t need to prove something, somehow, it still hurts our pride.
Some people would throw shade at us. Some would say something bad and hurtful. And we’re people. We’re still the same people in their twenties, living a complicated life.
We know we chose this path and there are consequences that surround the happiness and love that we receive, but there is still a thin line after everything.
I close my eyes as I try to catch my breath.
The rest of the girls were also lying on the floor.
Cali had been looking at me ever since the other day.
She may not be talking to me now but she’s no longer acting like she’s not seeing me.
“My princess is really pretty.” My eyes automatically snapped open as I heard his voice.
And then a beautiful face greeted before my eyes.
He was crouching right above me, his face a little closer to mine.
“What–awww!” I held my forehead as I accidentally butted my head with his.
I sat down and saw him doing the same from the corner of my eyes. But he quickly moved towards my direction.
“Are you okay?” he said as he gently caressed my forehead, blowing it in turns to make me feel better.
My heart skipped a bit.
He looked dashing with his loose gray jumper and black jeans.
I turned around when I heard someone laughing.
“Tokyo!” I groaned after noticing how she kept on taking pictures of us.
Seth chuckled and pulled me closer.
“Yah! I’m sweaty, get off me!” I tried to push him but he ended up sitting on the floor, his arms still wrapped around me.
Somehow, I felt my cheeks blushed.
And then I remembered something.
“Seth Devon! Why are you here?” I exclaimed after realizing that we are currently inside our practice room in BP building!
I heard him chuckle.
I turned around, still sitting, and hit him in the chest.
“Are you crazy?” I scolded him. How did he end up here anyway?
“Relax, okay,” he said as he cupped my face. “We are here for official business. Storm and our manager are with me,” he added and we both turned around after we heard something fall.
Cali dropped her bottled water.
My eyes soften at the sight of her.
I don’t know what’s wrong with her and Storm but it is so obvious that they love each other?
Why can’t they just be together?
I turned back to Seth and motioned him for us to come outside.
Before I go, I grabbed a towel and wipe my sweaty face.
With my jacket with me, Seth and I walked along the hallway.
Seth held my hand as we walk side by side. I tried to pull away but he refuses.
“Yah!” I snickered, though my heart is beating so fast.
“What?” he whisper-shouted while grinning from ear to ear.
Soon enough, we heard a few gasped from some trainees at the sight of him.
My other hand landed on my forehead.
Of course, trainees would go gaga over him.
I grunted internally at the sight of him pulling his hair back.
Here we go again.
“Stop pushing your hair back, Seth,” I grunted and he had the nerve to just gave me a wink.
Of course, he’s hot and drop-dead gorgeous. Why did I ever think that I won’t have girls swooning over my husband? He is Seth Devon of SHADOW. Plus, the fact that they recently won a major award in America makes all the difference.
Someday, we’ll also achieve those. We’ll just have to work harder like how they did.
And they deserve it anyway. They deserve all the love that they are getting right now and I know for sure that the award they just got is not the end of it.
My guts tell me so.
We turned a corner and I laughed at Seth’s shocked reaction.
“Are you for real?” He exclaimed, his hand covering his mouth as he looks at me.
He was laughing in excitement.
I knew for a fact that he is a BP fan ever since. So I brought him to our famous cafeteria.
“The boys would go crazy because of this,” he said as he started taking photos.
He looked like a kid and even the other trainees on the cafeteria laughed at how cute his reaction is.
“Grey will be jealous and Demo as well,” he said, his eyes squinted from too much smiling.
I took his hand as we head to take our food and his reaction was priceless.
“Accompanying Storm here was the best decision!” he muttered and I crunch my nose.
“Wow! I snickered. “So you were glad to go with Storm because you were able to try the food in our cafeteria and not because you saw me.” I raised my eyebrows at him and he laughed.
This isn’t good.
We are being given too much freedom and I’m wondering if this is for the best.
“By the way,” I wipe the corner of his lips with my thumb. He is eating too excitedly. “What is Storm’s business with BP?” my chin leaning above my clasped hands with my elbows seated on the table.
He finished the food he was eating before looking at me. “I don’t know. He just asked me to accompany him here,” he said before eating again.
Man, he is hungry.
My brows furrowed as I try myself not to get frustrated. It has been weeks since we last saw each other and I don’t want us to fight.
“Don’t you have anything to tell me?” I asked him.
The last time that we talked was when I disconnected the call after hearing a girl from the other line.
He looked up and I had to resist the urge to pinch his cheeks.
He looks so adorable.
“What?” his words barely audible. “I miss you?” he said a little confused. My face was stone cold.
“I love you?” he added.
“I love you too, ” I can’t help but answer. Though it isn’t the words that I was waiting to hear, my heart still started beating rapidly.
“Don’t you have anything to explain to me, like why there is a girl giggling in your hotel room while you are away from me?” my arms crossed over my chest.
I still need to hear an answer. I can barely sleep thinking about it. And somehow, why do I feel like the sound was a little familiar?
He started coughing at my words which made me even more confused.
His arm automatically reached for the glass of water on the side.
After drinking, he looked around frantic before leaning closer to me.
“Demo has a girlfriend. She went over,” he whispered.
My eyes went wide open.
“What?!” I exclaimed, shocked and Seth reached over to cover my mouth.
“Hey, keep it down,” he muttered.
“Who is it?” I asked a little excited.
Seth pouted. “I think you should ask him,” he grimaced.
So this is the secret.
“Why can’t you tell me?”
“Well, he is not confirming their relationship but Mono said they were definitely together. And Demo said that they will kill us once words about this come out. He specifically told him not to tell even our girlfriends.” he added.
“I am not your girlfriend,” I told him and he grins.
“I know. That’s why I told you. But I really can’t tell you who it is.” he stated and I huffed.
Soon enough, he finished eating and we were walking back to the practice room when we saw Cali dashing out, Storm standing at the end of the hallway, looking dejected.
Is he crying?
I turned to Seth and somehow he understood.
My feet automatically rushed towards where Cali is while Seth went to Storm.
Why does our group to be in a mess lately?
Just as I opened the door that leads outside of the building, I heard a loud sound of tires screeching and a few screaming.
My heart almost dropped on the floor.
No.
“Cali!”
