Chapter 45

Book:Secretly Married Published:2024-5-1

Zanaya’s POV
“Wow, I guess they really were together before.”
“But isn’t he dating Sally way back before?”
“The timeline was weird. Don’t you think Seth dated her while dating Sally?”
“You think so?”
“I pity her. Maybe that’s the reason why she was sent to the hospital. She can’t accept the fact that Seth left her.”
My stomach churned after hearing all those murmurs from the staffs beside the stage when we passed by.
It has been two weeks since I was out from the hospital and we are currently scheduled to perform in a Univerity Festival.
I had to do a double take when I heard what the other girl said.
“Did you notice that she no longer has the necklace?”
“But I was sure Sally was wearing the same necklace when they performed earlier.”
No way. There’s no way.
That’s impossible. I gave it back to Storm for him to give it back to Seth.
“Don’t mind them.” Cali grabbed my hand as we move towards our formation for one of our songs.
A smile spread across my face as I hear the multiple cheering from the crowd.
Once the song started, I blocked all the negativity around me and dance the way my body had been used to.
I was enjoying myself doing multiple ad-libs here and there.
I miss performing in front of people. It feels like forever since the last time that I did and the roaring of the crowd is making my adrenaline rush.
Every time the crowd sings with us, a smile automatically spreads across my lips.
I won’t exchange this feeling. The feeling of people loving you openly.
I tried to catch my breath as our first song ended.
“Are you guys having fun?!” I screamed trying to hype the crowd.
Of course, they eagerly responded.
“We’re so happy to be here performing in front of you. We hope you continuously love WHISTLE. We love you!” I screamed as me and the girls show our signature heart sign.
Tokyo squealed as the cheering gets louder and louder.
A lump was taken off my chest after I hear them roaring.
I love our fans.
I look at the girls beside me and a meaningful smile emitted on my face.
“This is Stay,” I told the crowd and another set of cheers roared the stadium.
Soon enough, all four songs ended and we bid our goodbye to the crowd.
It’s a pity we can’t stay longer.
The girls headed back to the dressing room but I decided to turn on the corner to go to the restroom.
Wrong move.
I shouldn’t have gone alone. Because standing in front of me is the bitch who stole my ‘temporary’ prince.
She smirked once her eyes landed on me.
Wow. What a bitch.
I looked around and realized that we’re alone.
Well, she wouldn’t dare look at me like that of there is.
“Hi Zanaya..” she greeted and I had to stop myself from lunging forward and smack the face of this devil.
I am never a violent person but I am entitled to get mad as well.
“Hello.” I curtly nodded. I have no time for her drama.
I moved forward and decided to act like I did not see her. But I guess she has other plans.
The next thing I knew was her hands on my arm, trying to stop me from passing by her.
I stopped from my tracks and faced her. I raised my eyebrows at her and she looked taken aback for a bit.
But her resolved must have been so strong she looked back at me.
“Stop seeing Seth. We’re now together.” If my eyebrows can get any higher, it will probably reach the rooftop of the stadium.
“I’m no longer seeing him. He’s all yours.” I told her, my voice cold, Max can freeze her favorite Milk ice cream on it.
“I don’t believe you. I knew he went to you on the hospital,” she stated at that added to my suspicion that Seth indeed went to visit me like what Storm said.
I pretended to be clueless about it. I’m not really sure myself anyways.
“I did not see him and I don’t really care.” I released my hand from her grasp and face her. “And why don’t you talk to that boyfriend of yours instead of pestering me? Why? You can’t control your man?”
I don’t even know where I got my courage.
“So stop seeing him!” she screamed and I squinted my eyes in anger.
How dare her.
“I’m not seeing him! But you did when you knew that we’re together!” I hissed at her and she looked taken aback.
My eyes started to get teary.
She looked startled at the sight of my tears.
“I thought we were friends. You knew we were together.” I painfully muttered.
“I trusted you.” I said in conviction.
“Even though people thought you two were together when he was dating me, I never said a word. Because I still thought of you as my friend.”
A weird laugh escaped my lips.
“Did you ever thought about me? About how would I feel?” I accused her.
All the pain that I’m feeling inside slowly getting ahead of me.
It hurts when a friend betrays you moreover takes away the person who’s more dear to you.
My heart still aches just thinking about how my marriage with Jjmin ended up and nobody even knows about it.
“I-I’m… I lo-I love him,” she said as her eyes landed on the ground and I had to look up the ceiling.
“Oh God.” I muttered.
“Well I guess congrats.” I told her. “Because he loves you back. That’s why you two were together, right?” I told her and I swear something strange went past through her eyes.
Guilt?
I was about to turn around forgetting about doing my business but shiny metal flashed my line of sight and turned back at her.
My hands automatically reached for the thing hanging on her neck and my eyes widen at the sight.
My wedding ring.
“Why do you have this?”I asked her. This time, all the patience that is left within me started to vanish in the thin air.
She grabbed the necklace away from my grasp before I can even pull it.
“Seth gave it to me!” she said a little scared.
“He did what?” I asked bewildered.
“He gave it to me. Always and forever, Seth Devon.” she stated.
I felt my whole world crashing in front of me.
My heart is beating ten times faster than it usually does.
“He wouldn’t give that to you. That’s impossible.” I uttered, my words assuring myself more than stating the obvious to her.
“Well he did. So back off okay? He’s mine now so know your place.” she stated before she left me all alone.
No.
I pulled my phone in my pocket and dialed Storm number.
He gave it to me the last time he visited in case I need something.
“Zaya?” his voice raspy, he must be sleeping.
“Storm, the necklace, did you give it to Seth?” I asked in a panic.
” I put in on his jacket last time. Why, do you want it back?” he asked.
So he really gave my wedding ring to her huh?
Fresh tears flow down my cheeks.
“Are you crying?” he sounded alarmed.
“Storm, he gave it to Sally,” I told him.
I don’t care if I sounded like a young sister telling someone off to my brother. But since he already knew what’s the real deal between Seth and I, he’s the only person I can fully trust right now.
“What?” I heard shuffling on the other line.
“Storm… I want to end this. I can’t take this anymore.” I told him before I ended the call.
Seth and I, we can no longer be together.
All this drama might kill me anytime soon.
I typed a message on my phone.
“Let’s end this.”
And I sent it to his number.
I wipe the tears on my cheeks. I need to go back to my members. They might be worried about me.
So this time, I’m going to give him up.
Forever.
