Yolanda Taylor subconsciously looked up at him when she heard his words.
When her eyes met those eyes, she only felt as if her heart had been stabbed hard by something.
Ouch.
Her hand was in his grip, and she tried to pull it back, but Gwen Fox’s grip was so tight that she couldn’t.
“I was wondering what the hell you-”
“Hello, your takeout, Mr. Fox.”
At that moment, there was a knock at the door.
Yolanda Taylor drew her hand back, “Why don’t you go get the takeout and I’ll change my clothes.”
With that, she got up straight away and went to her suitcase to get a set of casual clothes, then went into the bathroom.
Gwen Fox watched her back until she closed the bathroom door behind her before he lifted his leg and went to open the door to get the delivery.
Bathroom.
Yolanda Taylor looked at herself in the mirror, her face was a little white after removing her makeup, the dark circles under her eyes were a little obvious, and the whole person looked a little haggard.
She scooped up another handful of cold water and splashed it on her face, only then was she able to make herself refute awake.
She was very messy, so messy that she didn’t know what to do.
She had thought that things would be over by the day after tomorrow, that after the wedding she would leave Robin City and start over in a place where Gwen Fox wouldn’t find her.
She couldn’t let go of the past, but there was no way she could be that heartless to actually put him to death.
However everything is disrupted by the man this afternoon, she hates Gwen Fox because Petra died because of him.
She wants to drop everything and let herself go because Petra’s death was Lamar Fox’s doing and had nothing to do with Gwen Fox.
Yet a few hours ago she was told that Petra’s death was caused by Gwen Fox on purpose.
He was an accomplice!
The realization made her so desperate and grief-stricken that she really didn’t know what to do.
There was no way she could convince herself to let go of everything and start over like she had before.
Probably because she had been inside the bathroom for too long, Gwen Fox knocked on the door out of nowhere, “Dear?”
Yolanda Taylor let go of the hand covering her face and sidled over to pull the door open and exit the bathroom.
Gwen Fox was standing in the bathroom doorway and when he saw her come out, his eyes fell on her face as if he was trying to see something.
Yolanda Taylor lifted her leg and walked over to the couch, the table was already set with the meal on top, she sat down and looked up at him, “Eat.”
She finished and looked down as she began to eat.
Gwen Fox looked at her for half a second before picking up his chopsticks.
Neither of the two spoke, and there was an oppressive silence inside the room.
Yolanda Taylor couldn’t eat any more after only a few bites of rice, she let go of her chopsticks, the bite of rice inside her mouth seemed like she couldn’t swallow it.
It was hard to swallow, but her throat felt like it was blocked by something, and her eyes were hot.
She looked down at the chopsticks in front of her, “I’m a bit uncomfortable.”
Her voice was soft, and when she finished, tears fell from her eyes.
Gwen Fox drew tissues and came around to her side, wiping her tears as she asked her, “What happened?”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say anything as she looked up at him through a haze of tears.
Those tears continued to flow down her face and soon the one tissue in Gwen Fox’s hand was wet.
He reached down and drew out a few more tissues, and just as he withdrew his hand, Yolanda Taylor suddenly threw herself into his arms, “Gwen Fox, I really hate you.”
His throat rolled a bit and he responded with a hard spoken, “I know.”
He knew, but he couldn’t live without her.
Gwen Fox didn’t know what had happened to Yolanda Taylor, she wouldn’t talk about it, she just cried, and she didn’t say anything else except, “I really hate you.”
Yolanda Taylor cried for half an hour, and Gwen Fox’s shirt was completely wet.
He looked down at Yolanda Taylor in his arms, saw her eyes slightly closed, thought she was asleep, used his fingertips to help her ruffle her hair, was about to carry her to the bed, but she suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him, “You don’t want to divorce me, is it because you are worried that FG is going to share half of me?”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s face didn’t half change, “If you like, I can transfer all of FG’s shares to your name.”
When he said this, he didn’t even blink his eyes, and the inside of those dark eyes was like a whirlpool that could drag people in, never to be recovered.
Yolanda Taylor laughed, “What do I need FG for?” She said, pushing him away, “I’m sleepy, I’m going to take a shower.”
Gwen Fox’s raised hand retracted and watched her go into the bathroom.
Yolanda Taylor came out just as Gwen Fox finished her phone call.
He turned and set the phone down on a side counter, “I had Lewis draw up the share transfer.”
Hearing him say this, Yolanda Taylor lifted her leg to his eyes and raised her hand to touch his forehead, “Are you crazy?”
He reached out and pulled her hand down, leaning down to hug her, “I’ll give you anything you want.”
“Yeah?”
She smiled and looked at his ear, lifting her hand to touch it, “What if I want your life?”
He loosened up a bit and pulled away to look straight at her, as if trying to argue whether he was telling the truth or not.
Yolanda Taylor looked at him as well, a light smile still on her face, but her almond eyes were just a little bit cooler.
“I’ll give it to you too if you want it.”
He said, lowering his head and starting to kiss her, his hands restless.
Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment and reacted when Gwen Fox’s hand had already smoothed its way through the hem of her shirt.
She subconsciously raised her hand to clasp his, but it was too late in the end.
He was so strong that he had her hands under control with one hand, and Yolanda Taylor was forced backward by him, her calves hitting the edge of that bed, and when he pushed hard, her entire body fell to the bed with him on top of her.
“I-”
The words she opened her mouth were so tightly blocked by him that only one word was revealed, other than that, nothing.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t struggle anymore either, and she looked up at the bare white ceiling above her head and smiled somehow.
Gwen Fox noticed too, and the lips he’d just withdrawn moved in again.
This time it was much harder than earlier, and she almost choked a little on his kiss.
The air conditioning was a little cool and Yolanda Taylor rolled over in his arms.
Gwen Fox was sitting on the edge of the bed with her arms around her letting her sit on him.
He looked down at her face, Gwen Fox seemed to be wide awake at times like this.
Yolanda Taylor’s eyes were slightly closed and the hands clasped on his shoulders subconsciously exerted themselves.
She hadn’t trimmed her nails in days, and they scratched the skin of his shoulder as if they were going to pierce into the flesh and bone.
His movements were so gentle that Yolanda Taylor just felt like the frog inside a warm boil.
He lowered his head and kissed her cheek while calling her name, his voice was raspy and low, sounding inexplicably deep: “Dear.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know whether she was awake or not, she felt hard and joyful, two complex emotions intertwined, she couldn’t tell which one was more.
All she felt was that her heart was barren, once it had been full, filled with him.
But now it was empty, nothing, she even wondered what in the world she could not be cruel, after all, once he was so cruel.
This one lasted more than an hour, and when it ended Gwen Fox didn’t move, holding her tightly from behind in that position.
Her bare back was pressed against his heated chest and Yolanda Taylor could almost feel his heart beating.
“Are you trying to get away from me?”
He nuzzled her earlobe, his low voice vibrating against her ear to her brain.
Yolanda Taylor shuddered, “Will you let me go?”
Her voice was also a little muffled, sounding inexplicably desperate.
