Chapter 238: Thinking You Smell Good

Book:Welcome To My Life Published:2024-6-3

Gwen Fox hadn’t seen Yolanda Taylor this docile in years, saying that she was carrying her into the bathroom to wash up, but then pressing on once she was inside.
Usually Yolanda Taylor would be angry, but after she pushed him for a while, she didn’t push him away, and simply hugged his neck tightly, letting him hold her against the wall one time after another.
By the time she came out from inside the bathroom, the light coming through the gap in the curtains was already a bit harsh.
After Gwen Fox had come in from the balcony last night, the curtains had fallen and not fully covered, leaving a little gap, and now that the sunlight was drilling through the gap and hitting it, there was just enough of a light to fall on the bed.
Yolanda Taylor, being carried out, couldn’t help but frown as the light stung her eyes for a moment.
Gwen Fox looked down at her, some smiles between his eyebrows, he put her on the bed, the person sat beside her, took his cell phone and looked at the time: “There are still fifteen minutes to seven, later today to go over?”
“Uh-huh.”
Yolanda Taylor answered, closing her eyes and quickly falling back asleep.
The room gradually quieted down, and Gwen Fox looked down at Yolanda Taylor, who had already fallen back to sleep.
His whole body was in a happy mood, even his usually cold expression was rarely dyed with a smile.
But as he smiled and laughed, his face sank.
He knew that Yolanda Taylor couldn’t possibly be letting it all go.
The Heather thing had probably given her one more option, and she’d probably realized that, so there had been very little arguing with him these days.
Just thinking about it made Gwen Fox feel her warmed up heart go cold all of a sudden.
When Yolanda Taylor woke up again, Gwen Fox was no longer in bed, yet she could stop at the sound of him talking in the outer room.
The curtains were still tightly drawn, but there was enough light in the outer room that it was bright here in the room as well, only not so bright that the sunlight stung straight into her eyes.
She propped herself up on the bed and sat up, listening to Gwen Fox in the outer room talking about something worthwhile that Yolanda Taylor couldn’t understand but guessed was business.
She took a remote control aside and opened the curtains, and the whole room lit up at once.
Yolanda Taylor went into the bathroom in her slippers, rinsed herself off, and came out as Gwen Fox still seemed to be answering her phone.
She sat down at the dresser and checked her cell phone for the time, realizing that it was almost eleven o’clock.
Yolanda Taylor frowned a little and took a small bottle and unscrewed the cap, dabbing a little onto her face with her fingertips.
She had just smeared it away when there was one more person inside the mirror.
“Awake?”
Gwen Fox didn’t have a formal suit, and the top version of his shirt was on the loose side, with two buttons open at the collar, just loosely on his body, the whole person looked a little reserved and lazy, yet sexy for no reason.
Yolanda Taylor glanced at the mirror, “Uh-huh.”
“What do you want for lunch?”
“Let the maid do the take.”
Gwen Fox hired a maid for three meals a day, but they only ate inside the villa a handful of times.
“Uh-huh.” He answered, leaning down and suddenly hugging her, his eyes closed as he just rested on her shoulder.
Yolanda Taylor’s hand gave a slight lurch, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, think you smell good.”
She smiled and reached for the cream and unscrewed it before handing it to his nose, “It’s this cream.”
Gwen Fox sniffed, “No.”
“Then what is it?”
She couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow just in time to meet his open eyes.
They were so dark and translucent and watery that Yolanda Taylor could clearly see herself reflected in them.
She pursed her lips for a moment and slightly averted her eyes when she heard Gwen Fox’s mellow voice come through, “It’s body odor.”
Yolanda Taylor’s hand shook, and the cream in her hand almost fell to the floor.
Just in time, at that moment, her cell phone rang.
Gwen Fox faintly swept a glance, and with an empty hand helped her bring the phone over.
Yolanda Taylor saw the caller ID and reached for the phone, “Thanks.”
She said, breaking away from him and getting up to take a call.
Gwen Fox looked at the cream that was swirling around on the dresser and couldn’t help but reach out and pick it up and smell it again.
It really wasn’t the scent.
The maid had been hired for almost two years and had always felt unsettled by her paycheck, but now that she finally had a chance to shine, she cooked six of her favorite dishes in an hour and a half, still making soup along the way.
Yolanda Taylor took a call from CoCo in the morning, a client had come over from Robin City and said he wanted to see her.
After lunch, Gwen Fox dropped her off in front of the store.
She had just gone inside when CoCo came out in a rush, “boss Yolanda, I thought you weren’t going to show up today!”
Yolanda Taylor smiled, “Why yes.”
She asked as she walked inside, “Is the guest still here?”
“Yes, she’s been waiting for you!”
Yolanda Taylor nodded and entered the office, and sure enough, she saw two women sitting inside.
“Hello, I’m Yolanda Taylor.”
“Hello Miss Taylor, I love your designs so much that I would love for my wedding to be designed by you.”
Yolanda Taylor smiled, “That’s not a problem.”
The other party came in good faith and Yolanda Taylor was touched, so for the whole afternoon, Yolanda Taylor was listening to the other party’s request.
However, this time the wedding was a bit rushed, it was already early September, and the couple’s wedding was during the National Day in October.
Yolanda Taylor originally didn’t want to take it because she already had two weddings on her, but thinking that the other party was specially rushed over and generous, after hesitating for a while, she still nodded her head.
After sending the guests away, Yolanda Taylor asked CoCo to make herself a cup of Chenpi tea.
The sky in September hadn’t gotten dark that fast, and it was still bright around six in the evening, only the sunlight was noticeably darker.
She was a little lost in thought as she looked at the steaming cup of chamomile tea in front of her.
Yolanda Taylor snapped back to her senses when CoCo knocked on the door to say Gwen Fox was here.
“I know.”
Yolanda Taylor answered and drank her stale tea, then put her cup down there in the pantry.
She had just turned around when she saw Gwen Fox behind her.
Yolanda Taylor was startled for a moment, “What are you doing in here?”
He used to wait outside, not walk in.
Gwen Fox went out and changed into a suit, the stiff suit made his whole person much colder, just seeing Yolanda Taylor, the coldness on his face faded a lot, “Didn’t come in to see.”
Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips for a second, “You want to see it then?” “Some other time.”
He said, reaching out and taking her by the hand.
Yolanda Taylor looked down at her hand being held and didn’t break away, except when she passed the office door, she paused, “I don’t have my bag or flash drive yet.”
Gwen Fox let go and stood in the doorway waiting for her, “Oh.”
Gwen Fox entered the store for the first time and the store employees were flattered.
At this time, there are still a few customers inside the store, when Gwen Fox came in, those customers all subconsciously dropped their eyes on him.
When Gwen Fox led Gwen Fox away, someone couldn’t help but inquire: “That man just now, is he the husband of your boss’s wife?”
“Yes, isn’t he handsome?”
“Yes, and very rich.”
The Lamborghini parked in front of the entrance was so eye-catching that it was visible from the window looking out.
Yolanda Taylor also noticed that Gwen Fox had changed cars, and she couldn’t help but be a little curious, “What’s with the change?”
“Didn’t you used to say you liked racing cars?”
Hearing his words, her hand on her seatbelt loosened a bit, “I’m not into that stuff now that I’m older.”
She did like those things in the past, and in contrast, Gwen Fox’s interest was lacking.
Except Gwen Fox didn’t like it, and he’d only taken her there once, and Yolanda Taylor didn’t have that kind of access. She didn’t have friends like that either, so naturally she didn’t touch it again.
Gwen Fox inclined his head at her, “It wouldn’t hurt to visit.”
“Uh-huh.”
She answered, no joy visible on her brow.
