It was rare for Gwen Fox to see her like this, her showing such an expression, or the last time she was set up by Angela and she woke up with a disoriented and scared face before she looked at her in such a dependent manner.
This is the emotion Yolanda Taylor should have, but she has been more cold and unfeeling towards him for over a year.
In the past, there was only emotionlessness and coldness inside those moody, almond eyes, and every time he wanted to do something, when he saw those eyes of hers, he would be heartbroken and guilty, stumbling and stumbling, and letting them get stuck in the cracks, unable to get out and unable to hold on to come in.
Now seeing her defenseless, he only felt the bottom of his heart heat up at once, touching the cold fingertips inside his palm, he let out a rare light laugh, “Weren’t you very intimidating when you hit Ham Rodriguez just now?”
Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips, didn’t say anything, only she knew that her back was already oozing a thin layer of sweat.
She was still afraid, but just now she was overwhelmed by anger, unworthy on behalf of Heather, her brain was hot, and she directly slapped over.
Seeing that she didn’t say anything, Gwen Fox also knew that she was frightened, he leaned over and directly picked her up, “Don’t be afraid, he can’t move you.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t expect him to pick her up all of a sudden, she was shocked for a moment, but she didn’t resist, she just raised her arms around his neck and glanced at him.
She was indeed startled, not only were her hands cold, but her legs had some weakness in them as well.
She didn’t say anything, closing her eyes and letting him carry her down the stairs and inside the car.
As soon as Yolanda Taylor closed her eyes, she couldn’t help but think of that day in that busy and noisy bar, when Heather told herself with a confused look in her eyes that she had loved Ham Rodriguez for thirteen years, but Ham Rodriguez didn’t love her.
When she thought about it, she felt bad for Heather and for herself.
She was no better than Heather, half a catty, and there were two lives between her and Gwen Fox.
The child she’d never met, and her mom.
Either one is enough to hate.
Gwen Fox had just helped Yolanda Taylor fasten her seatbelt when he realized that tears were actually streaming down her face.
He was stunned for a moment and subconsciously reached out to wipe them away, only to shrink back from the tears.
“What’s wrong with you, are you sick somewhere, Dear?” He asked him as he leaned over and hugged her, kissing her as he did so.
Yolanda Taylor heard his words and stared at him blankly through her tears, “Gwen Fox, you men, aren’t you all so desperate.”
As soon as he heard her words, Gwen Fox knew that Yolanda Taylor had remembered something from the past.
He stiffened for a moment, “I made a mistake before, and I won’t do it again.”
“Yeah?”
She murmured, tilting her head to look out the car window, “But not all mistakes can be forgiven.”
When she finished speaking, she closed her eyes and stopped talking.
Gwen Fox’s hand froze when she heard her say that, fighting back the bitterness inside her throat as she drew a tissue to help her wipe the tears from her face one by one before she went around to the driver’s seat and drove away.
After that day, Ham Rodriguez seemed to settle down.
Yolanda Taylor thought he had given up, but no sooner had she stepped into July than a police officer came by and asked her to go to the station to cooperate with the investigation.
After leaving that day, Yolanda Taylor knew that Ham Rodriguez wouldn’t let her, or Heather, off the hook that easily.
She was the main culprit in this case, and if Ham Rodriguez wanted to sue, he would, but she would never let him know where Heather was.
Yolanda Taylor was taken into the police station and Gwen Fox got the message.
Lewis finishes, keeping his head down and not daring to look at Gwen Fox at all.
Ham Rodriguez is going crazy trying to find Heather, and when he can’t find a break, he’s holding onto Yolanda Taylor.
Knowing full well what Yolanda Taylor is to Gwen Fox, he still sues Yolanda Taylor.
Upon hearing the news, Gwen Fox went straight to the eyes of Ham Rodriguez.
Ham Rodriguez refused to see him, but there was no stopping Gwen Fox.
He rushed all the way into Ham Rodriguez’s office, and when he saw the man, he directly threw a hard punch at him: “Drop the lawsuit!” Gwen Fox’s punch was half-hearted, and Ham Rodriguez’s nose bled as soon as the punch went down.
The secretary on the side looked on, his face went white with shock, but seeing the terrible ruthlessness on Gwen Fox’s face, he opened his mouth, and in the end he didn’t dare to say anything.
Ham Rodriguez raised his hand and touched his nose, seeing the blood on his hand, he suddenly laughed: “You are protecting her, but she is protecting you? This project she knew that you were the one doing it with me, but for Primo Jones, she sent the proposal to someone without saying a word!”
“Don’t you forget, Heather gave her the proposal!” “But it was Yolanda Taylor who sent the program to Primo Jones!”
Gwen Fox didn’t want to argue the point with him, “What do you have to do to drop the charges?” “I’ll drop the charges when I see Heather!”
Gwen Fox looked at his best friend, whom he had known for over twenty years, and for some reason, he suddenly understood how much Jerome Perot had hated him back then.
He let go of Ham Rodriguez and snorted before taking two steps back, “Ham Rodriguez, I advised you, but what did you say then? You were so sure, you said she loved you. Now she’s gone without a peep out of her, don’t you realize what it’s about?” Yolanda Taylor says he’s essentially the same person as Ham Rodriguez, which he’s not, the biggest difference between him and Ham Rodriguez is that he doesn’t have the same ego as Ham Rodriguez.
The only reason he made a mistake back then was because he thought that Yolanda Taylor was just a bit of a shedding bedmate for him, but if he had known that he loved her, he wouldn’t have let what happened back there happen.
But Ham Rodriguez is different, he knows that Heather loves him, and he knows that he loves Heather.
But he was despicable enough to use that affection to hurt Heather a few times, and now that Heather is gone, he still won’t bow down and admit he was wrong.
Gwen Fox came here today for Yolanda Taylor, but seeing Ham Rodriguez, he knows that he can’t save Yolanda Taylor if Ham Rodriguez is still so obsessed.
“She doesn’t love you anymore, Ham Rodriguez, face it.”
As cruel as it was, he had to tell him.
“No way! She’s loved me for thirteen years!”
Ham Rodriguez raised his hand and pushed everything in front of his desk to the floor, his face tense, the veins on his forehead like sinuous reptiles, and it was terrifying to watch.
Gwen Fox looked at him coldly, and added, “Everyone gets tired.”
When he finished, he actually felt that those words were more like what he should have heard.
Maybe Yolanda Taylor was right, he and Ham Rodriguez were the same person in a way.
The same stubbornness.
“If you still consider me your friend, drop the charges or you’ll not only never find Heather, you’ll lose me forever.” Not wanting to say any more, Gwen Fox turned away from Ham Rodriguez’s office at the end of her sentence and rushed to meet Yolanda Taylor at the detention center.
