After Gwen Fox got out of the shower, he found Yolanda Taylor holding his cell phone.
He gave a rare startled look, “What’s wrong?”
“Lewis sent you a message, saying that the matter of your company’s leaked bidding proposal for the South Station project before has been cleared up.”
Yolanda Taylor said, raising her hand and handing him her cell phone.
Gwen Fox reached out and took the phone, and when he clicked in, he saw, President Fox, the matter of the leaked proposal has been found out, and the specifics have been sent to your email address, but this matter is a bit tricky, and it has something to do with the wife.
Lewis’s wording was already very careful, but Gwen Fox knew what was going on at a glance.
He didn’t need to look at the specific contents of the mailbox, although Lewis only said that this matter had something to do with Yolanda Taylor, but as he looked at the person sitting on the bed, Gwen Fox knew that this matter was not just a little bit related.
Seeing him look over, Yolanda Taylor moved a little: “It’s me who did it, I know that you want to take this project very much, and have been thinking about how to get your program, but I’ve never had the chance, I didn’t think that day Mrs. Linda would go to your company there.”
She originally thought that there was really no way to just let it go like that, but she didn’t expect that Mrs. Linda would suddenly make a scene at Gwen Fox’s company that day.
And Gwen Fox also invited people to his office, and just that program in front of Gwen Fox’s desktop.
Gwen Fox didn’t say anything, he looked down at her for a while, and then put the cell phone in his hand to one side: “Are you tired today?”
As if nothing had happened, he sat down on the bed and reached out to touch her.
Yolanda Taylor frowned a little and avoided his hand, “Aren’t you having a hard time?”
“Just making less money.”
Yolanda Taylor hadn’t expected him to think that way, she pursed her lips for a second, “Do you know why I’m doing this?”
“Haven’t you always wanted to get back at me?”
He was well aware of that, but if that was all it was, then it was too good for him.
Yolanda Taylor looked at him and laughed softly, “Primo Jones said he wanted the program.”
At her words, Gwen Fox’s face changed.
She knew how to get the worst of him, just like she used to know how to keep him from getting angry.
She had ways to take the edge off of him before, and she had ways to make him feel bad now.
Gwen Fox knew she was saying it on purpose to piss herself off, and he told himself he couldn’t get angry, couldn’t do what she wanted.
But she couldn’t help it, and even though there was only a one-in-a-million chance that the statement was true, he was still seething with jealousy.
But he couldn’t help her.
“Dear.”
He called down to her for a moment, lifting his hand and pulling her forcefully to the side of his arms, “Could you, please, not say things like that?”
He looked down at her, his black eyes dark, the agonizing hardness mixed with pleading and a touch of humility.
Yolanda Taylor struggled a bit, couldn’t break free, she looked up at him, “I’m just telling the truth, there’s nothing I can do if you can’t accept it.”
Gwen Fox just felt his heart being hammered hard by her, a rusty taste of blood turning up inside his throat.
It was hard for him to look into those unforgiving almond eyes, and he raised a hand to cover Yolanda Taylor’s gaze.
He couldn’t stand her looking at him like that.
As the kiss fell, Yolanda Taylor bit down hard on his tongue.
Gwen Fox ate the pain, and he backed away, his dark eyes looking straight at her, a thousand thoughts in them, as if they were tumbling waves.
But in the end, it calmed down inside.
He let go, “Sleep.”
After saying that, he turned sideways and turned off the light inside the room.
The room was plunged into darkness, and Yolanda Taylor sat there for two seconds before lying down on her side.
It was beyond Yolanda Taylor’s imagination that Gwen Fox didn’t throw a fit over such a big deal.
She didn’t fall asleep right away and was awake in the darkness for a long time until she couldn’t hold on to her sleepiness and Yolanda Taylor drifted off to sleep.
Saturdays were the busiest time of the year, and she’d been busy all day yesterday and all day today.
The breathing calmed down beside her and Gwen Fox knew Yolanda Taylor was asleep.
He opened his eyes and looked sideways at her left at the back of his head.
It was so dark inside the room that he couldn’t actually see anything but barely see her right in front of him.
That project was billions, a few pictures of her went out and FG lost the project.
But he had money, although billions was not a small amount, but she liked it, he did not blink an eyebrow.
But it’s not about the money, she says, it’s because Primo Jones wants the project.
So she’d done all this for Primo Jones? He didn’t know if her statement was true or not, he couldn’t tell the truth from the inside of her words now.
He hoped it was false, but he knew that it was probably true.
After all, once upon a time, she had come so close to marrying Primo Jones.
As the night grew quieter, Gwen Fox reached for her cell phone, and the top of the lit screen said it was twelve o’clock.
He went into his mailbox and quickly skimmed through the email Lewis had sent.
In fact, this matter is not difficult to investigate, that program handled by so many people, the company’s surveillance call out, basically can guess who did it.
Lewis probably did not think of tuning his office surveillance at the beginning, just check to the end of the really no clues, he just sent him such a message.
Gwen Fox deleted the email straight after reading it and sent Lewis a text message.
A busy weekend had left Yolanda Taylor exhausted, and she got a rare good night’s sleep, waking up the next day when it was already light outside.
It just wasn’t a very nice day, gray and dreary, as if it had rained again.
Gwen Fox was no longer in bed, and she propped herself up and sat up, Yolanda Taylor a little disoriented at the thought of the confrontation between the two last night.
He hadn’t done anything, and it was making her uncomfortable.
After she shuffled out, Gwen Fox came up from the gym below as well.
His gym clothes were already wet as he walked over to her, and the smell of him was obvious, mixed with the scent of a specially-tuned perfume, which wasn’t really bad, it just smelled a little heavy.
Yolanda Taylor remembered how he used to like to hug her after a workout, rubbing her all over his scent, and occasionally, when it was Saturday and he didn’t need to rush, he’d drag her into the bathroom to do whatever he wanted.
Gwen Fox had always been cool and reserved, and it was at times like these that he made her think he had a wicked sense of humor, too.
She was shy but not obnoxious; it was like a man’s possessiveness, a woman’s submission.
It was similar to the way animals used their scent to circle territory and dominate everything, and for a long time, even, it made her think that Gwen Fox was using it as a sign of affection.
Now that she thought about it, it was just a man simply being bossy.
Yolanda Taylor retrieved her thoughts and went into the checkroom to change.
