It was after eight p. m. when she came out of the clinic, and Gwen Fox told her to sit on the sidelines while he went to pay the bill.
Yolanda Taylor leaned against the wall with her eyes closed, and it wasn’t long before she saw the young couple that had followed them approach.
The boy was holding the girl, who didn’t look very well, she was sickly and looked sick, but even so, the smile on her face didn’t stop.
When I was young, I thought love was everything, so even if I was sick, as long as my favorite person was around, I felt it was a happy thing.
She used to be like that too, working multiple part-time jobs despite her poor health, and catching a cold every time there was a change of season.
Gwen Fox had given her cold faces several times because of this, but at that time she thought he loved her, so even if she was being mean and scolded, she still felt that she was a happy person.
She didn’t know why, obviously everything seemed so good, they didn’t have a serious fight until they separated, but he didn’t want her when he said he didn’t want her anymore.
Tears flowed down one by one, she lowered her head and reached out to catch them all in her palm.
When Gwen Fox returned from picking up her medication, this was the scene he saw.
He only felt a bitter lump in his throat, and hurriedly raised his leg and walked over, “What’s wrong?”
She looked up, her eyes full of tears.
Yolanda Taylor couldn’t see his face clearly anymore, but could hear that it was his voice.
She looked at him for a moment and lifted her finger to her left chest, “It’s hard here, Gwen Fox, I’m hard here?” She said and huffed, “Why did you lie to me? Why?”
She was also truly and passionately in love with him ah, those three years inside she also countless times envisioned the future ah, why is he so cruel.
Gwen Fox took out a tissue and wiped the tears on her face, which were very hot, just like the fire back then.
As he withdrew his hand, all of a sudden a tear fell onto his hand.
He shuddered, only to feel as if his hand had been burned hard.
Yolanda Taylor was burning up, what had been over thirty-eight degrees before she came to the hospital was now almost forty.
He picked her up and walked her towards the bed in the IV room, the nurse came in to call her name and was stunned to see the tear-stained Yolanda Taylor, “What’s wrong with her?”
“Fever is unbearable.”
“If something’s wrong, you have to tell us.”
“Uh-huh.”
Gwen Fox answered and helped Yolanda Taylor pull up her left sleeve.
Probably sterilized a bit cold, Yolanda Taylor’s hand shrank a bit, “Missy, you can’t move it.”
“I’ll hold it down.” Gwen Fox forcefully clasped her hand, and when the needle stuck in, Yolanda Taylor huffed, “It hurts-”
It didn’t really hurt very much, she just felt bad, all over.
After the injection, the nurse instructed Gwen Fox to tell Yolanda Taylor to drink more water.
There were quite a few people inside the hospital room, and Yolanda Taylor seemed to have already fallen asleep, except that her face was terribly pale and her lips were bloodless white.
It was almost eleven o’clock at night after the IV was administered, Yolanda Taylor’s fever had subsided and she was much more awake.
Gwen Fox poured her a glass of lukewarm water, and without saying anything, she meekly took it and drank it.
When he left, he held her hand, and she didn’t struggle.
When they got back to the villa, Yolanda Taylor took her medicine and slept through it.
The illness had afflicted her for days, and it wasn’t until Wednesday that she was much better.
Gwen Fox kept an eye on her as she took her medication in the morning and didn’t go to the office until after nine.
After a good night’s sleep, it was now after twelve.
The maid had made lunch and Yolanda Taylor went downstairs to eat it and call CoCo.
She was glad that she had hired a director before this, otherwise these days when she was sick and it was a busy time, the store would probably be in chaos.
After hanging up the phone, Yolanda Taylor heard the sound of an engine from outside.
The black Lincoln drove into the villa, she lowered her eyes, put the cell phone aside, received a cup of hot water and put it on the table to prepare for the medicine.
She had just sat down when Gwen Fox pushed her way in.
Yolanda Taylor looked up at him, he hadn’t slept much these past few days with her having trouble sleeping in the middle of the night and he had been affected by it.
Gwen Fox used to have a very serious waking up temper, he could easily lose his temper and curse when he had a bad night’s sleep or when he just woke up.
This time he was like a different person, every time she woke up in the middle of the night, he was asking her if she wanted water or food.
How good he was to her now made her feel how pathetic she used to be.
He wasn’t exactly treating her badly before, it’s just that women are calculating, being attentive and careless aren’t the same thing in the end, but a little bit of small details can be compared.
“Still feverish?”
“Gwen Fox.”
She opened her mouth to call out, the first time she’d called him that in days.
He looked at her and lifted his leg to walk next to her: “What’s wrong?”
“You never used to be this patient.”
She remembered the old days and realized that they were all fake.
Three years with him, she had been sick like this five or six times, but he had sent her straight to the hospital.
That time was young, or maybe it was stupid then.
Now that I think about it, where was it, but it was just a rare occasion that he took out his full patience to stay with her.
After she finished, she poured those medicines in front of the table inside the palm of her hand, her other hand took the cup of cooled hot water on the side, and tilted her head back to drink the medicine.
The doctor didn’t know what he had prescribed, and one melted fast and filled her mouth with bitterness.
She frowned a little and looked at him, “How nice you are to me now only reminds me of how fake you used to be to me.”
She finished, getting up and walking to her study.
Christmas was in January this year, and FG had taken the entire year off three days before.
Yolanda Taylor couldn’t actually get away even though she said she was going to Oman City for Christmas; the studio took seven weddings, which took up almost every day of the year.
On Christmas Eve, the babysitter in the villa was out of town.
Gwen Fox asked Lewis to send over a lot of New Year’s goods and ingredients, but she didn’t do it, Gwen Fox didn’t know how to do it, and in the end it just piled up in the refrigerator.
Outside, there’s Christmas cheer everywhere, but Yolanda Taylor isn’t happy at all.
Four years ago today, she had a fire that burned it all down.
Gwen Fox said she’d booked Christmas dinner out and told her to change and the two of them would go out to eat.
She didn’t move, withdrawing her gaze from looking out the window to look straight at him, “Have you forgotten, Gwen Fox?”
His entire body stiffened at her words.
He knew what she was going to say, but he didn’t want to hear it.
“Dear–”
He looked to her, pleading inside his eyes.
Yolanda Taylor looked at him and suddenly laughed, “Gwen Fox, when did you become such a coward? Do you remember what you said back then? I think you might have forgotten, but it’s okay, I remember it all, let me give you a refresher!”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox only felt a blow to the head, he subconsciously went over and hugged her, “Let’s not talk about it, okay, let’s not talk about it?”
