Chapter 157 I’m just going to hold you and do nothing else

Book:Welcome To My Life Published:2024-6-3

When Lewis received the call from Yolanda Taylor, the person had already arrived at the entrance of the neighborhood.
Yolanda Taylor on the other end of the line was calm, she said for him to come over, something had happened to Gwen Fox.
Lewis was completely unable to tell from her voice what had happened to Gwen Fox, and was only able to slam the car door back shut and tell the driver to drive back.
When the car stopped in front of the villa again, it was already half an hour later.
Lewis got out of the car and hurriedly ran inside, the front door was closed, he had a spare key in his hand and opened the door and ran all the way up.
There was only one night light on the second floor, there couldn’t have been anyone, the third floor was quiet and a little depressing, just the light coming through the doorway of the master bedroom that was very obvious.
He raised his hand and knocked on the door, and soon enough, Yolanda Taylor’s voice came from inside, “Come in.”
Lewis pushed the door to enter, the door just pushed open, he saw sitting on the sofa Gwen Fox is holding cotton to press the forehead, Yolanda Taylor sitting on the side of the single sofa, the two people who did not say anything, the inside of the large bedroom inexplicably depressing, and the side of a floor of pieces of china.
Lewis walked over to the sofa, it was then that he saw clearly that the blood was seeping a little too much from the wound on Gwen Fox, he was startled for a moment, “President Fox?” “Please take him to the hospital.”
The words came from Yolanda Taylor, and when she said it, she had a light expression on her face and a light tone, as if Gwen Fox’s wound was no big deal.
But Lewis was a big man looking at it and it was shocking, the cotton holding down the wound was already covered in blood, it was hard to see how big the wound was, but the ball of cotton was almost as big as the palm of his hand.
Lewis nodded and walked to Gwen Fox’s side: “President Fox, let me take you to the hospital.”
Hearing him, Gwen Fox inclined her head to look at Yolanda Taylor, “You go too.”
Yolanda Taylor looked at him and didn’t say anything, Gwen Fox didn’t say anything either, except that he didn’t move either.
The two people just stood there for a while, finally Yolanda Taylor went back to her room to get her coat with a cold face.
By this time it was already after ten at night, and none of the hospital specialties were open, leaving only the emergency department.
Lewis hung up at the emergency room, but there were quite a few people in front of him, so they had to wait.
He finished registering and came back, and saw Yolanda Taylor and Gwen Fox sitting on the waiting chair, both of their faces were not very good, looking not like a couple, like enemies.
But it wasn’t just haters.
Lewis sighed and took the number to Yolanda Taylor, then turned to get a hot drink.
It was almost eleven o’clock when it was Gwen Fox’s turn, and he was still bleeding from his wound, which wasn’t very deep, but just a little too big, with seven stitches.
The stitches can’t be anesthetized, he pulled Yolanda Taylor’s wrist with one hand, didn’t say a word, and pinched her when it hurt.
Yolanda Taylor was pinched by him to the point of pain, the face is white, the two people from the nursing room out, no one’s face is better than anyone.
It was almost twelve o’clock when they reentered the villa, Yolanda Taylor changed her clothes and stood in the doorway of the bathroom looking at him coldly, “Do you still want to make a scene?”
Gwen Fox looked at her, his deep black eyes moved slightly, “That is your obligation as a wife!”
After he finished speaking, he lifted his leg and went into the bathroom.
There in the side hall was still a mess, the two had knocked over quite a few things in their argument, pieces of china were everywhere on the floor, and the white sofa cloth was still stained with Gwen Fox’s blood.
She looked at it for a moment, rolled up the sofa cloth and threw it inside the washing machine, then took a broom and swept up the porcelain pieces.
By the time she was done, Gwen Fox was out of the shower.
She stood on the couch and looked at him, “I’m going to sleep in the guest room tonight.”
“Yolanda Taylor!”
He opened his mouth and called out to her, anger pressed inside that voice.
She looked back at him, “I’m not going to argue with you, Gwen Fox.”
“I’m not going to argue with you.”
His heart ached at the look she gave him and his voice lowered, the anger that was wrapped around it was gone.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say anything, and the two of them just stared at each other for a long time before she lifted her leg and walked back.
She was tired after all the fuss, and her voice was a little hoarse.
Lying back on the bed, Yolanda Taylor turned on her side to him.
The mattress was so soft that she could clearly feel every movement Gwen Fox made.
All the time his hand came up, Yolanda Taylor subconsciously raised her hand to try and wrench it away from him, but she couldn’t, “Gwen Fox!”
“I’m just going to hold you and do nothing.”
His eyes were closed and his voice was a little tired.
The two were close enough together that Yolanda Taylor could even smell that disinfectant on his forehead.
She didn’t move in the end, just letting him hold her.
Both of them were tired, and I don’t know who fell asleep first, the room became quieter and quieter.
When Yolanda Taylor woke up the next day, Gwen Fox was no longer in bed.
She got out of bed and went into the bathroom to wash up, and when she came out she heard Gwen Fox on the phone.
Yolanda Taylor pulls the door open and walks out, seeing the gauze taped to his forehead, her eyes flickering as she crosses to him and walks over to the dresser, “I’m going to Oman City tomorrow.”
“You’re afraid I’m going to lie to you?”
Yolanda Taylor glanced back at him and didn’t say anything.
She wouldn’t be satisfied until she saw for herself that Dika Rothstein was safe.
There was a moment of silence before Gwen Fox spoke, “I’ll accompany you there.”
“Do you think Dika Rothstein wants to see you?”
“That’s his business.”
Yolanda Taylor’s face froze for a moment, she knew she couldn’t stop him and said no more.
Presumably because of last night’s hard time, Gwen Fox hadn’t made any more requests to touch her today.
When she got up in the morning, it was foggy outside, Yolanda Taylor had packed her bags last night, not much really, she hadn’t planned on staying in Oman City for long.
The driver came by early and Gwen Fox was on the phone the whole way.
She looked out the car window, it was overcast outside, it wasn’t a good day.
The two were photographed at the airport, the cut on Gwen Fox’s forehead was very visible, the media loves these self-serving speculations.
The two had just gotten on a plane, and then rumors spread throughout Borden City about the two arguing and fighting shortly after they were married.
Lewis was so shocked when he found out that he was sweating profusely and rushed to get someone to take care of it.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know about it, and even if she did, she didn’t care.
She’d been forced to marry Gwen Fox, and she had no intention of playing a lovey-dovey couple with him.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say no to the man Lewis sent to pick her up.
After dropping off her things at the hotel, Yolanda Taylor grabbed her bag and headed out the door.
Gwen Fox was on the phone when she left the house, and when his afterglow swept her back, he wrinkled his eyebrows, lifted his leg and chased after her, clasping her wrist, “Where are you going?”
“To meet Dika Rothstein’s secretary.”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s face visibly stiffened, “I’ll accompany you there.”
“No need.”
She refused outright, pulling the door open and exiting the room.
