“You can’t afford to pay it back, Gwen Fox.”
She gave him a look, sarcasm inside her reddened almond eyes, but more than that, hate.
You can’t afford it, Gwen Fox.
Yes, he couldn’t afford it.
When Yolanda Taylor left, Gwen Fox didn’t go after her.
She would always come back for him, he believed.
Gwen Fox closed his eyes, pushed down the pain, lifted his leg and walked to the window, looked at Yolanda Taylor who ran out, don’t know why, the whole person is like being hammered by a wooden stick, stuffy and painful.
It was too much to bear.
There was a knock on the study door and he opened his eyes, “Who is it?”
“It’s me, Young Master Fox.”
First said, pushing the door open and coming in.
First didn’t dare to go inside, standing there in the doorway rubbing his hands together again and again before speaking, “Young Master Fox, Miss Taylor is a girl, you need to coax her, don’t always force her to do things she doesn’t like.”
Hearing First’s words, Gwen Fox pulled her lips coolly, “I know, First.”
Seeing him blush, First didn’t say anything else, sighed, and turned to leave the study.
But if Yolanda Taylor could still listen to a word he said, he wouldn’t have to come to this point.
He also wanted to coax her, but she wouldn’t listen, what else could he do?
Yolanda Taylor called Dika Rothstein three times in a row, but no one answered the phone.
She knew that if Gwen Fox said something like that, then nine times out of ten it was true.
It probably had something to do with Gwen Fox, and when the fourth call went dead, Yolanda Taylor gave up.
She stood at the edge of the villa, the cold winter wind blew over, Yolanda Taylor felt like ice.
She didn’t know how long she stood there before she picked up her cell phone and called a car to come in and take her back to her apartment.
On the way, she directly booked a ticket to fly to Oman City in the afternoon, and after packing her things, Yolanda Taylor went downstairs and stopped a car to go to the airport.
On a Saturday, the airport was crowded, and she was early, so after explaining to CoCo and the others what was going on at the store, she remembered that she hadn’t eaten lunch.
Martin Anderson didn’t see Yolanda Taylor at first, it was Vera Carey beside him who pushed him: “Look over there, is that Miss Taylor?”
Martin Anderson didn’t think it was Yolanda Taylor for a moment, “What Miss Taylor, what are you talking about again?”
Vera Carey grunted, “Why don’t you see for yourself?”
Martin Anderson had to follow her line of sight and froze when he saw Yolanda Taylor.
“Miss Taylor doesn’t seem to be in the right state, why don’t we go over and take a look?”
Indeed, Yolanda Taylor, sitting in the waiting chair, was in a bit of a daze, and her face was so lightly made up that her bloodless complexion couldn’t hide it.
Martin Anderson held Vera Carey and walked over, “Yolanda?” Hearing someone call her, Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment, and when she looked up, she realized that it was Martin Anderson, and next to Martin Anderson was also stood Vera Carey.
She smiled, “Long time no see, Young Master Anderson, Miss Carey.”
Vera Carey smiled back, “Yeah, where is Miss Taylor going with this?”
“Oman City.”
She pursed her lips for a second, “You guys hanging out?”
“Yeah, it just so happens he has a vacation.”
Vera Carey didn’t know Yolanda Taylor very well and could only talk about these superficial topics.
She wasn’t self-conscious either, and simply raised her hand and touched Martin Anderson beside her.
Martin Anderson frowned a little, “Is something wrong?”
Yolanda Taylor froze and tried to nod, but finally shook her head, “Nothing.”
By this time, just as her flight was cueing up for boarding, she grabbed her bag aside, “I’ll talk to you some other time, I’m boarding.”
“Okay, have a safe trip.”
Looking at Yolanda Taylor’s back, Vera Carey grunted, “I heard Young Master Fox married her, is that true or not?”
Martin Anderson shook his head, “I don’t know.”
He really didn’t know, he and Gwen FoxJerome Perot although they knew and had friendship, but not considered to be in the same circle, the truth or falsehood of these things, naturally, could not be asked for confirmation.
Vera Carey retracted her eyes, “I think this thing is true in nine out of ten cases.”
“Why?”
“Because a few days ago Gwen Fox suddenly found Vivian Perot.”
Martin Anderson and Jerome Perot they were not familiar with, but Vera Carey and Vivian Perot were good friends.
Hearing his fiancée’s words, Martin Anderson’s face sank, “That’s really not good news.”
“What, you’re still in love?”
Martin Anderson smiled helplessly, “How dare I? Don’t you think that Yolanda Taylor was pretty miserable when she ran into Gwen Fox?”
Vera Carey thought about it and nodded back, “Indeed.”
She was genuinely shocked by that fire in the first place.
It was about a two hour flight, and it was just after five in the afternoon when they arrived in Oman City.
Yolanda Taylor got off the plane and took a taxi directly to Dika Rothstein’s company, the receptionist had changed and didn’t recognize her, she didn’t have an appointment and couldn’t get on.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t give the receptionist a hard time and called Quentin’s number.
Quentin was Dika Rothstein’s secretary, so if something really happened to Dika Rothstein, it would be better to call Quentin than anyone else.
The call was answered quickly, and Quentin was surprised to hear that she was at the front desk of the company, and immediately called the front desk to let her in.
Yolanda Taylor got into the elevator and the receptionist kept apologizing.
“That’s okay.”
She smiled faintly as the elevator doors closed and the smile on Yolanda Taylor’s face disappeared completely.
“Miss Taylor-” “Quentin.”
Quentin greeted her just as she stepped out from inside the elevator.
Yolanda Taylor got straight to the point: “What happened to Dika Rothstein?”
Hearing her words, Quentin’s color changed slightly, but soon, he recovered, “Something did happen to Godfather of Dika.”
“What is it?”
Quentin glanced at her, “A few days ago, when we had a batch of goods leaving customs, it was found to be problematic by a random inspection, and Dika Rothstein was summoned for questioning yesterday.”
Hearing Quentin’s words, Yolanda Taylor’s face changed for a moment, “It hasn’t come out until now?”
“Godfather of Dika should be able to come out this afternoon, it’s just that this matter, it might not be that easy to solve.”
Yolanda Taylor actually doesn’t understand these issues very well, she only knows that something did happen to Dika Rothstein, Gwen Fox’s hand can’t be that long, and he can’t possibly reach out to the customs.
Something is wrong with Dika Rothstein’s goods, then there must be something wrong with Dika Rothstein’s goods for sure!
Gwen Fox dared to say such words, thinking that he had proof that Dika Rothstein’s original goods were problem-free.
She pursed her lips, “I’ll go with you to pick up Dika Rothstein this afternoon.”
“Okay, Miss Taylor, Godfather of Dika hasn’t seen you in a while.” Yolanda Taylor smiled coolly, “It’s been a long time.”
Last time he just went with them to the airport and took his own flight straight back to Oman City.
“Miss Taylor this way, you can wait in the lounge for a moment.”
“Thank you, go about your business.”
Quentin was indeed busy, and soon after the man left someone else was bringing her small sips of hot tea.
Yolanda Taylor’s hands were cold and it took her holding the teacup for her fingers to slowly warm up.
