“What are you doing here?”
She stood there looking at him with a cold look on her face.
Gwen Fox didn’t answer her question, “I came to pick you up.”
Yolanda Taylor looked at the bland expression on his face and just felt the pent up emotions coming up at any moment.
But she didn’t want to argue with him here, “No need.”
After saying that, she lifted her leg and crossed over him and walked to the side of the road, just wanting to get her cell phone to call a car, but when she raised her eyes, she saw several reporters standing on the opposite side.
Yolanda Taylor’s face stiffened, and Gwen Fox, who was following her, reached out and pulled her a bit: “They’ve been following you, if you take a cab back, they’ll follow you just the same.”
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor put her cell phone back and inclined her head to look at him: “Gwen Fox, do you think that the past is behind you when you’re like this?”
He gave him a look, “I didn’t think that.”
Yolanda Taylor was about to say something when he had reached out and taken her wrist: “Get in the car first, they’re coming.”
Yolanda Taylor was pulled aside by him, he was so strong that her wrists were crazy from his grip, but Gwen Fox was not wrong, the reporters did come from the opposite side of the road.
She wasn’t a public figure, but Gwen Fox was the chairman of FG, so she was half a public figure.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t want to get into Gwen Fox’s car, but she didn’t want to be photographed arguing with Gwen Fox.
Gwen Fox’s car was parked on the side, Yolanda Taylor was just stuffed into his car, the reporters were already running up to her.
Gwen Fox slammed the car door shut and turned around to be surrounded by those few reporters, he coldly looked at the few reporters in front of him, “Get out of the way.”
The windows of the car were specially treated, Yolanda Taylor could see outside, but the reporters outside couldn’t see Yolanda Taylor inside, they wanted to take some photos to expose some exclusive news, but now they couldn’t take any photos.
In addition, Gwen Fox in Borden City has always been not easy to offend, and now he is standing there with a cold face, and his voice is ice-cold, which makes people shiver.
Several reporters looked at each other, although very reluctant, but no one really dared to offend Gwen Fox, hesitation struggled for a few seconds after they also retreated one by one.
One side of the car door was pulled open, Yolanda Taylor holding the cell phone’s finger slightly moved, but only moved a little, she did not even look at him a glance, inclined her head to look at the car window outside the few reporters.
As the car drove onto the intercity highway, Yolanda Taylor frowned, “Where do you want to take me again?”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox glanced at her, “There are a lot of reporters, so you can stay over at the villa for a few days first.”
“No need.”
She refused outright, but Gwen Fox didn’t say anything, clearly not intending to listen to her.
Yolanda Taylor saw that he was not moved, and the expression on her face became colder and colder: “Gwen Fox, I said no need, did you hear what I said or not?”
“Heard you.”
The expression on his face did not change, and his voice did not have a few ups and downs.
This kind of lightheartedness completely provoked Yolanda Taylor, but now is in the car, she can not do anything, also dare not do, can only look sideways hard at him.
Fifteen minutes later, the car finally stopped.
Gwen Fox got out of the car, went around to the passenger side, and pulled open her door, “Here we are, you’re staying here for the next few days, if you want to go out, just have the driver drop you off.”
“I’m going back to my apartment.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t move, she still had her seatbelt on her, and the gesture made it clear that she wasn’t going to get out of the car.
Gwen Fox looked at her, emotions rolling inside her dark eyes.
After a moment of stalemate, he leaned down and reached out to unbuckle her seatbelt, but Yolanda Taylor lifted her hand to hold it down, “Don’t you understand a word, Gwen Fox?”
“Listen.”
He said in a hushed voice before pulling her hand away and undoing the seatbelt straight away.
Yolanda Taylor wasn’t half as strong as Gwen Fox and she couldn’t stop him.
Looking at the unbuckled seatbelt, Yolanda Taylor looked up at him coldly and repeated, “I’m going back to the apartment!”
“I’ll carry you out of the car?”
He acted as if he hadn’t heard her at all and watched as his hand lifted, looking as if he was going to carry her out of the car.
Yolanda Taylor knew deep down that he would do what he said, but she didn’t want him to carry her out of the car.
She pushed him away with a raised hand and simply lifted her legs and got out of the car herself.
The villa was where she’d met him when she was first with him, when they’d been complete lovers, seeing each other twice or three times a week, and most of their activities had been in that bed.
Gwen Fox never stayed overnight at the villa, even on weekends, and would drive away as soon as it was over.
There was a time when he was chased here by those gossip reporters, and she was almost raked over the coals, except that the news didn’t come out for long, and Gwen Fox let Lewis take care of things, and the internet couldn’t find half the news about her anymore.
The first time Gwen Fox stayed the night was because Lamar Fox sent someone to find her, that day was Saturday, after she finished her work on Friday, she came over here to wait for Gwen Fox, but he didn’t come on Friday night, and the next morning after she had just finished her breakfast, Lamar Fox’s people came.
She’d never forget that day, when she’d looked like a mole in Lamar Fox’s eyes.
In less than half an hour of conversation, he hadn’t said a single heavy word, yet he’d already left her speechless.
She was sent back at eleven o’clock, and just as she got out of the car she saw Gwen Fox standing on the second floor of the villa.
He hadn’t asked her what Lamar Fox had said or how she felt, just that Gwen Fox hadn’t left after that night was over.
And then after that, Gwen Fox would almost always spend the night, and then he thought that this side of the villa was a little far from the city, and also a little out of the way of their school, so he just let Lewis buy another villa, the one she burned four years ago, and let her go over there to stay on the weekends.
Later on, her junior year classes were much less, and in order to earn money, she almost always worked part-time, and also completely moved from the school to the villa side.
Yolanda Taylor’s face paled a little at the thought of the old days.
She stood at the entrance of the stairs, looked up at Gwen Fox who was walking in front of her, and sneered, “Gwen Fox, are you being sarcastic?”
Bringing her back here again after so many years was to remind her once again how much of a criminal she had been at the time, actually taking no pennies and willingly being his lover.
Yeah, I guess there was no one who had been a lover who had been such a wimp as she had been, not asking for money or things, naively believing that this was a proper boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.
Hearing Yolanda Taylor’s words, Gwen Fox’s face changed for a moment, a pain in the bottom of his eyes and a slight lowering of his eyebrows, blocking out all the emotions, “You don’t like it here, we can change it again.”
He just thought that this was the place where they had just started, and bringing her back, she should still be able to hold on to a few moments of love, instead of all hate.
Little did he realize that, in Yolanda Taylor’s eyes, it was becoming a place of irony for her.
