Hanging up the phone, Dika Rothstein took a few hard drags on his cigarette.
He didn’t know if he was dead in the water, but he no longer had the courage to tell Yolanda Taylor that he was back, back to see her get married.
Probably not dead in the water yet, and probably about to be.
So many years had passed, and by now there was no way he could not talk himself out of letting it go, and pretend it was just an accident that year, that he had never seen her, never.
Stubbing out his cigarette, he looked back up at the apartment in front of him and turned back to the car.
This city, Dika Rothstein thought, was one he would probably never return to.
He was just about to drive away when he saw a familiar figure.
It was Gwen Fox!
He knew all the things that Gwen Fox did these days, and Dika Rothstein had to admit that even if he had been a gang member, he was not as much of an asshole as Gwen Fox.
If he could have forced himself into a relationship, he would have done so a long time ago.
Whether Gwen Fox had forced Yolanda Taylor to do this over and over again, whether it was love or resentment, Gwen Fox was the only one who knew.
Dika Rothstein looked at Gwen Fox, who was standing by that trash can smoking, and couldn’t help but snort, then pushed open the door and got out of the car, “Young Master Fox, long time no see.”
Hearing his voice, Gwen Fox looked up at him, his face was cool and his pair of black eyes were a bit cold, “Why are you here?”
“That’s a strange thing to say Young Master Fox, you can be here and I can’t?”
He said and grunted coldly, “Besides, I’m here to bless Yolanda, what are you here for, Gwen Fox, dare you say?”
Gwen Fox’s eyes twitched as he stubbed out the cigarette in his hand, then looked at Dika Rothstein, “Godfather of Dika is rather in love.”
“Not as much as Young Master Fox.”
He said sarcastically, “I don’t think I could ever do anything in my life to sabotage someone’s marriage license. Young Master Fox is pressing Yolanda like this, is it because you love her or is it because of your own unwillingness?”
Dika Rothstein finished, pressed a step closer, and then tilted her head back to look straight at him.
Gwen Fox shook her cigarette, “That’s not for Godfather of Dika to worry about.”
“Yolanda called me brother, that’s all I have to worry about!”
“Brother?”
Gwen Fox suddenly laughed a little, he laughed chillingly and looked very ruthless, “Godfather of Dika is really chatty, do you have any blood relationship with Yolanda Taylor? This brother is unknown, and how much more noble are you than me!”
“I at least wouldn’t be like you and burn her ID and account book!”
Gwen Fox stubbed out her cigarette and leaned over slightly, looking coldly at Dika Rothstein from no more than a palm’s length away, and said, word for word, “Of course, because you’re more of a pussy than I am, and more of a wimp than I am.” With that, he turned and went back to his car.
He had come to find Yolanda Taylor, but Dika Rothstein was there, and going up there now would undoubtedly only make things difficult for Yolanda Taylor.
Watching Gwen Fox’s car gradually drive away, Dika Rothstein raised his leg and kicked the trash can in front of him, and only after a long time did he return to his car and leave the apartment.
Yolanda Taylor was, after all, getting married for the first time, and it was impossible not to be nervous.
Not only was she nervous, but she was also a little upset.
Gwen Fox hadn’t shown up for a week out of the blue, and she had a feeling that he was up to something.
Of course, she can’t accept that Gwen Fox’s love only goes so far than Gwen Fox’s plot.
He doesn’t even love her anymore, so how can she make it hard for him? With her complex and conflicting emotions intertwined, Yolanda Taylor has had some insomnia for the past two nights.
Finally the night before the wedding, Taryn and CoCo came over to spend it with her, decorating the apartment in the process.
With the sudden addition of two more people inside the apartment, and the fact that it was no longer cold and empty, Yolanda Taylor was finally a little more at ease, and that night, she had a rare good night’s sleep.
Early the next morning, Yolanda Taylor was pulled out of bed by Taryn.
The makeup artist had arrived and she had to start her makeup.
And the studio staff had arrived and were downstairs thinking about how they were going to screw Primo Jones and the others later.
Yolanda Taylor only had Taryn and CoCo as bridesmaids, so there were only two groomsmen on Primo Jones’ side.
Although Taryn and CoCo have never met, they have similar personalities and hit it off immediately. They changed into bridesmaids’ dresses and put on makeup, and then they were plotting how to make things difficult for the groom later on.
Yolanda Taylor sitting in front of the dresser, people are a little lost in thought, the makeup artist let her close her eyes, she listened to two times before responding.
Both Primo Jones and Yolanda Taylor had intended the wedding to be low-key, but the announcement of the day didn’t stop the press from staking out the place.
However, the apartment is gated and there is a security guard downstairs, so the press can’t get in, so it’s not like Yolanda Taylor’s place is a mess.
Yolanda Taylor has finished her make-up, it is already past ten and almost eleven o’clock, and the groom will be here in half an hour to pick her up.
CoCo had WhatsApp’d with one of the groomsmen and the two of them were live streaming the whole thing from their end.
As Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look over, the camera just happened to flash over Primo Jones.
He was wearing a white suit today, his whole body clean and handsome.
Primo Jones looks like his father, Cooper Jones, svelte and good-looking, with three-dimensional, well-defined features.
He seemed to be wearing makeup today, but the camera flashed so fast that Yolanda Taylor didn’t see it.
The photographer asked them to take some pictures and images for the documentary, and just as they finished, CoCo called out, “Coming, coming! Brothers and sisters! Block the door!”
Yolanda Taylor laughed at CoCo’s words.
But CoCo was so spineless that Primo Jones bought her off with a few red packets.
Primo Jones is rich and generous, the red envelope all the way to send, but also not stingy, all inside the hundred dollar bills.
CoCo and Taryn where have seen such a battle, immediately mutinied.
“Did I get here fast?”
Yolanda Taylor was still in a trance when Primo Jones stood in front of her, and when she looked up she saw him looking at her with a smile.
She couldn’t help but smile a little, “President Jones is rich and powerful, how do you plan to buy me off?”
She had hidden the wedding shoes herself, and to take her away, Primo Jones would still have to find the shoes.
Primo Jones raised his eyebrows and directly pulled out a black card, “Payroll card, is this sincere enough?”
Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment as the bridesmaids and groomsmen on the side coaxed, “Wow~”
Yolanda Taylor blushed for a moment, unable to help herself, she raised her hand and pointed under the bed.
Primo Jones looked down, “There isn’t one.”
“It should be under the mattress.”
With that, Primo Jones found it, and he tsked softly, “You’re hiding it so tight, do you not want to marry me?”
Yolanda Taylor held the black card in front of him, “President Jones don’t worry, I’ll marry you even for this card.”
Primo Jones bent down, “Come on up, Mrs. Jones.”
Mrs. Jones.
She froze for a moment, and with a shove from CoCo, she was on Primo Jones’ shoulders.
Primo Jones’ shoulders were broad and strong, just as she’d imagined, but at this point, all she could think about was Gwen Fox.
