“The door slammed shut with a loud bang.
Gwen Fox stood there, looking at the sturdy wooden door, trying to ring the doorbell again, her hand raised, but she couldn’t press it.
He knew that he was indirectly responsible for Petra’s death.
In this matter, Yolanda Taylor was right, he couldn’t argue, he couldn’t argue.
But who knew that he had only wanted her to stay with him?
Gwen Fox raised his hand and wiped his face, turned around and leaned his back against the door, lowered his head and slowly lit a cigarette.
This time, it is best not to let him find out who is behind the small action, as long as let him find out, he will make that person worse than death!
Yolanda Taylor had never regretted so much, regretting that day, immersed in Gwen Fox’s smile, she opened her mouth and answered “yes”.
If she hadn’t said yes that day, she wouldn’t be in so much pain.
The door closed and the room was so quiet that you could hear people breathing.
She leaned against the door panel and slid down a little.
The pain spread through her limbs and she really, really hated it!
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know how long she’d been in the doorway, and by the time she’d calmed down, her hands and feet were stiff and cold.
She hadn’t eaten nearly all day, and after squatting for over half an hour, her vision went black when she got up, and she almost fell to the floor.
It took her hand catching the doorknob to keep her from falling, and after she stood up, she leaned against the door for a moment to slow down until her vision cleared, and then she went into the kitchen to cook a noodle.
After eating the noodles, she took a shower and climbed back into bed.
Neither four years ago nor today was too much for her to bear, and all she wanted was for this day to pass quickly, it was really too overwhelming.
But as she lay in bed, she couldn’t sleep, as soon as she closed her eyes, it was all inside that video.
Yolanda Taylor did not know how long she had been lying in bed, when she opened her eyes again, it was already the next day.
The cell phone on the bedside had already run out of battery and turned off automatically, she also did not know how long she had slept.
Her head was a little heavy and her whole body was uncomfortable.
Yolanda Taylor got out of bed by holding onto the nightstand on the side, and after washing up and coming out, the doorbell was rung.
She stood in the bathroom doorway, two seconds passing before she walked over to open the door.
When she saw Primo Jones, Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips for a moment, “Why did you come over?”
“I called you this morning and didn’t answer.”
“My cell phone died, what time is it?”
Primo Jones passed his wrist in front of her eyes and Yolanda Taylor looked down to see that it was past eleven noon.
She glanced at him and raised a hand to rub her temples, “Sorry, didn’t sleep well last night.”
Primo Jones put the food on the table and turned back to see clearly that her face was a bit pale and her lips were covered with a layer of white frost, the whole person was sickly and her spirit was not good at first glance.
He subconsciously raised his hand and dropped it onto her forehead, “Fever?”
Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment, “I don’t think so, I just have a little headache.”
Primo Jones looked at her for a moment, “Why don’t you drink some porridge and I’ll get you a thermometer.”
“Primo Jones-”
She wanted to ask him about his marriage, but Primo Jones had already gone over to the couch.
Yolanda Taylor inclined her head at him, she really wasn’t feeling very well as a whole and she was a little hungry.
After looking at him for a moment, she took a seat in the chair, taking a spoon and stirring the porridge in front of her.
Primo Jones came over to her after finding the medicine cabinet and couldn’t help but frown a little when he saw her like this, waving the thermometer around before handing it over to her, “Don’t worry, I’ve already taken care of the video, and I’ve already had someone check out the people behind it.”
The video was quickly taken down and both Gwen Fox and Primo Jones’ people were checking to see who had actually put it out.
The video looks like it came out of road surveillance, and the person behind it has bad intentions as the video is being hyped up once again after four years.
It was only last night when Yolanda Taylor sent him a message out of the blue asking him who released the video on the internet that Primo Jones realized that she already knew about it.
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor nodded her head.
She seemed a lot calmer after a good night’s sleep.
He walked across to her and sat down, “Have you thought clearly about the marriage?”
Yolanda Taylor raised her head and looked at him fixedly, “I’ve thought about it.”
She had said it before, the pain that Gwen Fox had given her, she would double it back.
Primo Jones looked at her for a while, “I’ve already asked people to count the good days next month, in the afternoon Rhonda will announce the news that the two of us will get married next month, you don’t need to worry about other things, the invitation and the banquet, I’ll let Rhonda do it.”
“Uh-huh.”
“What kind of wedding do you want, I think you’re better at this than I am.”
“Good.”
Yolanda Taylor finally smiled, only it was all bittersweet.
After she and Gwen Fox had been together for two years, she had drawn a design, and at that time, everyone around her was saying that they were an extremely compatible couple, so she really thought that they were compatible, and naively even drew out a design for the wedding decoration.
It’s a pity that she was so reserved that she didn’t show the drawing to him, or else Gwen Fox would go crazy when he saw the wedding setup, right? What a pity.
“Yolanda?”
Primo Jones’ voice came and Yolanda Taylor retrieved her thoughts and looked up at him, “I’ve been giving you a lot of trouble lately.”
“Saying things like that?”
She smiled, “And probably more trouble for you in the future.”
“Then I’d like to see how much trouble you can get into.”
Yolanda Taylor smiled faintly and didn’t say another word, lowering her head and conscientiously sipping her porridge.
Ten minutes later, Primo Jones reached out, “Take out the thermometer.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t refuse either; she didn’t think she had a fever.
But the facts speak for themselves, she did have a fever, and it wasn’t low, thirty-eight degrees six.
Primo Jones frowned, “Let me take you to the hospital.”
“I’ll just take some medicine.”
“Don’t get sick and not want to get medical attention.”
He grimaced and Yolanda Taylor looked at him, “If the fever doesn’t go down then go again.”
The patient had said that, what else could he say?
Primo Jones left after feeding her the medicine and Yolanda Taylor was left alone inside the house.
She sat on the couch with a cup of hot water and watched the black screen TV, a little lost in thought.
Rhonda had always been efficient, and what Primo Jones ordered him to do usually came to fruition in a day.
It was only after eleven o’clock that Primo Jones said that he would announce the wedding news in the afternoon, she originally thought that it would take until five or six o’clock, but after three o’clock in the afternoon, all the news on the internet was about her and Primo Jones getting married.
Yolanda Taylor finally smiled when she saw the wedding announcement.
Gwen Fox’s heart, she wondered, would it hurt?
