Chapter 24 How Ridiculous

After that night, Milton Beale’s company was suddenly investigated, and it was rumored that Martin Anderson was not the one who was angry.
Yolanda Taylor had just come out of the elevator when she saw Martin Anderson standing in the doorway.
She froze for a moment and walked over, holding her suitcase, “Why did you come over?”
She had finished handing over her work and officially left today.
Martin Anderson reached over and took the case in her hand, “Congratulations, on your vacation.”
Yolanda Taylor smiled, “It could be a long vacation.”
He raised an eyebrow, cradling the case in one hand and holding the umbrella with the other, “Did you get the invitation from Xenia Davis?”
It had started raining suddenly this morning and it had been drizzling until now.
Yolanda Taylor followed him inside the curtain of rain, remembering Xenia Davis’ words yesterday, she lost her mind slightly, “Got it.”
“So are you coming over tonight?”
Tonight was Xenia Davis’s birthday reception at the Hans Hotel, so it was logical that Yolanda Taylor would not be invited, but Xenia Davis had personally sent the invitation to her, and it was only because of Gwen Fox.
She and Xenia Davis had been at odds since college, and then she had been with Gwen Fox for three years, and Xenia Davis probably hated her to death.
But she didn’t steal or rob during those three years, it was Xenia Davis herself who was incapable, and now she’s blaming her? Thinking of Milton Beale cutting her shirt with scissors that night, Yolanda Taylor hooked her lips in a smirk, “It’s hard to pass up a favor.”
Not only was she going to go, she was going to make her regret having invited her over tonight.
Did Xenia Davis think that Yolanda Taylor was so easy to bully because Gwen Fox didn’t care about her anymore? Then she, Xenia Davis, was too naive, she, Yolanda Taylor, had never been bullied like this since she was a child! If she didn’t spit this out, she would still be stuck there until she died!
Martin Anderson inclined his head to look at her, “Also.”
He reached out and pulled open the car door, gesturing for Yolanda Taylor to get in.
“Thanks.”
She wasn’t polite, Martin Anderson had helped her a lot during this time, even she was able to quit her job so quickly thanks to him.
Yolanda Taylor disliked owing others, but once or twice, besides Martin Anderson, she really didn’t know who she could find to save herself.
Once she thought that as long as Gwen Fox was around, no one could touch her.
But now, the person who wants to move her is Gwen Fox’s fiancée, future wife.
How ridiculous.
Fastening her seatbelt, Martin Anderson inclined his head at her, “You want to go over there now?”
“Want to eat something first.”
She was afraid she wouldn’t have much of an appetite to eat later.
“Good.”
The car drove slowly, Yolanda Taylor remembered what Beth Garcia asked her today, she inclined her head to look at Martin Anderson who was driving on the side, and couldn’t help but frown slightly, “The Milton Beale thing, did you have someone report it?”
Hearing her words, Martin Anderson inclined his head to look at her and pursed his lips for a moment of silence before speaking, “Although I also had this idea, it really wasn’t me who did it.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say anything else, since it wasn’t Martin Anderson, she didn’t care who it was.
Ahead was a red light, Martin Anderson looked at her sideways, Yolanda Taylor seemed to be in this state these days, silent with few words.
He hadn’t done the Milton Beale thing, but he’d heard that Gwen Fox had put someone on it.
But thinking about what Yolanda Taylor said in the car that night, Martin Anderson ended up not saying anything.
The green light came on, and he withdrew his eyes and restarted the car to drive forward.
