“Did it hurt you?”
Yolanda Taylor opened her eyes before the person could recover from that sudden change inside the dream.
She looked at Martin Anderson in front of her, her eyes fell to the tea egg he was holding in his hand, and it took her a long time to respond, “No, just a nightmare.”
After saying that, she pursed her lips for a second and inclined her head to look at the kettle beside her, a little bit wanting to drink water.
Noticing her glance, Martin Anderson immediately understood and poured her a glass of water, “Bad dream?”
Yolanda Taylor reached out and took it, “Thanks. Uh, had a nightmare.”
She bowed her head and pulled a sarcastic smile from the corner of her mouth as she thought about the dream she’d just had.
After drinking the water, her throat felt better.
Looking up at her IV bottle, which was still half full, Yolanda Taylor checked the time again, “I’ll be fine on my own, Young Master Anderson.”
Hearing her, Martin Anderson raised an eyebrow, “You’re kicking me out?”
Yolanda Taylor laughed a little, “You know that’s not what I meant.”
Joel Smith had also said that there were quite a few people staring at her during this period of time, if Martin Anderson stayed with her inside the hospital for one night, when they woke up tomorrow morning, they might be on the entertainment headlines.
Martin Anderson hummed, ”What are you afraid of? Now that both of us are single, even if we do get photographed, there’s nothing to say.”
Yolanda Taylor shook her head, “Haven’t you been in contact with the big miss of THE Garcia family recently?”
She was on good terms with Martin Anderson, so Martin Anderson’s affairs, sometimes when she heard about them, she would leave an ear to notice.
“What the old man meant, I didn’t think so.”
He said, pausing for a moment, “Or are you still not over Gwen Fox and afraid he’ll get the wrong idea?”
Yolanda Taylor heard his words and laughed coolly, “I, Yolanda Taylor, at least have some self-respect.”
Hearing her words, Martin Anderson nodded his head in satisfaction, “This is the end of the matter, what’s more, now the whole Borden City is waiting to see your jokes, Xenia Davis made such a mess, are you willing to do it?”
She was stunned for a moment, “What can I do if I’m not happy?”
She’d already lost, and all she could do now was make it less of a loss.
“That’s giving up on yourself? This is not the Yolanda Taylor I know. I’m such a golden bachelor in front of your eyes, you really don’t think about it?”
Yolanda Taylor cried a little, “What are you doing getting into this mess with me? That bit of gossip will be gone sooner or later anyway.”
Martin Anderson looked at her and smiled, “I can’t see past that, when has Yolanda Taylor ever been bullied like that?”
Hearing him say this, she suddenly felt her heart stutter and her eyes were sour.
Yes, when had she, Yolanda Taylor, ever been bullied like this?
She closed her eyes and held back her tears, “Thank you.”
“More than ten years of friendship and you’re telling me this?”
Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “Also oh.”
Who would have thought that they’d known each other since elementary school.
Martin Anderson was determined not to leave, Yolanda Taylor had no choice, she was also really tired, with an IV people are very sleepy, and after chatting with Martin Anderson for a while, she fell asleep.
When she woke up, it was dawn.
Yolanda Taylor moved a little, only to find Martin Anderson lying on the side of her bed asleep.
She froze for a moment and didn’t dare move.
Soon, though, Martin Anderson woke up, ate breakfast and took her temperature, and after making sure she was okay, he sent her home.
Yolanda Taylor went home and slept some more, and when she woke up again her phone was full of work calls.
Scrolling through her circle of friends, it came as no surprise that her last night with Martin Anderson was really everywhere.
Xenia Davis had even sent her a special post, meaning to ‘praise’ her.
She tugged at the corner of her mouth, her cheek still stinging from Joel Smith’s punch, and Yolanda Taylor commented with a couple of words before she tossed her phone aside and started to put on her makeup for the trip back to the office.
Xenia Davis was going to get her back for that whole mess she pulled on her last night, sooner or later.
