Book:Heart Speaks Published:2024-5-1

Reuben walked to the stage, holding the sword that was given to him by their master. His face looks pale as the drummer fling the sticks and beat the big drum, he stands still, gazing at Rederigo.
The blood of Santiago is still dripping down from the sword which Rederigo holds, and at first, he was happy that Rederigo killed Santiago because he deserves it, but he was sad because one of them would die too. Reuben remembers the day, when their master commands him and Roderigo to fight each other with long sticks, in the rain. And because of the love they have for each other, they don’t let the sticks strike each other.
“Who do you think you are fooling?” their master roared, “forget about being friends because right now, you are enemies to each other”
At the end of the day, their master had to punish them for disobeying his command and gave Santiago a big stick to give them a 50 stroke of the cane, which Santiago did with happiness. He would beat them as if they steal millions of dollars.
But now, they were holding swords, not to practice but to fight. And to fight to win or die. Roderigo, gazing at his old friends, still sees the love in his eyes.
They might have disobeyed if their master commands them to do this, they might have2 disobey even after knowing that Santiago would beat them at the end of the day, but they have no choice because it was the King’s commandments.
The drummer beat the drums again, and both of them dropped their swords.
“Nay, I can’t do this,” Reuben said
“I can’t too,” Roderigo said.
The crowd was surprised, and everyone starts murmuring, commenting, and questioning how dare they disobey the King’s commandments.
Alice stood up and face Henry. “We need to leave here right now. Tell Sophia to tell her friends to follow me, if they don’t want to die.”
Henry was scared and did as he was told.
“Why should we leave,” Ben asked
“If you don’t want to die,” Henry said.
“Anabelle,” Sophia said, “We can’t leave if Roderigo didn’t tell us to leave.”
“He can’t right now, he’s busy,” Henry said.
“Everywhere would soon become chaos, the king would command his soldiers to killed everyone,” Alice said, “Reuben would save himself, and he would be glad you guys save yourself too. If you buy my idea, follow me.” She looked at Henry and say, “Anabelle, let’s go.”
“She said the truth,” Lucy said, “Reuben won’t be able to save us when saving himself.”
“We need to follow her,” Bella said.
“Don’t worry about Reuben ” Alice said, “I know him very well, he would come back and look for you guys.”
The kind stood up, pouring his tea jars and cups away, and roared, “how dare you disobey my order?”
“Your highness,” the princess said, “please let them go.”
The king was so furious, he darted to her and slap her face. “They deserve death. They deserve an attack. Why should you defend them?” He darted back to his seat, yelling, “Kill them.” And his soldiers take out their swords.
Reuben looked at those teens and show them a sign to flee.
“We must leave now,” Alice shouted. And they all darted out and were ready to follow Alice anywhere, and then the hell in prison chambers became chaotic.
“Man,” Roderigo said, facing Reuben.
“Blood will flow,” Reuben said, adjusting the sword in his hands. “Hope Santiago’s toy will help you.”
Roderigo laughed. “Hey man, you are so funny, you haven’t changed a bit.”
And Reuben laughed too. “You haven’t changed a bit. Let’s have fun before the dummies attack.”
They sat down on the stage, laughing, King’s soldiers started inside, running towards them with swords and arrows.
“Hey man, How is your wife? Did she survive that day?” Roderigo asked him.
“Nay, Santiago killed her that day,” Reuben replied.
“Should I find you a new wife?”
Reuben laughed. “Have promised her before she died that I won’t marry another girl or woman except her.”
“What if she marries another man in heaven?”
“She can’t. She promised me that the half of her half is for me and the remaining half of her heart is also for me.”
“Wow. I love that nigga. You’re lucky”
The King’s soldiers get to them and stand still, gazing at them, and they were surprised to see them not caring about war.
“She kisses my lips under the apple trees that day. But I can’t believe that could be our last kiss.”
“Hey man, this is so touching.”
The king stood up and roared, “Why on earth are you waiting for? Slaught them.”
The king’s soldiers yelled and attack.
The two amigos stood up, and controlled the swords with their fingers to the other hand, the sword fling like batons, and cut off heads.
“Hey man, Do you know?” Reuben asked Roderigo.
“What?” Roderigo said, attacking flashes of swords towards his eyes.
“I saw Santiago, son, following some teens in the forest,” Reuben said, cutting off another head, and waiting for another head to cut off, but it seems they didn’t come closer again, so he took a step towards it.”
“I thought he was schooling?” Roderigo asked, cutting off right arms, and left legs, and then targeting enemies’ ears.
“Yes, he is like his father. He shot a girl and put a crime on an innocent child.”
“Oh!,” Roderigo said, “That’s bad.” Cutting off ears now.
“The innocent child was smart like me and jumped into the river to escape from the black clothes men”
“What do you mean by black clothes men.” Soldiers crying under his foot.
“Policemen,” Reuben said, cutting heads again, targeting enemies’ fingers now.
Roderigo laughed. “Hey man, you haven’t changed a bit.”
“The teens were searching for the innocent child to my house,” Reuben said, “They said he’s in this village. Did you help me notice any small boy in this village?”
“Nay man,” Roderigo said.
And then they dropped their swords. Blood flow on the stage and King feared. They looked at him in the eyes.
“Your highness,” Reuben said, “How many dummies remain in your chambers?”
