Chapter 570: Myopic

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

How exactly could she disappoint Albina?
Diana thought she needed to plan properly.
Hector left his mother’s room full of disappointment, carrying the large box carefully in his arms, and headed for the locked room on the second floor.
Bianca happened to come back from outside, saw him on the stairs, raised her head and said tenderly.
-Hector, you’re back….
Suddenly she saw the box Hector was holding in his arms, and paused for a moment before saying:
-The people from the Santangel family just brought the dress, and I put it in the bedroom when I saw you were gone.
Hector was not angry with his mother, he took a deep breath, and his tone was full of sorrow.
-Mom, I went to your room to look for you and I saw Diana rummaging through this dress. She was even comparing it…
She secretly accused Diana.
Bianca was stunned at her words and frowned.
It was her daughter’s thing, she actually felt a little uncomfortable when she heard Hector say it.
-It was my carelessness. I had just put the dress in the room to show you and your father and I didn’t close the door properly. Diana must not have done it on purpose.
She tried to suppress her discomfort in her mind and become rational.
It was also true that she had neglected this matter.
Diana happened to come out of her room, hearing this, she was sad and made an aggrieved face as she ran to Bianca.
-Mom, I really didn’t do it on purpose. I used to look at the dresses you kept in your room with you. I didn’t know my sister was coming back and I thought the dress was for me, that’s why…..
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face.
-I’m sorry, mom. I’m sorry, brother.
Diana apologized, her voice cracking with sobs.
Hector grew impatient to see her like this and, choking with disgust, looked at her and opened the door to his sister’s room.
Bianca had reached the age where she was always delicate of mind, so how could he not understand her mind?
She stroked Diana’s hair with a faint smile, but still explained earnestly.
-I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. We found out recently and were afraid something had gone wrong, so we kept it from you.
Diana froze for a moment, shook her head and said good-naturedly:
-Okay, I understand, you don’t need to explain it to me.
She leaned her head on Bianca’s shoulder, knowing that she couldn’t see her gaze, so she flashed mad jealousy and resentment.
It was reasonable to keep it from Adrian, who was young and prone to spilling secrets.
But why keep it from him?
All three knew that keeping it from him was only a precaution, fearing that it would hurt their daughter.
Diana’s eyes were full of disdain, sensing that Bianca was hypocritical.
There were only two rooms on the second floor, one was Hector’s, while the other was specially prepared for Albina.
At that time, Grandma’s greatest love was for Albina, and even Hector, her eldest grandson, had to take a back seat.
Grandma used almost all her best things to furnish Albina’s room.
Since then, things that grandmother had arranged at first had become precious, and things that were hard to find even with a lot of money were were placed in this room as if they were ordinary ornaments.
If Diana saw the things inside, she would have been very surprised.
All the things she had gotten in the Espina family over the last twenty years together were not as valuable as the ornaments in this room.
Hector opened the box, carefully took out the dress inside and hung it in the closet.
The room was especially large and had everything they needed, complete with bathroom and closet.
Almost every year, Bianca prepared gifts for Albina, and the contents of the closet changed over time, as if Albina had never left.
Hector looked at the clothes, accessories and shoes inside and a soft smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
He thought his sister would like this room.
Over the years, every time he traveled, he brought back nice new things to put in this room.
Friends who were close to him thought he was keeping a woman.
When he left the room, he discreetly closed the door.
Bianca waited for him at the door, and watched him leave before speaking to him affectionately.
-Did you put the dress away?
Hector nodded.
-Yes, she will be back on Saturday, so we will hold a banquet on Sunday to announce her identity. I’ve already made the arrangements, and I’ll send out the invitations the day she returns.
She still didn’t know what happened with her sister’s disappearance back then, and if she sends out the invitations early, someone would wreak havoc.
Bianca nodded with a satisfied smile.
-I’m pleased with your work.
Hector’s cheeks reddened a little at the compliment and he said quietly:
-But you tend to keep treating me like a child.
Bianca patted him on the shoulder.
-No matter how old you are, you’re still a child to me.
While they were talking, Diana remained distracted in the garden.
In front of her was a bush of beautiful roses growing delicately. With pent-up anger in her heart, Diana reached her fingers to the branch of the flower and tried to pluck it.
Normally these flowers were Bianca’s treasures, but now Diana was angry with her and wanted to destroy the rose bush while no one noticed her.
She had just pierced it with her finger when she touched the barbs on the leaf stem and it bled instantly, causing her to cry out in pain.
At that moment a sound of footsteps was heard behind.
This light, cheerful voice, Diana knew who it was as soon as she heard it, so she instantly gathered the anger from her face, frowned and made a pained face.
-Sister, are you all right?
A childish voice came from behind her, full of anxiety and a head of vaguely sweaty curly hair.
Adrian’s face filled with melancholy as he ran to Diana.
He immediately saw the blood on her finger and the tension in his eyes intensified.
-Sister, you’re hurt.
-I was thinking about something and didn’t realize it,” Diana said with a reluctant smile.
Only then Adrian noticed the sadness on her face, and after a pause, he asked:
-Sister, have you encountered something difficult?
Diana pursed her lips with hesitant eyes, after a long moment, she spoke in a low voice:
-I just heard something from big brother and mom, but I think as part of the Espina family, I can’t hide it from you just because you are young.
When Adrian heard this, he immediately puffed out his chest.
Kids loved to be treated like adults, and Diana’s words guessed exactly what he was thinking.
-Your missing older sister is coming back in two days.
Adrian was very surprised to hear this.
