Chapter 564: Cautions

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Adrian didn’t say outright that Diana was an adopted daughter, and left it vague.
-Before I didn’t even know I had a real sister, my older brother told me she was lost and the family had been looking for her, and we talked about it and looked at pictures.
He hid some of the things his older brother had said about Diana, for fear of fueling conflict between the two of them. Their relationship was already average and it would be bad if it became more icy.
Diana’s heart pounded and went cold when she heard Hector talk about her own sister.
“Hector told Adrian. No wonder Adrian felt insecure and didn’t want to tell me.”
Diana’s face was very hard and her heart was full of coldness. It had been years since anyone had mentioned the word “adopted daughter” in front of her, except Bianca reciting a few words about her own daughter, and she didn’t even remember that the Espina family had a missing daughter.
She thought that she had completely replaced the girl after all these years, not realizing that these were only illusions of hers.
Hector had always thought of his sister, Antonio and Bianca had never stopped looking for her, and even Adrian, who had never seen the girl, was filled with love when he saw the photo.
It turned out that the family always worried about their missing daughter, and she was the only clown.
Diana’s heart twisted a little, panicking at the thought that maybe someday that little girl would come back and take away her identity and everything she now had.
Adrian was happily pointing to the photo and showing Diana what her eyes looked like, when he looked up, saw her white face and froze.
-Sister… -he said cautiously.
The voice brought Diana out of her imagination all at once, a cold sweat had broken out on her back and her smile was a little forced as she was slow to find her voice.
-Adrian, sorry, I….
Adrian thought she was angry about the adopted daughter and hurried to put the phone away, grabbed her arm and caressed her soft face, looking at her anxiously.
-Don’t worry, sister. In my heart, you will always be my sister. Even if she comes home, that won’t change.
Adrian did look at Albina’s pictures with a natural affinity, but after all, they had not spent time together.
He was telling the truth, but Diana didn’t believe it at all.
She even thought, with some mischief, that when the real senorita returned, perhaps Adrian, like Hector, would only have eyes for the girl and not for her.
But Diana didn’t say what she thought right away either, her smile hardened and she made a sad face as she pinched Adrian’s cheeks.
-Then Adrian, you must remember what you just said. I believe in you.
Adrian was about to smile when he saw her sigh.
-But we don’t know what your own sister is like now, or what her personality is like. I’m afraid she’ll come back and see that I’m not capable…..
Diana said lowering her head and letting out a bitter laugh.
-Anyway, I’m working now, so if she really can’t stand me, I’ll leave the Espina family.
Adrian was instantly distressed to see her like that, and the little man, who also had by nature a protective nature towards the girls, hastened to say:
-Don’t worry, my sister wouldn’t do that.
-But what happens if that happens?! -Diana asked rhetorically.
Adrian froze for a moment, gritted his teeth and clenched his little fist.
-If he really wants to throw you out, I’ll never consent. I’ll protect you!
There was a gleam of triumph in Diana’s eyes, that was the effect he wanted.
The Espina family had been searching for years and sooner or later they would find this girl, Diana had to take precautions and start with Adrian.
Antonio and Bianca were also good with her, and if she tried hard enough, she would surely conquer their hearts.
As for Hector, he was a tough nut that she had not been able to gnaw for years, so she had to give up, since the three members of the Espina family were on her side anyway, so Hector could do nothing alone.
She took Adrian in her arms and put on a soulful face.
-You already know how to defend me, so thank you, my dear brother,” she said, her voice hoarse.
Adrian’s cheeks flushed at the compliment.
When Diana left, Adrian looked at the pictures on his phone for a long time and put it down.
He wanted his real sister to get along with the others. He wanted them all to be happy together and not be like Matias’ family.
Matias’ family had a lot of uncles and aunts, and every day they fought over property. The Espina family was good, the population was simple, and when the real sister was found, everything would be perfect.
Adrian wiped his cheeks and sighed, his back curled on the floor. He was worried about his family.
After a few days, the dress was finally finished. It was handmade by five experienced seamstresses.
As the stones it contained were too valuable for the seamstresses to take to the studio, they were sent directly to the Santangel family.
Albina examined the final result with great satisfaction.
It was perfect.
She spent most of the last few days contemplating the making of the dress, and the tailor kept improving it until it was finally finished.
The main color of the dress was silver and the jewels were emerald green, which were attached like a peacock’s tail that snaked down to the waist. It was inlaid with white feathers, which were also adorned with jewels. It was so elegant that it even looked heavenly.
-If I had a dress like that I would have to hang it in the vault, it was stunning.
Olivia’s eyes were full of awe as she stared unblinkingly at the dress.
Albina saw how obsessed she was and knew how attractive this dress was to women.
With a hint of pride, she pointed to the dress and said:
-This dress is one of a kind, unique in the world.
Confidence added to the dazzle on her already beautiful face.
Olivia’s eyes softened as she looked proudly at her daughter-in-law.
-Yes, Albina is wonderful.
It was one thing to be proud of yourself and another to have others praise you. Albina was slightly embarrassed and her cheeks flushed.
-It’s also because all five masters are good at their craft and have presented all my designs to perfection. It’s the result of everyone’s combined effort. Plus, Mom also gave me a lot of advice.
Olivia’s eyes became even softer, and the corners of her lips curved unconsciously.
-Olivia practically rushed Albina, impatient to see Hector’s reaction.
-Good,” Albina nodded, took pictures of the dress and sent them to Hector.
