There was a flash of coldness in Hector’s eyes as he pressed Adrian’s small body firmly against his lap.
-Keep moving if you want me to spank your ass again.
Adrian’s body stiffened and instantly stopped moving, he ruffled his hair and lowered his head, but his little fists were tense.
Only when this little thug quieted down did Hector look up at Diana’s aggrieved and pathetic appearance, his eyes full of disgust.
The woman made a condescending face, but what she had just said was meant to provoke his brother’s feelings.
Adrian’s hatred for himself had grown even more, and his heart was quite deep.
-Adrian is not young enough to know the difference between right and wrong. I am having a friendly exchange with my own dear brother, so please go away and do not disturb us.
Hector spoke with such straightforwardness that Diana’s mouth dropped open.
There was no affection in his eyes, but blatant dislike and expulsion.
Diana was ashamed to stay, so she turned away in exasperation.
Only after watching Diana leave did Hector help Adrian pull up his pants and lower him from his knees.
As soon as he landed, Adrian clenched his fists and tried to run away, but Hector dragged him backwards by the neck.
Adrian felt humiliated and aggrieved.
-You already hit me, what more do you want!
Hector looked him straight in the eye. Adrian was his own brother and he himself was not really cruel, but Albina was coming back soon and he had to get Adrian out of those bad habits.
It didn’t matter if he snuck up on her, she could dodge him anyway. It wasn’t as if this little boy could hurt him.
But it wasn’t like that with Albina, who was pregnant. If Adrian had ill will towards Albina and had been provoked by Diana to hit her, this would have irreversible consequences.
-I am your brother, not your enemy. You can’t look at me like that.
Hector’s voice was serious, he looked him in the eyes and watched Adrian’s little face with a little more patience.
-Adrian, fists are for outsiders, not for darlings. No, I wouldn’t recommend using your fists if you can use your head, only little kids like to do something impulsively.
-You’re the one who’s a child! -Adrian responded with a grunt of exasperation, but his eyes were much calmer and a little offended.
It wasn’t that he disliked his older brother; on the contrary, he admired Hector.
Adrian’s elementary school was Hector’s old school, and several legends still circulate about him. All of his teachers and classmates have heard of Hector.
As Hector’s younger brother, Adrian was quite proud.
But it was only upon seeing his sister being bullied by Hector that a surge of anger welled up in his heart. When he had just been beaten by his brother, he really only felt hurt and ashamed, but when Diana said that, he felt an extra surge of anger and hatred in his heart.
Adrian didn’t know what happened to him.
Hector looked at the confusion in her eyes and stroked her curls.
Adrian was young, his three points of view not yet formed and he was easily swayed by what others said. Plus he had spent so much time with Diana since he was a child that he wasn’t defensive of her.
Hector feared that Diana would teach Albina a bad lesson when she wasn’t home, and even more so that Diana would use Adrian and do Albina some harm.
At that thought, he cupped Adrian’s little face and said in a warm voice:
-Adrian, you don’t have to care what others say, just remember that you are my brother and I will never hurt you no matter what, understood?
Hector had never spoken to Adrian in such a soft tone.
A blush appeared on Adrian’s small face.
-Understood.
After a few seconds, he pouted again.
-Then why are you treating Diana badly? Don’t try to fool me, don’t think I don’t know anything just because I’m young, I can see you don’t like Diana.
Hector froze and nodded.
-I really don’t like her.
-Why? -Adrian couldn’t help exclaiming with doubt when he saw him admit it, “I think my sister is very sweet and nice. Why don’t you like her!
Hector thought about it for a moment before saying:
-I’ll give you an example, do you like green peppers?
Adrian’s little face scrunched up for a moment and he shook his head frantically.
-No.
-But I do,” said Hector, rubbing his curls. Then it’s normal, you think Diana is good and you like her, but I don’t. You’re too young for me to tell you why. You are too young for me to tell you why, because you can’t understand. I don’t force you to like green peppers, and you don’t have to force me to like Diana, do you?
Adrian, stunned by the talk, nodded in a trance.
A smile shone in Hector’s eyes.
-You were young before and our family didn’t tell you, but now that you’re older, I have something important to tell you.
Adrian sniffed and immediately puffed out his little chest.
-Tell me, I’m listening.
-Actually, Diana is not the biological daughter of the Espina family….
As soon as it left his lips, Adrian shouted:
-Bullshit!
Hector’s eyes did not dodge and he stared at him.
-I’m not lying. Look at the two of us, our eyebrows, eyes and nose look like Dad’s, but Diana looks nothing like Dad and Mom.
Adrian didn’t want to admit it, and bit his lower lip, but with such a comparison in his mind, he already believed it.
It was true that Diana bore no resemblance to the Espina family.
All the members of the Espina family were very handsome, and although Diana was also very neat and looked handsome in the eyes of outsiders, she was still beneath the features of the Espina family members.
-Diana really isn’t from our family?
Hector nodded.
-She’s not, but I can tell you that we have a daughter in our family. You have a real sister, only, unfortunately, she got lost when she was two years old and hasn’t found her way back home yet.
Adrian tensed instantly, grabbing Hector’s knee.
-Really?
-Yes, I have pictures of her as a child, and the locked room next to mine is her room,” he said and pulled out a picture of Albina before her second birthday and showed it to Adrian.
Hector had to let him know Albina’s existence beforehand so that he would accept her and not be provoked by Diana and would not bear Albina ill will.
In this picture, Albina was pink and soft, with a round face, dark eyes and thick eyelashes, and a smile that opened her mouth to reveal two small white teeth.
Adrian stared unblinkingly at the photo and carefully put his hand on it to touch it.
-Is this my real sister? She’s very pretty.
And at first glance, the eyebrows and eyes looked like hers. She had the Espina family look, which made him feel familiar.
