As soon as Olivia came out, one of the women gathered around Stephanie suddenly ran up to her and looked at her with a fawning face.
-Mrs. Santangel, you’ve auctioned off a lot of things today! Is it because it’s a charity auction? You are so kind.
Olivia smiled modestly and haughtily.
-I’m glad to be able to contribute something to charity, you flatter me.
The conversation hit Stephanie in the face like a slap in the face.
The anger and jealousy she felt in her heart took over Stephanie’s mind and she immediately raised her voice and told the person next to her:
-Spending five million on a jade pendant the size of your little finger, only a fool would do such a thing, her family’s fortune will soon be squandered.
Olivia’s eyes averted at these words, she looked Stephanie up and down, then suddenly grimaced and said to Albina:
-Albina, in the future, remember that when you meet such jealous people, it is better to avoid them or you will suffer.
Stephanie approached Olivia.
-What did you say, who are you calling jealous?
Olivia gave her a look of mock surprise.
-Why are you being like this, Mrs. Leoz? Did I say something about you?
Stephanie took a deep breath.
-Stop pretending, you know it in your own mind!
-So, okay, I was talking about you, but wasn’t I? You keep attacking me about the money thing, you didn’t get this jade pendant so you’re upset and that’s why you keep making fun of me, isn’t that jealousy?
Olivia finished, lifting her chin. Stephanie then replied:
-Then I’m also telling the truth, five million dollars to buy a jade pendant, isn’t that stupid?
Olivia laughed coldly at those words.
-That five million buys my happiness, and it’s worth whatever I spend as long as my future grandchildren like it.
Stephanie couldn’t think of words to respond.
She looked at Olivia with a big smile on her face, gently touching Albina’s belly.
Albina had a unique tenderness as she tilted her head and spoke to Olivia in a whisper, showing off her beautiful white neck.
This happiness wounded Stephanie so deeply that malice instantly appeared in her heart.
Stephanie’s lips curved and her voice seemed to take on a sinister tone.
-Mrs. Santangel, you are now very active in preparing your grandson’s gift. You would be a real fool not to give birth to the son of the Santangel Family.
The malice in these words was so evident that the smiles on Olivia’s and Albina’s faces disappeared at the same time.
Albina had an icy look on her face.
-Mrs. Leoz, do you know what you are talking about?
-Did I say something? -Stephanie covered her mouth and rolled her eyes with a hint of sarcasm, “Did I inadvertently say what was on my mind? I’m so sorry.
Olivia’s anger welled up inside her, she didn’t have as good a temper as Albina and immediately scolded her:
-You’re a disgusting bitch, how dare you say something out loud, shame on you!
Stephanie hadn’t expected Olivia to scold her like that, and the pressure that had built up inside her vented.
-What, am I wrong? Everyone in town knows that Albina was kidnapped by an unknown man the day after she got engaged to Umberto Santangel. I also heard that on the night of the engagement both the Santangel Family and the Eagle Family went out looking for someone. Watching the news I noticed you were looking for Albina at the time.
Stephanie was getting more and more excited as she saw Olivia’s angry face and a thrill of revenge welled up inside her.
-The bride was kidnapped the day of her engagement, threatened with a knife the next day, and where was she the night in between? With whom? What has she done? You don’t have to think about any of this.
As she spoke, she looked Albina up and down.
Mrs. Santangel, even as a woman, I think your daughter-in-law is very beautiful. Look at her delicate face, her beautiful eyes and her shapely figure. I’m afraid she was raped the night she disappeared, and we still don’t know who the father of the child she’s carrying in her womb is.
-You’re kidding me, the father of the baby in Albina’s womb is Umberto,” Olivia said, her head aching with exasperation.
Stephanie stretched out her hands.
-Can you prove it? At least I warned you before your son turned out to be…..
Before the words were out of her mouth, Olivia gave in and lunged directly at Stephanie.
The situation caught her off guard and Albina didn’t react before Olivia was already in front of Stephanie.
She was tall and long-legged, and a strong fighter. She stepped in front of Stephanie and slapped her in the mouth twice.
Both slaps were hard and hurt even more in the face.
Stephanie was so well behaved that the two slaps swelled her face right away.
She didn’t expect Olivia to come straight at her and hit her. When she reacted, her eyes were bloodshot and she ran at Olivia like a madwoman.
The group of women who had just surrounded Stephanie instantly dispersed and moved away, not daring to get involved in the fight between the two.
Albina was undoubtedly on Olivia’s side and, when she saw that Stephanie was going to fight, she immediately asked her driver to stop her.
The driver, who was male and tall, scratched Stephanie twice before separating them so that the already frantic Stephanie could not hit Olivia.
-How dare you stop me, you Santangel Family lapdog, do you know who I am, I am the wife of the Murillo Family and the daughter of the Seco Family, how dare you do this?
Albina snorted at these words.
-You just said it too, he’s one of our Santangel Family, that’s what he does for a living.
Stephanie looked viciously at Albina.
-What does that have to do with you? You’re rude.
-And do you deserve to talk about education? -Olivia asked instantly.
Albina also said:
-Courtesy is mutual, and I will only respect you if you respect me. The insult you just hurled at me fell on deaf ears, and when Mr. Seco gets out of the hospital I will have to ask my grandfather to have a talk with him.
Stephanie lost her voice like a drowning duck.
Albina looked at her with a smile, without reminding her, and it took Stephanie a few moments to calm down.
-Get out of the hospital?
She remembered that Mr. Seco was still in the hospital and the doctor said there was no telling if he would wake up or not.
What did she know?
-You don’t know? We, the Santangel Family, know that Mr. Seco is waking up and you don’t know anything. You don’t seem to care about your father’s health as you say you do.
Olivia heard Albina’s sarcastic voice and, amused, turned to her and said:
-Yes, Albina, it’s so unethical.
Stephanie didn’t have time to fight with them anymore, she didn’t expect Mr. Seco to wake up.
She thought Mr. Seco would fall fast asleep.
Stephanie was a little scared, she had seen how much Mr. Seco adored Jaime and if Mr. Seco woke up, the company would have nothing to do with Pedro!
Then everything Pedro had done would be for nothing!
He didn’t even care about Olivia and Albina anymore and stumbled out.
He had to go to the hospital.
