Chapter 471: Angelina’s Idea

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Jaime didn’t go back to the office all afternoon, found a hotel, showered and changed, and went back to the Seco family.
After the afternoon, he was not as shocked as when he first received the news and had been able to hide his emotions well.
Jaime entered the house loaded with his things, saw Alfredo in the living room and approached him intimately.
-Grandfather, today I went to buy your favorite desserts, there were so many people buying them that I made a long line.
He attentively took out boxes of desserts and several boxes of good tea.
They were not very valuable, but it was these little things that shook Alfredo’s heart a little.
Jaime actually remembered what he liked to eat.
The dessert box was opened and contained all of his favorite flavors.
Jaime held the box and looked at it nervously, seeing his frown the whole time, he asked carefully:
-Grandpa, don’t you like it?
Alfredo didn’t know how to answer for a moment.
Jaime’s eyes were a little lost, but a reluctant smile came across his face.
-I’m sorry grandpa, your tastes must have changed after all these years, I’m the one who didn’t notice?
Alfredo sighed and squeezed his hand.
-No, I love them, I love them very much.
Jaime had a smile on his face.
-I’m glad you like it, I also bought some tea. I’ll make you a cup of tea, you can try it.
He finished without waiting for Alfredo’s answer and took the tea to the kitchen.
The secretary stood behind Alfredo without saying a word, with a very complicated expression.
-Sir, the young man? Javier has been acting strange today.
Jaime’s relationship with Alfredo had been strained for some time, and his way of speaking is marked by impatience. After Alfredo’s cold attitude toward him a few days ago, Jaime had been concerned about pleasing Alfredo.
But there was also a certain arrogance in that wariness, a certainty that Alfredo is only momentarily angry.
But today, this caution was tinged with a hint of trepidation, Jaime was afraid that Alfredo would not accept him.
Alfredo was a very sharp judge of people and he saw it long before the secretary opened his mouth. His eyebrows narrowed.
-Do you think he might know something?
The clerk’s eyes widened.
-I don’t think so.
How could Jaime know if he was conducting all his investigations in private, being careful at all times and not daring to reveal even the slightest hint?
-Check his agenda for today….
Before Alfredo could finish, he saw Jaime coming out of the kitchen and fell silent.
Giving the secretary a wink, he nodded and looked at Jaime with a slightly cold stare.
“If Jaime knows anything, it’s no wonder he’s behaving today.”
But even if he had ingratiated himself with Alfredo, it would have done no good. The Seco family fortune had nothing to do with him, as he was an outsider and could not fall to him. The only ones who could inherit the Seco family were those who had the true lineage of the family, and even Pedro was more qualified than Jaime.
In response to Jaime’s advances, Alfredo took them in stride.
He had raised Jaime for so many years and had given him so much of himself that he was certainly entitled to his filial piety.
Alfredo spent time with Jaime as usual, and when it was almost time, he went to his room to rest, helped by his secretary.
The backs of the two disappeared before Jaime’s gaze grew cold.
Alfredo has a deep heart and nothing showed on his face, but the secretary’s emotions sometimes seeped through unconsciously.
Jaime met his gaze and his heart froze.
The secretary’s attitude had revealed Alfredo’s intentions, and Jaime had a rough idea of what Alfredo had in mind. He feared that once Alfredo’s own grandson was found, the Seco family fortune would be completely lost to him.
At the thought, Jaime ducked his head and his face was grim.
“I have accompanied Alfredo for more than twenty years, and as soon as his own grandson returns, he will cast me aside. Alfredo doesn’t take me seriously at all, and all these years of companionship will come to nothing. Well, I hope you won’t blame me if I do anything wrong then.”
Jaime pressed his palms together, his face grim.
The next day, Jaime came to the office early as usual. Although he didn’t have any projects on his hands at the moment, he couldn’t let anything get in his way, and he was always careful in this regard.
But for some reason, as soon as he entered the office, people coming in and out started talking about him with very strange eyes. They kept whispering and, every once in a while, they would double over with laughter.
Jaime looked at what he was wearing and found nothing out of the ordinary. He looked at the wall lit up like a mirror and found nothing wrong with her face either.
He frowned.
“What’s all this about, what’s so funny, did something happen that I don’t know about?”
Jaime was about to call one of the men over and ask for an explanation when Peter suddenly appeared from behind and approached him. Pedro slid his eyes over him, in particular, swirling about three inches below his navel.
Jaime felt slightly annoyed by his stare and glared at him.
-What are you looking at?
Pedro rubbed his chin.
-Cousin, you always seemed tall and strong to me, but in reality, you’re handicapped.
-What? -Jaime froze at his comment, and when he reacted, his brow furrowed, “What are you babbling about? Don’t talk nonsense.
Anyone who is a man and is questioned about that aspect will not be happy.
Seeing Jaime’s annoyance, Pedro laughed lightly.
-I’m not talking nonsense, now the whole company knows. It’s not terrible to be sick, but it’s not good for the company, so you should keep it to yourself.
Jaime listened to him incredulously, rolled his eyes and walked inside, not wanting to talk to him anymore.
As he passed the reception desk, he was suddenly stopped.
The receptionist’s cheeks were red and her voice stumbled with embarrassment.
-Mr. Jaime, here’s a package for you.
Jaime froze for a moment and the next moment, he saw the receptionist huffing and panting as she carried a large box and placed it on the table.
On the top of the box were the words “Viagra” and some garbled advertising slogans.
The handwriting was quirky, but the words “be a real man” were clearly visible. The box’s sealing tape is also covered with the words “Viagra” in red.
Jaime’s mind went boom. Thinking about the way the staff had just whispered and Peter’s taunts, it all became clear.
His face was grim as he said:
-It’s not mine.
-But… -the receptionist looked very aggrieved, pointing to the courier slip above-, here’s his name and phone number. It was delivered yesterday afternoon, and the delivery man said your name.
Jaime looked even more irritated.
No doubt it was a joke, someone was pulling his leg, and he swore he had never bought anything like it.
Normally, such intimate things are sent confidential by default, but if someone requests it, the store is happy to advertise and promote their products as a public announcement.
Jaime dared to say that someone was definitely trying to hurt him, deliberately making him lose face and causing the delivery man to shout his name. This was undoubtedly revenge.
At this point, Pedro approached again.
-Cousin, is the situation that bad already? Is one box enough? If not, I’ll buy you more. Don’t be shy to treat illnesses, you have to treat them in time.
-Shut up! -I didn’t buy this! Someone gave it to me on purpose!
-Oh… -Peter’s voice got longer and his eyes looked at him significantly, clearly he didn’t believe what he was saying at all.
Jaime was furious and turned to leave when the receptionist chased after him and asked:
-Mr. Jaime, don’t you want your package?
-Fuck off, it’s not my package, leave me alone! -he said and left in a huff.
The receptionist looked at Pedro with resignation.
-And this, Mr. Pedro? Mr. Jaime’s name is clearly written on it.
Pedro, who had a grudge against Jaime for a long time, was not going to let this great opportunity pass and told him:
-Send it to the male colleagues in the company and say that this is a benefit of Mr. Jaime for the guys, that he experienced it first hand and that it works well.
After saying this, he left happily.
The receptionist stood with a frozen expression, looking at the large box.
“Is it really okay to give these away to others?”
