Chapter 429: I can’t scare her.

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Albina abruptly snapped out of her emotions, jumped out of bed hurriedly and wiped her tears desperately. She didn’t want to let Miguel see her emotional breakdown.
But with everything that had just happened, it would not be possible for her to hide it.
Her cheeks and nose were flushed, her eyes were red, her eyelids were slightly swollen and she looked very pitiful.
Michael suddenly felt sad, put down the tray in his hand, walked over to her quickly, took her face in his large hands, and looked at her with concern.
-Did you cry?
Albina stepped back abruptly, pulled away from his hands, and said stubbornly:
-I didn’t cry. Don’t touch me!
Michael looked at the empty palm of her hand. The soft, warm touch he had felt seemed as if it had never appeared, and it made his heart empty.
He lowered his head, pressed his fingers against the seam of his pants and rubbed them nervously, feeling a little sad.
“Albina doesn’t like me, she just told me not to touch her.”
The last time he had heard her say this was at the hospital, she had said these words to Umberto because he didn’t believe her words.
And now, she had said the same words to Miguel.
“Do you hate me?”
Miguel looked at her nervously, his lips twitched a little, as if he wanted to ask something, but in the end he said nothing.
He turned away, and served the food he brought on the dining room table in the bedroom.
As she watched his movements, she wiped away all the tears on her face. The look on Miguel’s face looked like that of a dog abandoned by its owner, and he looked very pitiful.
But no matter how pitiful it was, she could not forget the fact that she was kidnapped by him at their engagement ceremony.
He was imprisoning her! He wanted to lock her up!
-Albina, come and eat. You haven’t eaten anything all day. You must be very hungry.
He kept smiling, and looked at her tenderly, without a trace of regret.
She shook her head, her gaze was very firm.
-Miguel, let me go. I don’t want to be here. I want to go home.
Her voice was very hoarse because she had cried.
He kept the same smile.
-You can call this place your home.
-No!” she shook her head, her tone was very serious, “This is not my home, it’s just a place where you imprison me. Miguel, what you are doing is very wrong and illegal. If you let me go, I promise I will not take any legal action.
Miguel lowered his head, was silent for a while and suddenly burst out laughing.
-During the three years you were blind, Umberto locked you in the house, and didn’t let you go anywhere except the hospital. Didn’t he lock you in like that? Why did you fall in love with him?
As she spoke, he raised his head, and stared at her from her red eyes to her tender lips, he looked very obsessed.
-And now we’re in the same situation, why do you want to take legal action?
She took two steps back, and leaned against the edge of the bed. Miguel’s look frightened her a lot, it conveyed a lot of possessiveness and paranoia.
-It’s different,” she muttered.
She had been blind, and that situation had caused her many problems in her daily life. Umberto wouldn’t let her go out alone for fear that something would happen to her. He was protecting her. Also, the situation between her and Umberto had been very different. At that time, the two of them had a business and a marital relationship.
Instead, Miguel only wanted to control her and lock her up.
-Why is it different? What’s the difference?
He was approaching her step by step, leaving her with no room to escape.
Albina closed her eyes in fear, and turned her head away. This defensive act made Miguel wake up, he backed up a few steps in panic, and breathed heavily.
He had almost hurt her a moment ago.
-I’m sorry.
After he finished speaking, he ran to the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
As soon as she entered the bathroom, she hurriedly took out a small medicine bottle from her pocket, poured some medicine and swallowed it without water.
A bitter taste spread through his mouth, but he felt very much at ease. After taking the medicine, his mood would be much better and it wouldn’t hurt Albina.
He lowered his head, turned on the tap and washed the cold sweat from his face. Then, she encouraged herself to look in the mirror.
The man in the mirror looked very familiar, but it made Miguel feel a little strange. The appearance was still his own, but there was a deep sadness reflected in his eyes. It scared him a little.
-If I go out like this, I’ll scare Albina,” he muttered in the bathroom, trying to calm down.
Outside the bathroom, Albina didn’t open her eyes until Miguel left and she heard the sound of the door closing.
The man who radiated an oppressive feeling was no longer in front of her.
She let out a sigh of relief and patted her chest. His face looked very pale.
The Miguel from earlier was not the Miguel she knew.
The Dr. Miguel she knew was kind and patient. He spoke to people in a polite manner and was very serious when it came to work. However, the Miguel from earlier seemed to have had many emotions pent up in his heart for many years, and the beast in his heart finally could not contain itself and came out. His negative emotions were very strong and heavy, and prevented people from being able to breathe.
As she thought about that, she looked toward the bathroom door, heard the sound of water, and her expression became worried.
“You still haven’t recovered from your illness?”
After a while, Miguel came out of the bathroom, and had returned to his gentle appearance.
But Albina looked straight into his eyes, she was clear that this was only superficial, and that he was pretending.
All her negative emotions were covered by his kindness and tenderness, he was afraid he would scare her again.
She lowered her head and sighed, slowly stood up and walked over to him.
He saw that she was approaching him step by step, he didn’t know why, but he became nervous and backed up two steps.
However, he stopped after only two steps.
“It’s a wonder Albina wants to approach me, why did I back up?”
He tried his best to calm down and stood still, but the natural reaction of his body could not fool anyone. When she came closer, his body became very tense and he didn’t dare to move.
She touched his forehead. His hand was warm. A woman’s temperature should be lower than a man’s, but when she touched Miguel’s forehead, she felt unusually cold.
-Albina, what are you doing?
Miguel found it a little hard to speak and his voice was hoarse.
She did not answer him, grabbed his arm, led him to the dining table and said:
-You too have not eaten anything all day, let’s eat together.
Her voice was very kind and her attitude towards him was the same as always, without the resistance and defense of before.
Miguel looked at her dazedly and did not answer her for a long time.
Albina ate something and, seeing that he was still looking at her without blinking his eyes, she laughed.
-Why are you looking at me? Aren’t you hungry?
-No, I’m not.
As he answered her, he put his head down to eat to hide his current expression, but realized that when he came upstairs, he only brought a set of silverware. Because he had thought she would hate him and not want to eat at the same table with him.
-I’ll get the silverware, I’ll be right back.
Miguel turned around and hurried down the stairs, but he still didn’t forget to lock the door on his way out.
Albina saw the closed door and lowered her eyes slightly.
She knew that Miguel was obsessed with her, but she didn’t know since when he fell in love with her. Anyway, only she should be able to solve this madness.
She had to find a way to get rid of his obsession, and since he was still sick, she couldn’t try to stay away from him all the time. Otherwise, she might stimulate him again.
With the expressions she had seen from Miguel, she knew her strategy would work.
More importantly, she knew that Miguel would not hurt her or force her. Even if she was locked in here, what he had planned was to use the time to influence her to accept him.
If he treated her badly, she might hate him. But now she really couldn’t hate him.
After all, everything he did was only because he loved her.
As she was thinking about this, he came back with cutlery, and in addition to the cutlery, he had a plastic vase with white flowers in his hand. They were white platycodons.
White platycodons were Albina’s favorite flowers because they meant eternal love.
Albina was stunned when she saw them.
