Umberto went over to kiss her before going to the bedroom with the diary in his arms.
Albina followed him, watching as he carefully helped her tidy up her bedside table, stepped aside and said:
-We can read it together later, as a bedtime story.
Her father’s diary was especially amusing, able to bring very everyday things to life in a way that made people smile.
Umberto cleaned the corners of each diary, some of which had been there so long that the pages were yellowed.
He was bent over and his movements were very serious.
Albina was fascinated as she looked at him.
Umberto was really very handsome, and his fingers were beautiful too.
Then she blushed for a moment as she thought about the fact that it was those hands that had been on her the night before.
Umberto put the diary away, and as soon as he turned his head, he saw Albina’s cheeks redden as she looked at him silently.
Umberto knew what she was thinking at first glance. He shook his head and smiled, giving her a smack on the forehead.
Albina covered her forehead and looked a little vain and shy:
-What are you doing!
-What are you thinking about, are you thinking about something erotic?
When Albina heard this, her mouth opened and she stammered:
-Don’t talk nonsense, I wasn’t thinking about that. And it’s always you who takes the initiative at all times.
Umberto just watched her in silence.
Albina could say no more, she rushed into his arms and said:
-Umberto, why are you so mean!
-Okay, it’s all my fault.
Albina growled coldly, and was somewhat relieved when she heard Umberto say:
-So, would you like to join me in making love?
Before she could answer, Umberto pulled her towards the bed.
-I haven’t eaten yet…
Before she could finish her sentence, she was kissed by Umberto, and after a while, Umberto said:
-I’ve heard that food tastes better after exercise, let’s try it.
Outside the sky was slowly darkening, but the house was so lively that even the moon was shyly hiding.
***
The next morning, when Umberto went to work, Albina still hadn’t woken up.
When he was ready to leave, he whispered in Albina’s ear:
-I’ll be back early. Tomorrow is Saturday, so we will return to the Santangel Family for two days and I will take you to the mausoleum tomorrow morning.
Albina nodded unconsciously.
Umberto smiled and gave her a kiss before going to the office.
The morning was quiet, everything was as usual. Around noon, Ruben suddenly entered Umberto’s office.
He even forgot to knock on the door.
Umberto frowned at his hasty appearance.
-Ruben, what is it?
-Someone who claims to be your benefactor has come,” Ruben hastened to say.
-Just that? -Didn’t many people say they were my benefactors before? What’s all the fuss about?
-Mr. Santangel, this time it’s different,” Ruben hastened to explain. Our people asked him quite a few questions and he answered them all, and he was able to get all sorts of details right, so it’s probably true this time.
Umberto rose abruptly from his chair at her words and asked:
-Didn’t he get any questions wrong?
-Yes, it has coincided with all the information we have been able to find out so far.
At these words, Umberto also became interested.
-I will go and meet him.
After saying this, he went straight out of the office, and Ruben hurried to follow him.
When he reached the living room, Umberto glanced at the man inside.
The man appeared to be at least forty-five years old, with a refined face and a firm expression. Although he was seated, he looked tall, and he was wearing a suit.
Umberto entered the room.
When Saul was questioned for a while, and saw that the man was hurrying to leave, he was pleased with himself, guessing that he had got everything right.
Hearing the sound of footsteps, Saul hurriedly raised his head and was about to ask what the result was when he saw that the person coming was not the attendant.
Rather, it was a young man with an aura of indifference.
The man was very tall, with an erect figure. He wore a simple suit, and the muscles under the shirt exuded a lot of power.
He was especially handsome, with indifferent, deep-set eyes.
“This man must be Umberto!”
Saul suddenly felt a little uneasy.
“It was no wonder Lord Seco felt contempt for this man. His aura was indeed very powerful.”
After these few months of special training, even if Jaime stood in front of him and got angry, he wouldn’t feel so uncomfortable.
But Umberto unsettled him with just a glance.
Saul stood up hurriedly and said to Umberto excitedly:
-You’re that boy I saved!
-Do you still remember me? It happened more than ten years ago, so I didn’t expect you to still remember so clearly,” Umberto said with surprise.
Saul knew this was a test for him.
He immediately nodded and said:
-Sure. You look exactly the same as you did more than ten years ago, you’ve even become more handsome than before. Your aura is great, I didn’t even recognize you when I saw you.
His last sentence was an explanation of why he had just seen Umberto and didn’t speak first, but froze.
-Thanks for the compliment -Umberto smiled.
He sat down across from Saul looking much friendlier.
Saul then relaxed.
Ruben shivered unconsciously at the sight of Mr. Santangel’s kindly appearance. He had always had a cold face, and only revealed a kind expression when meeting with a small number of people.
There could only be one reason why he was being so gentle in front of this man, he was confusing him into letting his guard down.
-Can you tell me exactly what happened then? -Umberto explained, “Because there are so many people coming to the Santangel Family these days claiming to be my saviors. Just in case, everyone must go through strict checks to prevent people from cheating.
Saul was a little uneasy, Umberto’s tone was strange when he said those words.
“Have you found out anything?”
But he forced himself to calm down and pretended to remember.
-I am not a native of Sogen City. I was passing through there that day for work purposes, and I happened to pass by that hotel. I heard someone say that there were still people inside who hadn’t been rescued, so I rushed in without much thought. That fire was especially big. I went in to save people, but for a long time I didn’t find anyone, then I accidentally found you and a girl on the floor, so I pulled you out,” Saul said, scratching his head in embarrassment. I didn’t know they had been looking for me all these years, I went home after my business and didn’t pay attention to all this, so I didn’t peek in to explain the situation either.
This sounded plausible in some aspects, all aspects were correct.
It wasn’t easy to check because he was an outsider, the surveillance was burned out and he left right after doing the deed, leaving no clues. The only clue they managed to find was a witness years later.
There was really nothing wrong with what he said.
Umberto continued asking:
-So why did you come all of a sudden after so many years? And how did you know I was looking for the person who saved my life?
