Chapter 125: The Unexpected

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Umberto noticed Miguel’s stare, but this time he wasn’t going to use any tactics on Miguel.
After all, he was now going to be Albina’s boyfriend and he would be very happy to witness that moment to Miguel.
Miguel was oblivious to such things, and seeing that she didn’t throw him out, he rolled his eyes on the stage and looked at Albina.
Albina was now under the spotlight, with a halo of light on her body, very attractive.
At this point, she finally moved, relaxed a bit and began to look for the fabric she needed in the back.
Looking at the fabric Liliana and Linda had gotten, Albina had a vague idea of what they were going to do.
However, she didn’t have time to concentrate on the two sisters, an hour and a half had already been consumed and, to be honest, it was really hard to finish a dress in three and a half hours.
In order not to waste time, large swathes of embroidery could not be used, especially delicate crafts that were time consuming.
Albina had already thought about this when working out the design and had prepared everything beforehand, so there was no pause in cutting the fabric.
It was impossible for them to sew stitch by stitch as they had done in the past, and there was plenty of modern equipment on the stage to meet their needs.
Five hours seemed like a long time, but in the midst of the intense production, they were coming to an end.
Albina finished the last job, wrapped and loosened her fingers, which ached, also her shoulders, neck and fingers, but at least the dress was finished before time ran out.
Although the three of them were to work independently, they needed the help of the staff if necessary. After finishing, Albina thanked the staff who had helped her.
Albina’s relaxed appearance made Yolanda feel the pressure. She frowned and quietly got up to go backstage.
Yolanda was relieved to see that her actions were not drawing attention to herself. She looked at Albina on stage and smirked.
“Wait, Albina!”
-Albina seemed to have finished.
When the presenter said this, Liliana and Linda panicked and saw Albina leaning on her workbench.
Albina didn’t want to push them, her eyes strayed straight to Umberto on stage and she winked at him.
Umberto laughed, how dare she do this on such a formal occasion?
Albina did it on a whim, not realizing that the scene was playing on the big screen right behind her. Good-natured laughter was heard from the audience and she looked back to see her face on the big screen and suddenly her ears flushed.
-Miguel, do you still have hope? Albina didn’t even look at you.
Miguel wondered why Albina would accept Umberto again, and why Albina had no feelings for him.
Seeing Michael’s somber face, Umberto was in a better mood. He had still settled the score with this guy for ruining Albina’s flowers the night before.
The two exchanged words in silence, but at that moment there was an accident from Albina.
One of the staff members who was cleaning up accidentally tripped over his foot and spilled the ink in his hand on Albina’s linen.
There was an outcry from the audience.
-Is it an accident?
-What should we do? It is an accident of the staff, so Albina should not be blamed. The organizer should extend the time.
-How can they be so careless?
Umberto and Miguel also had dismay on their faces and Macos covered his eyes, not daring to look.
It was over. That was what was going through his mind.
Albina had spent five hours making the dress, and it was ruined? It was her staff’s fault, and they should be held responsible.
Umberto grabbed Macos by the shoulders:
-Go talk to the organizers, I’m going to take care of a very important matter.
-Where are you going? -Miguel hurried after him.
Yolanda watched the chaos unfold and a smile of triumph appeared.
On stage, Liliana and Linda knew that Yolanda had done something and the situation was very much in her favor.
Albina did not expect such a situation, and with ears full of apologies from the staff.
Macos negotiated with the organizers, but the outcome was not good for Albina.
-Things change quickly at shows and all sorts of unexpected situations can arise, and it’s important for designers to be able to react,” Claire sighed.
Improvisation was also a test of a designer.
Now, it was Albina’s turn to handle the situation.
She watched the lines of ink carefully, her frown finally loosened and, after a few words of instruction to a staff member, the organizers soon brought in brushes of various sizes.
Albina glanced at the clock, fifteen minutes to go, that should be enough.
She looked down and set the dress down on the workbench, dipped it in the ink that had been mixed next to it and began to draw on it.
Claire had a look of admiration.
The people downstairs had panicked since the dress had been ruined, but Albina hadn’t panicked, she just frowned and thought about how to remedy the situation.
She admired this kind of character and it was up to Albina to remedy the situation.
Soon the time was up, and the moment the presenter announced it, Liliana and Linda stopped working with a smirk on her face.
Albina also put away her pen.
When the dress was handed over to the staff, the man saw the dress in its entirety, with a look of amazement on his face and handed the dress to the model.
When the three of them met, Liliana and Linda looked at Albina with a very sad expression,
-What a pity, we didn’t expect this kind of accident to happen.
-An accident? I don’t think so,” Albina smiled.
Liliana and Linda looked at each other puzzled, what did Albina mean by that, did she know something?
They both looked a little nervous, but Albina ignored them:
-I have done my best, and it is up to the judges and Claire to decide the outcome of the contest.
Liliana and Linda were relieved to hear this, it seemed that Albina had given up.
One of the two sisters would win.
At that moment, the stage lights dimmed and the dresses began to be displayed.
