Carl did not appreciate the words that his mother always used and that was the reason why he hardly told her anything about his love for Bethany. His mother had thought that spending so many years out of the country was going to make him forget about her but she was wronged as he was still having feelings for that wretched girl.
Carl had dated so many ladies abroad and some were arranged by his mom, yet he still hoped to see Bethany someday and to be able to ask her on a date for her to accept and give him a chance as a lover and not only as a friend.
Wishing for her son’s words to be just mere words, she stood up and asked him to go get a shower and she was going to ask the maid to make some soup for him and bring it to his room so that he could feel better later.
Carl obeyed his mother and rose to his feet heading to the bathroom. His mom stood there, watching him get into his washroom before leaving for the kitchen where she was to instruct the maid to make some potato soup for him and a glass of beetroot juice to help his metabolism after his sad state.
Carl could not still get over Bethany even in the bathroom. He has grown to love her so much after catching a glimpse of how she now looks. He use to imagine her beauty back when he was still overseas but the moment he set his eyes on her, he noticed how beautiful she had grown from a young girl to an adult.
Life was full of surprises as who could believe that Carl will be feeling this for any lady talk less of having such sad moments and jealousy all because a lady he loves is with another man.
Bethany was still with Duke and asking him whether he was going to sleep in another room as he said, he asked,
“Do you want me to sleep here With you?”.
” Yes you can after all we are now a couple”, she spoke out blushing. Duke had noticed that she was feeling shy so he told her not to be like that around him and Bethany told him that it was the first time that she was face to face with a man tall more of planning to spend the night with him.
“Do you want us to make love?”, Duke pressed making the atmosphere more tended for her and she was just tongue-tied in front of him not knowing what to say.
Duke laughed out saying that it was a joke but he felt Bethany’s hands holding his mad coming closer saying,
” Will you want to make love with a girl like me?”.
That question was very straightforward and he could feel the passion in her eyes and the seriousness in her voice, but he could also see that, she was not ready and maybe she was feeling like, saying that or doing it was going to be a challenge to her but Duke was very well aware of the kind of girl that Bethany is.
“No I don’t want you to feel pain”, he went on with what he was saying.
” Is it because you think that I can support it like the other girls that you have had to date before me?”, she pressed on and Duke realized that she wanted it.
Grabbing her with his left hand and asking whether she could withstand his coupling, Bethany swallowed the lump of saliva that was in her throat, and with a soft voice she whispered,
“I want you”.
That was fast and he did not want to break her so giving her a little distance, he went backward asking what she was thinking at the back of her mind as what she was asking from him was no child’s play.
Bethany could not understand what was going on with her either but she just wanted to enjoy what everyone has been head over heels for and also as the saying goes,
” The best things are being enjoyed when they are unexpected”.
Laughing out loud at her quote, he told her not to say things that she could not bear the consequences of as what they were talking about could be of great regrets to her later if her decisions are reckless now.
Feeling more embarrassed after listening to what he had just said, she told him to forget that she said something like that and that it was bee stupid of her too. Holding her head and asking him what they could do more since they were both stuck up in that room till further notice, she gave attention to him say,
“Are you sure you want us to give rise to a passion that will never be forgotten tonight?”.
That question was very intense for her and taking her hands down, she said,” Yes I want”.
Duke breathed in as he had never had to date a virgin in his life before and that was the first time he was faced with one and he didn’t know how to go about it. Bearing in-kind hat he lives her very much and she loves him too, he went back closer to her taking her into his arms, he carried her to the bed.
Bethany could be heard breaking out I’m fear mad he asked her whether she was playing with that and she still insisted that she was fine biting her lips and gripping him by the shoulder firmly like a child who did does not want to let go.
“Are you okay?”, Duke asked as he could see the fear that was written all over her face but Bethany insisted that she was fine and okay with her decision.
Duke placed her on the bed and said that he wants to make love to her and she raised a question,
” Why me?”
“Why not you Betty?”.
She sat quiet and watched him join her under the cover with his face all depleted. Pushing to the limit to make the moment lively, she asked hey he was in that state and what she could do to lighten it up and Duke said,
” You need to change the way you see yourself, it is not going to help you if you keep on looking at yourself as a loser”.
His words cut through her heart that she could not help but share tears. Bethany has always looked at herself like someone who did not deserve the best things or rather a man. She has been involved with the pain and sorrow of others that it had made it difficult for her to catch a glimpse of the other side of life which was rosy though not always.
She was sleeping with a full-grown man who understood what life and relationships are but at the same time, she was scared of having him hurt her as he was a player.
Holding her face in her hands, she breathed out and Duke turned to look at her asking what she was thinking about and she bringing down her hands she responded,
“You are correct, it is time I live life”.
Duke smiled at her for giving attention to that and kissed her forehead saying that she will be fine. Bethany told him that she wanted to cuddle and he said,
” I am all yours”.
“I love it”, she added.
Duke cuddled her and thinking back to the indoor party that his friends has, he asked her whether they could attend it together that is if she does not mind and she said,
” I am ready to attend whatever party you want us to”.
That was a great step to change and he was going to take things slowly with her given that she had never shared a bed with any man or been in love with anyone before.
Bethany had let her guard down and she was enjoying what it feels like to have a man beside her.
“Mommy, I wonder what Betty and Sir Duke might be doing now”, Bryan said to his mom concentrating on the video game that he was playing. Rachel took up her head looking at Mrs. Marvin’s reaction and before she could know what was going on, she had taken a headrest and thrown it on his head saying,
” What do you think that they are possibly be doing, with your bug head”, she spoke out and Rachel burst out in laughter holding her mouth from letting the sound getting out.
“Mom my head is divided into two and my neck is broken”, he spoke out and Rachel who was sitting by him, couldn’t bear the laughter anymore so she let it out with tears flowing down her eyes and Mrs. Marvin not being able to withstand her laughter, started up laughing too.
Bryan looking at them both shook his head and continued his game. His mother spoke to him but he did not respond but when she told Rachel to get inside the kitchen and get some snacks, he turned his eyes to his mom and she threw her face out too.
Rachel could not stop laughing as she walked out of the living room heading to the kitchen to get the cookies and chocolate tea. Bryan is a foodie and that was what his mother and sister always used to close his eyes with.
Bethany had fallen to sleep in the middle of the conversation without even telling Duke good night. He noticed it and with a smile, he supported her head well and kissed her forehead. It was still like a fantasy come true and he planned on living every moment of it.
” I love you Bethany mad I promise to take care of you and your heart as long as I live”, he spoke out caressing her face.
Looking at her face, she was so beautiful when she is numb more than when she is awake. She is the most beautiful human he has ever come across and his heart is now at peace knowing that she had finally accepted him. Thinking to himself, he was aware that it must not have been an easy decision for her to make but he was going to make each moment of their relationship memorable.
“I love you, Betty”.
Bethany turned to the other side on the bed giving her buttocks way to be formed in a C-shape and Duke looked at it with so much anxiety, but getting a grip of himself, he took the coverlet and place it over her body, watching her squeeze herself more on aside.
In wonder, Duke smiled at what had just happened. He had never been in such a tempting situation before and have never behaved that way faced with such a circumstance.
He went down from his bed and thinking about his mother for a while, he picked up the phone to call the driver to get information regarding his mother.
Duke did not want to call his mother directly as he knew that they were going to end up just quarreling.
Ringing his driver’s phone, he waited for some minutes but no one picked it up and Duke made an effort furthermore but it wasn’t connecting.
Thinking of who to call again, the maid was the next person who came to his mind and he searched his contact to find her name in it to call immediately.
The call went through and after some time, she picked up the call saluting Duke in a polite voice asking whether he is safe.
” Yes I am safe and I hope you too save as well”, he asked with a high sigh of drowsiness. Without wasting much time, he asked what his mother was doing and what she has been up to and the maid responded that Mrs. Smith was doing okay.
