Bella’s POV
“Love, wake up.” I heard a deep voice call out as I heard someone stroking my cheeks. I stirred before stretching my body and opened my eyes.
As I opened my eyes I saw, Xavier smiling at me. I gave him back a smile. He just chuckled at me. “Sorry to wake you up but you promised me that you will meet my parents over dinner.”
I suddenly remembered that and jolted up. I smiled at him excitedly. I always loved meeting people’s family. Maybe it’s because I don’t have one but it always excites me to meet families and get to know them.
It makes me happy to see a happy family. Seeing my excited face, Xavier gave me a confused face. “You are excited to see my family?” He asked me. I nodded my head at him.
“Wow, I thought you would be nervous.” he said with a questioning look. “I like to meet families and get to know them. I-I get to know w-what it is like to have a f-family” I said as I looked down.
Seeing this he squeezed my hands and made me look at him. “My family would be more than happy to know this angel is my mate, Mio amore.” he said with a big smile on his face.
I just realised he had an Italian accent. I gave him a questioning look not understanding what he said. He just laughed at me.
That is when a question popped in my head. Without thinking, I asked him the question. “Xavier, what are we?” I asked him as I tilt my head in confusion.
“What do you mean? We are mates.” he said as he also got confused. “I know that but does that make us, you know….” I trailed off not knowing what to say.
I guess he understood what I mean. All of sudden he was kneeling in front of me as he cupped my face. “Bella Rose Knight, would you do the honour and be my girlfriend?” he asked as he tried to speak in British accent.
I laughed as I nodded my head at him. He picked me up and swirled me around. I feel so happy. I don’t know when was the last time I was so happy. I started to tear up.
Seeing this he placed me down and cupped my face. “Love. Why are we crying? Did I do anything wrong? Did I rush you into this relationship. Oh goddess I am sorry. Please don’t cry.” he rambled trying to calm me down.
I shook my head as I took his hands onto my smaller ones. “No, no, it’s not your fault. I am just very happy. I just don’t know when I was the last time I was this happy. And now I am happy because of you.” I said as I cupped his face.
“Mio amore, I will do anything to make you happy. Anything. You’re mine. And I make sure you are happy and safe. I will cherish you and protect you, even if that cost my life.” he said softly as I saw the sincerity in his eyes.
“Thank you so much for everything.” I said as I kissed his cheeks. He just smiled at me. After some time we went to get ready to meet his parents.
Xavier went to the guest room while I got ready in his room. After taking a quick shower, I tied the towel and went to the closet only to gasp at it.
One side of the closet was male clothing while the other side was female clothing. I start to wonder when Xavier did all of this. There were even jewelleries.
I walked over and grabbed undergarments and wore them. It was so difficult to choose what to wear. Everything looked so elegant and expensive that I was scared that if I wore it it would get tainted.
I chose a simple pink dress that went mid thigh. It was lace at the top and flowy in the below. I smiled at it and went out.
I wore some mascara and applied mascara. I tied my hair in a high ponytail. As I finished, I heard a knock. I went to open the door.
As I opened I saw Xavier in a sky blue shirt and a white jeans. As he saw me, he stood still with his mouth apart. He was looking at me intently as I stood rooted and started to blush with the way he was looking.
I cleared my throat and soon he was back from his trance. “Bella you look exquisite. Gosh you look breathtaking, Mio Amore” he said in a deep husky voice that it made me have shivers.
“T-Thank you. You look very good too.” I said as my cheeks hurt from all the blushing. As I look into his eyes, I feel so many emotions.
Proud, love, adoration, desire and lust. The longer we stand here the more tension fills the surroundings. I cleared my throat to get his attention.
“We should get going.” I said as I got his attention. When he recovered from his trance “Yes we should.” he said as he rubbed at the nape of his neck as I saw his cheeks turn red.
I covered my giggle with a cough. He held his hands out for me to take. I grabbed his arms instead and grinned from ear to ear with excitement.
Seeing this, he started to pinch cooing about how cute I was. I just swat his hands away in embarrassment. Soon we got into a black car which looked like a sports car and drove to his parents house.
Once we reached there, which was only 15 mins, Xavier guided me out and we walked to the porch of the house. It was a bit smaller compared to Xavier’s house. As Xavier knocked, a few seconds a lady opened the door.
She bowed at Xavier inviting us inside. Saying I was excited to meet Xavier’s family would be an understatement. Soon we were in the living room.
“Mother, Father, we are here.” Xavier called out for his parents. It was weird that he was formal with his parents. I shrugged it off for now.
I heard the shuffling of feet and saw a couple coming towards us. But what I did not expect was the both of them had a shocked, not surprised, but a shocked face.
The woman dropped flowers she was holding on to the floor. I did not understand what was going on.
