Malea’s POV
The feeling of having a ring on my finger and the feeling of knowing that I would soon be married is overwhelming but absolutely amazing.
As soon as the ring was situated on my finger, Lucian pulled me into a hug, his chin resting on my head. “I hope this whole day wasn’t cheesy.”
I laughed against his chest. “Cheesy? Yes. Romantic? Yes.”
“I guess that’s a win-win.” He pulled away for a second and pressed his lips to mine. This is my fiancé. I couldn’t help the smile on my lips.
We sat back down and the waiters began bringing in the food. “Have you told my parents?” I asked.
Lucian nodded. “This morning while you were on the little scavenger hunt, I talked to your parents. They felt really bad about what happened with Isabelle. Either way, if they said that I couldn’t propose to you, I still would’ve. You deserve to make your own decisions.”
The rest of the dinner was amazing and each time I looked down at my hands it seemed like an amazing dream that I didn’t want to ever end.

Lucian pulled me inside the house and up the stairs into our room. We were engulfed in darkness as he placed his lips on mine. The movement of his lips were slow and passionate and his hands wrapped around my waist. He nipped at my bottom lip gently as his hands drifted lower than my waist.
He pulled away from my lips and began pressing small kisses down my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I let out a sigh and without warning, Lucian picked me up and dropped me onto the bed. He reached over and instead of turning the lights on fully, he dimmed them.
I watched as he loosened his tie and then removed his crisp button down, his perfectly toned chest now bare. And then his pants were the next thing to go, leaving him in his Calvins. And then he was straddling my hips and his lips were now at my ear. “Your turn.” He whispered.
I’d be more than happy to oblige. I rolled out from under him and stood up. “Do you mind helping with the zipper?” I asked Lucian who had been watching my every move.
He smiled faintly and crossed the room to where I am. Slowly, he began unzipping the dress until it was now at my feet. I shivered as he wrapped his arms around my bare waist. Slowly, he began pressing kisses down my neck and soon enough his lips found its way back to mine.
We weren’t close enough and I knew Lucian felt it too. I wanted him closer and with nothing in between.
I pushed him onto the bed and followed suit, except instead of landing next to him, I was straddling his hips, my dark hair falling forward and brushing his chest. His breath hitched in his throat, his bottom lip caught in between his teeth as he watched me reach behind my back and unhook my bra. I let the undergarment fall to the floor.
“You’re so damn beautiful.” He muttered, his eyes trailing from my head and focusing on my body now. My heart pounded mercilessly in my chest as he reached up to pull me into him, our lips now interlocked and his hands exploring places on my body that no one has ever touched.
Lucian flipped me over, his body now hovering over mine and his chilling yet loving gray eyes never leaving mine as he began pressing kisses from my collarbone, in between my breasts, to my belly button and stopping at my hips.
“Are you sure want to do this?” He asked huskily, his lips positioned at my hips.
“I’ve never been more sure of anything.” And soon enough, we were both separated by nothing, our bare bodies together and inseparable. I’m more than happy to know that my first time was with someone I love so incredibly much.

Malea’s POV (1 year later)
Even though we had the wedding over 9 months ago, it still felt surreal to call Lucian my husband. The best feeling is sleeping and waking up right next to him, knowing that he’s all mine. Especially since we went back to New York and are now so far away from Isabelle.
But on this particular morning, I wasn’t feeling so hot. I feel so nauseous and cold. I pulled the covers over my head and shivered underneath them.
“Are you okay, love?” Lucian asked as he pulled me into him, his bare chest pressed against my back. The warmth radiating off his body only made me feel hotter… and colder.
“I feel so sick…”I muttered, unable to speak without feeling another wave of nauseousness wash over me.
“Do you need anything?” He asked, his hand resting absently on my stomach.
“Oh my—” I groaned as I rushed from the bed to the bathroom, with Lucian behind me.
I knelt in front of the toilet and emptied the contents of my stomach while Lucian held my hair go the side.
I stood up when I was done and flushed the toilet before heading to the sink to brush my teeth. “I started feeling sick yesterday and it’s only getting worse.” I murmured through the whirring of my toothbrush. I glanced up at the mirror. I had dark circles under my eyes, my hair is unruly and I looked extremely pale whereas Lucian’s hair was unruly in a way that looked deliberate and his gray eyes were brighter than ever.
Lucian placed a hand on my lower back, concern clear on his face. “Do you want me to take you to the doctor?”
I shook my head. Maybe it’s a bug. “No. I’m fine.”
Lucian’s eyebrows collided in doubt. “No, love. You seem really sick.” He placed the back of his hand against my forehead. “And you’re really hot too.”
I spat into the sink and rinsed out my mouth before turning to face him. “I’m fine, Lucian. If it gets worse. I’ll tell you but honestly it’s most likely a bug or something.”
“If you say so, boss.” I rolled my eyes as he walked over to the tub and slowly turned to faucet to hot. “For now, you can relax in the bath.” He was a little more than generous when adding the bubble bath soap.
“Get inside the tub and I’ll be right back with a cup of tea.” He turned to face me.
“I don’t want tea. I doubt I’ll be able to keep it down.” I shook my head and pressed the heels of my palms to my eyes.
“Fine. Ginger ale.”
I shook my head. “Babe. I said I don’t want anything to drink.”
Lucian shook his head also, obviously not talking no for an answer. “You may not want it, but I’ll bring both. Just in case.” Before I could reply, he turned and walked out the bathroom.
With a sigh, I shrugged out of the oversized tshirt I was in and sunk into the tub. The steaming water felt amazing.
Lucian came back with a tray instead of a mug and on the tray were two slices of toast and jelly, tea and ginger ale and a bowl of fruits. I groaned as he placed it on the small table next to the tub.
“I don’t think I can keep that down.” I said as he handed me the white mug. The thought of food repulsed me.
“At least try to drink the tea.” Lucian offered.
“Fine.” I lifted the mug to my lips and took a sip. “Ginger?” I questioned as I turned to look at him.
Lucian grinned. “Yeah. It’s your favorite.”
“Thank you, Lucian.” I shot him a grateful smile before taking another sip. I glanced up from my mug to see him still sitting at the edge of the tub, watching me with concern.
“I can handle bathing on my own, Lucian.” I rolled my eyes but couldn’t help the smile that made its way onto my face.
He held up his hands defensively. “Alright. Call me if you need anything.”
I said okay before he left the bathroom.
I can’t help but feel this sickness is more than just a bug.

Malea’s POV
After the bath, I got dressed and persuaded Lucian to take me to a nearby store to pick up some items. Namely, a pregnancy test.
I spent the time in the tub researching about the sudden nauseousness I felt and most of the links were on morning sickness. It could be more than possible that I’m pregnant but then again, it could be a bug. I hope more than anything that it isn’t the latter.
“You can stay in the car. I’ll be back in like two seconds.” I said to Lucian as I unbuckled my seatbelt.
“Are you sure?” He asked for maybe the millionth time that day.
“Yes. Bye.” I opened the door of the car, got out, and hurried into the store.
After 5 minutes of looking, I found the pregnancy tests and got the digital ones along with the regular test. I chose to get snacks just in case Lucian asked what I bought. If I am pregnant, then I want it to be a surprise.
We drove home quickly and immediately we entered the house, I hurried to the bathroom.
With shaky hands, I pulled out both tests and followed the instructions. Now it was time to wait. Oh my God. I hope I am pregnant and not hyping myself up for no reason.
After five minutes, I got the courage to walk over to the tests and I glanced down.
The first test: Positive
Oh my God.
The digital test: 7 weeks
I’m pregnant.
