When morning came, Rhea was having a difficult time waking up as she shifted on the bed like a kid, she had no idea why she slept until 10am if it was because of the soft comfy bed or the fact that she had been crying like a baby the entire night and ended up having nightmares from her past which made her to wake up in the middle of the night all petrified. With a lazy yawn, she looked around herself and shifted her gaze to the window and knew it was really late. It wasn’t like her to wake up late, but knowing how her life was now that her nightmare was in the city she was bound to have sleepless nights. As if that wasn’t the only problem immediately she grabbed her phone from the nightstand she grew even more tense seeing the many missed calls from Sia and a lot of angry text messages demanding her to explain herself. Of course her best friend had no clue of what was happening in her life lately and the fact that Carlos had returned and she knew Sia was Carlo’s number one enemy.
“Oh darn”she cursed and threw the phone on her bed, she stretched a little, tied her hair in a messy bun and walked out of the room to get something to eat. For starters, she was starving, and her grumbling stomach was proof enough to tell the world her much agony her tummy was going through, and hence she went straight to the kitchen to make something. Her room wasn’t upstairs like Logan, and she was glad because she wanted to avoid running into the man now and then, and actually speaking of Logan, Rhea frowned as she poured herself some strong coffee to sober up and wondered if the man was around since it was 10am.
“Where is the grumpy man now?”she asked with a yawn and gulped down the entire hot coffee and made preparation to make breakfast because the kitchen looked as if no one stepped foot in it which made her think the man was not around, or maybe he was still sleeping and waiting on her to bathe him or deliver breakfast at his door step a if he were some king.
“How stupid, why should I happen to… to help him shower… that shameless man has taken me for granted”she mumbled in fury as she took out several ingredients for her lasagna she wanted to make for breakfast and some tamales.
“I’ll show him that Rhea isn’t like other foolish women… I’m the best”she mumbled again and took out some eggs without knowing that someone was standing by the door listening to her talk to nonstop and in that self conversation she was busy cursing him.
“Such bad long hair… I’m a CEO… such a broke loser…”she went on and said many bad things about Logan as she took out more things and turned around towards the door but instantly stopped as a pan fell from her hand, and it landed to the floor causing a thud as she gazed upon the beautiful man standing before her. Rhea rubbed her eyes dramatically to make sure she was seeing a real person, a stranger without a shirt showing off his abs and only dressed in gray sweatpants which showed his forbidden form. His slightly blonde hair was in a neat cut, not too short not long but in a perfect style with undercuts and a sizeable beard that brought out his handsome face and not to forget those green eyes which made him look like some Greek god, such male features made one to drool.
“W… who are you?”she asked nervously not knowing the strange man and secretly extended her arm to grab a knife for self-defense if ever the hot hunk tried anything funny.
“Are you sick in the head?” Logan asked with irritation and walked inside the kitchen to get some water to cool off since he had gone out for a quick run, he felt hot all over.
“L… Logan… is that you?” If she didn’t hear the man speak, then she wouldn’t have known the hottie was Logan, technically speaking, she was utterly confused not sure if many days had past or maybe years because the man looked so different way too tempting for her liking.
“I thought you died… just how lazy are you?” Again he said with some irritation to his voice as he connected the water bottle to his red lips and Rhea followed his gaze as she watched him drink water in a sexy way not the word to use but the way he swallowed the water made her have weird thoughts as she immediately averted her eyes from him and chanted some silent mantras to keep calm and once Logan was satisfied, he set the bottle down and looked at her with narrowed eyes as he pulled out a chair by the kitchen counter sat down and grabbed an apple.
“W… what happened to your hair?”she got back to her senses and started arranging her ingredients and Logan arched a questionable brow at her and took a bite of his apple and again the way he was biting the apple, didn’t sit well with Rhea.
“What do you mean? its getting hot these days, so I decided to get rid of it… now I feel fine and cool”he remarked nonchalantly and Rhea frowned, why did he get a makeover done, was what she told him get in his head but whatever it was how could he cut his nice and thick hair just like that? Rhea was not happy with his new look, although he used to look cute with slightly long hair which she sometimes wished she could run her fingers in it and feel how soft and silk it was,, but the man crushed her dreams by cutting it. Clearly she was just trying to irritate him so why on earth did he take her words seriously and most importantly why was she busy fantasizing over Logan of all men ‘wake up Rhea’ she scolded herself.
“Oh… Yeah, it’s getting hot these days’ ‘she said faintly and cracked a few eggs. Logan frowned and looked at her because she didn’t react to his new look. Was he looking terrible with short hair, ‘I should have not done this’ he complained mentally and regretted ever cutting his hair? To be honest, he was restless the entire night and couldn’t find any sleep because Rhea’s words kept on ringing in his head about how much she hated his hair that made him think that maybe Sia didn’t like him because of how he looked hence the first thing he did when he woke up was go to do something about his hair and the man he trusted gave him the best haircut, but now he felt bad, and again he wasn’t sure why it was important to him for Rhea to say something about his new look. As silence fell in the room his phone buzzed, and it was his dad calling and without bothering to step out of the kitchen he answered, “Yes father”he said immediately he took the call and waited for his dad to speak, Busy Rhea making breakfast watched him secretly, and he was just nodding, and she knew that his dad was ordering to do things for him. After a few nods Logan said yes and cut the call and sighed heavily which got Rhea’s attention.
“Is… everything okay?”she asked softly even though she knew any better than to meddle in his private affairs.
“Yeah… so the thing is… I’m afraid tonight I won’t come early… apparently some rich man who came out of nowhere is throwing a party and all important guests from around Oakville is invited”he said surprisingly and Rhea nodded without saying a thing.
“Good… I guess that’s good news to having your wealth back”she whispered, Logan already told her about his condition and if he continued to impress his rigid father, then there was a chance of him getting back his fortune without great difficulty.
“Yes… well, since I won’t be around… please stay in and don’t go anywhere until I get back… we don’t know if those men are still out there”logan said without looking at her and Rhea widened her eyes in shock for a second then got them back to normal, was he worried about her?
“Don’t worry I’ll be here”she told him with a smile and Logan nodded, it was a lie she just wanted to let him know she would be around so he wouldn’t say anything. She was going to take advantage of Logan’s absence and do something about her situation not to sit idle and wait for Carlos to ruin her again.
