Daisy flew until she had no strength in her. She didn’t know where she was flying to, but she kept flying until she was exhausted. Daisy was once a soldier, she was trained, and also she had supernatural powers, so carrying Ariella on her back for a long time wasn’t something too difficult to do. Daisy made sure she flew very far away from where Beatrice could get them.
So just like that, the prophet and the Royal family were destroyed. Beatrice was now the ruler of Fairy Paradise. If Daisy had known Beatrice was still alive and that she was the tragedy spoken about in the prophecy, she would have done everything possible to prevent her from stepping foot into the kingdom.
Daisy regretted not ever taken Agnes and the evidence of black magic that came from her serious. She regretted not telling Sabastine about it, now her actions had made Ariella an orphan. It was all her fault, she failed to protect Ariella as she had promised her best friend Mitchell.
Daisy found herself in the heart of a forest. She gently dropped Ariella, who was still unconscious on the floor, Daisy carefully checked if Ariella was still breathing because the amount of blood she had lost was enough to claim her life. After checking, she found a small pulse and then she rushed into the forest.
Daisy searched the forest and found herbs that’ll make the bleeding from Ariella to stop, and she applied them to her wounds. Furthermore, she also squeezed some juice out of a herb she found that’ll make Ariella recover the blood she had lost and poured it into Ariella’s mouth.
As fate may have it, Daisy spotted a massive tarpaulin lying carelessly on the floor and ran to get it, probably the wind carried it there. Daisy began to build a tent, as a former soldier, she had experience of doing stuff like that in case she found herself in a dangerous situation. The remains of the tarpaulin, she turned it into a mat that they’ll use to lay.
It took hours before the tent was completed, Ariella was still asleep and there were no extra clothes to change into. Daisy carefully carried Ariella into the neatly made tent, she gathered food she could find, like grapefruits, berries and wild mushrooms.
Daisy also picked some wood and made a fire that’ll keep them warm at night. After long hours of working nonstop, Daisy was tired, she felt very sleepy, but she couldn’t sleep, she had to watch over the unconscious princess.
****
Ariella felt a stinging pain at her back, she turned and found her beautiful petaled wings on the floor. No! That wasn’t real, she must be hallucinating.
Ariella raised her face and her eyes locked with that of Beatrice, who was smirking evilly. Beatrice used her father’s sword that a dragon had breath on it, to cut off her wings. No matter the enchantment that was going to be made, her wings will never be repaired neither will it ever come back, that sword was one of a kind and whatever it touches, it destroys.
Ariella screamed in pain as blood began to drench the back of her dress, she began to feel dizzy, but she tried to stay conscious.
Ariella looked at Tracy who was frozen at the spot she stood, she saw the terrified and shocked expression on Tracy’s face. Their eyes locked for some seconds, tears welled up in Tracy’s eye, she looked remorseful.
Ariella’s attention was divided when she heard her father’s scream, he was charging towards Beatrice in anger, but before Ariella knew what was happening, Beatrice stabbed her father.
Ariella’s heart failed!
Ariella’s vision began to blur, her body failed her because she had lost a reasonable amount of blood already. Ariella felt herself falling, but before she could touch the ground, a soft but firm hands held her and carried her, then she blacked out.
Ariella opened her eyes in an unfamiliar area, the space looked smaller than her room. Who carried her away from Beatrice? She looked around and saw that she was in a tent, but nobody was inside the tent with her. Was she safe?
Memories of how her wings were cut off and how her father was killed flashed through her mind, and she began to sob. Ariella held her chest in pains and agony. Ariella’s hand trailed to her back where her wings initially were, and she touched it, the moment she touched it and saw that really, her wings were no more, she cried harder.
Why did her mouth feel so bitter, like she had taken some bitter herb? With the banging pain, she still felt in her back, Ariella stood up and headed outside the tent.
Outside the tent, she caught a glimpse of a little fire burning and a lady who seemed to be a fairy lying on the floor close to the fire sleeping, and Ariella picked a log of wood to protect herself.
Daisy, who was half asleep, suddenly, heard a movement behind her, she stayed put and pretended to be asleep. Who was behind her? Has Beatrice found them? No matter what happened, she wasn’t going to let Beatrice hurt Ariella again.
The steps got closer, Daisy opened her eyes and saw someone carrying something that looked like a log of wood. It was already dark, and the fire was completely burnt down. As the person raised her hand to hit her, Daisy grabbed the person’s leg and the person fell down. Both of them were now on the floor.
Ariella found herself on the floor, the lady pulled her legs and she fell down before she even got a chance to hit her. The lady was so swift that Ariella was caught unawares. The lady seemed not to be an ordinary person, she acted like a trained soldier.
Ariella’s guard was up! This woman could be someone sent to kill her by Beatrice.
The log of wood Ariella held had fallen a bit farther from where she was lying down, Ariella tried reaching out to the wood, but the lady pulled her farther from the log of wood.
Ariella was angered!
Beatrice killed her parents, and now she wanted to kill her, she’ll never let that happen anymore.
After Daisy pulled the lady who wanted to hit her with the log of wood more far from it, the lady turned, and she realized it was Ariella, but she saw a strange fire of anger burning in Ariella’s eyes unlike her. Daisy stood up immediately in shock and moved away from her. What was happening to Ariella? Did Beatrice infect her with her black magic?
Ariella felt an unusual surge of strength in her, her beautiful eyes darkened. Ariella raised her hands to the sky and suddenly the wind began to blow vehemently.
Sounds of trees blowing were heard, birds in the forest began to fly away for safety. The cloud gathered and rain began to pour heavily. The rain was so heavy, it was as though the sky was angry, Daisy had never seen any rain pour like that before.
Daisy was dumbfounded. What was happening to Ariella? She was commanding and manipulating water, how was that even possible?
“Only one who has the ability to manipulate the four elements of magic will save the kingdom!” The words of the prophet flashed through Daisy’s mind and reality dawned on her.
“Ariel, it’s me, Daisy, please calm down.”
Ariella was confused at the out pour of the rain, she tried to stop it but couldn’t. What was happening to her? She wasn’t a water fairy, did Beatrice exchange her powers with hers?
She only wanted to fight the lady who posed a threat to her, not to flood the forest.
“Please stop!” Ariella begged inwardly and at the same moment she heard the lady calling her name and telling her to calm down. Ariella immediately recognized the voice, it was Daisy.
So she has been fighting with Daisy all along. Immediately, Ariella calmed down and the rain reduced.
