Chapter 93

Book:The Billionaire's Unauthentic Daughter Published:2024-5-1

Today was the day.
Brooke and Brian’s wedding.
Brooke Parker was now a successful twenty-six year old CEO of her father’s company which once crumbled down due to a family issue but was brought back up by her. She was seen as an idol by many aspiring businesswomen. She was also known to be a kind woman who generously donated to charity.
Brian Smith was now a twenty-seven year old self made CEO of a rising company. It was interesting to see that these two young CEOs of their respective companies competed with each other in the market whereas in their private life they were lovers.
They had been together for over ten years now. Brooke had often faced criticism for being with a man less successful than her to which she fired back by saying that Brian’s company was made by him whereas she had only picked up her dad’s company from where it was left off and so she thought very differently of who was more successful.
So as the world waited to witness the union of two strong and successful people who were lovers as well as rivals, the bride in her room was getting cold feet and the groom was feeling that she deserved better.
Her maid of honor, Claire who was her best friend since forth grade was trying her best to calm her down. The bridesmaids, a trio of girls – Amelia, Heather and Vanessa, who the bride was extremely close to were flocking around her to make sure everything from her hair to her dress to her makeup and heels were perfect.
Amelia was Brooke’s cousin. Heather was Amelia’s best friend who was also great friends with the bride while Vanessa was a close friend of Brooke.
“Am I looking okay?” Brooke asked, facing the four girls as she nervously ran her fingers across the fabric of her gown on her thighs. No one could’ve imagined that the seemingly cold and ruthless stern faced CEO was been this nervous right now.
“You look beautiful.” Claire gushed. Brooke nodded but she didn’t seem too convinced of it as she twirled in front of the mirror to ensure nothing was wrong.
The bride was wearing a sleeveless tulle embroidered wedding gown which was cinched at the waist and flowed freely down from there. Her brown hair was pulled into a low bun with a few locks of hair framing her face. A gorgeous headpiece of white flowers and golden leaves which branched into pearls enhanced the beauty of the simple bun. White tulle heels which were beaded in the front and a little at the sides with the back of it being silver proved to be just the right kind of heels for the look.
The makeup was done by professionals and in the end Brooke looked beautiful, just as she was as a person.
The maid of honor, Claire was dressed in a dark blue mermaid gown which was cinched at the waist.
The bridesmaids were dressed in metallic blue gowns also cinched at the waist.
Meanwhile in the groom’s room, Brian was getting pep talks from his best friend and the best man in the wedding, Jake.
Both looked handsome in their black tuxedos.
After much reassurance, Jake finally managed to get Brian out from the room. The wedding was about to start soon.
The pre-wedding ceremony events like taking pictures and the prelude were already done with. Candelabras were lit and Promenade, a classical instrumental piece was playing.
The venue was at a beach near a resort. It was simple with comfortable chairs laid out in both sides and a stage decorated with white and pink roses.
After the guests had been seated and the groom had entered with the minister, the procession began.
The three bridesmaids were accompanied with groomsmen. Amelia was escorted by Darren, Ethan was with Heather and Vanessa was with Josh. Darren and Josh were Brian’s high school friends and Ethan was Heather’s boyfriend and also a good friend of Brian.
Next, the matron of honor, Claire entered accompanied by the best man, Jake. Jake and Claire had been married for two years now and together had a three year old boy named Nathan. Nathan was the ring bearer whereas Rebecca was the flower girl. Rebecca was the four year old daughter of Rachael who was Juliet’s sister and Juliet was Amelia’s other best friend.
After those two, the bride finally entered with her brother, Ryan. Her father had died in a car accident with her little sister, Tiffany so Ryan had to take her father’s place.
The walk down the aisle seemed never ending for Brooke. She counted the steps she needed to take to reach her soon-to-be husband. As they reached the groom, Ryan took both their hands and put them together.
Brian couldn’t help but stare at Brooke. She looked mesmerizing and glowing in that white dress. Although everything about her look was simple, it still managed to take his breath away like everyday.
Brooke never thought that she’d end up marrying Brian. And now it felt as if all this time that they had waited for each other was worth it. Their relationship was worth it.
Hand in hand, they turned to the minister. There was a call of worship, the opening prayer and the charge to the bride and groom where the minister reminded the couple of their individual duties and roles in the marriage at the end of which the minister prepared them for their vows.
Brian and Brooke faced each other with smiling faces. This was the day that would mark an important turning point in their lives. Although up until now they were practically married and in a live-in relationship for about three years now, this would make things official between them.
“I promise faithfulness and patience, respect and lightheartedness, attentiveness and self-improvement. I will celebrate your triumphs and love you all the more for your failures,” Brian said, his words a soft caress to Brooke’s already thumping heart.
Then it was her turn to make the vows. “I’ll be there to catch you if you should stumble, help you cross over every threshold and fall in love with you everyday.”
Although their vows were simple, the meaning behind them was profound.
The couple exchanged their rings and lit the unity candle.
After the pronouncement and the closing prayer, the minister finally turned to the groom and said, “You may now kiss the bride.”
Brian and Brooke both leaned towards each other and their lips met, their first kiss as a married couple. It was a short and sweet kiss that left both of them with smiles the widest they ever had.
Hand in hand, they turned towards those in attendance who were there to witness their union.
“It is now my privilege to introduce to you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” The minister presented.
Everyone cheered.
This was probably the happiest day of both of their lives. And it was just the first day of many happy days that they had yet to live together.
Unperturbed by what the rest of the world had to say about this match, they both knew in their hearts that what mattered most was that they were destined to be with each other.
