After dinner, I immediately went up to my bedroom and told Olivia to do the same. I didn’t want Ethan to get suspicious of our plans if he found us lurking around the house late at night. I stayed up in bed until one in the morning. I was sure Ethan wouldn’t sleep soon and I knew he was tired so he wouldn’t sleep too late either.
I kept myself alert for any sounds of doors closing near my room which would indicate he was in his bedroom. And precisely so, I heard a door close shut softly at around half past midnight. I gave him about half an hour after that to sleep as I was pretty sure he wouldn’t immediately go to sleep. Once it was about twenty past one, I jumped off the bed and landed softly on the carpeted floor on the balls of my feet.? Oh,? the? things? I? do? for? him.? I’m? sacrificing? my? beloved? sleep? to? get? back at him.
I softly cracked open my bedroom door to see his was closed. Smirking to myself, I tiptoed down to the kitchen where I was sure I was going to find the keys. After fiddling around for a few minutes, I managed to find a bunch of keys on the top of the fridge. Not knowing which was the key to his room, I took the whole bunch with me. I drank a glass of water to relieve my parched throat and tiptoed back upstairs.
Olivia wasn’t going to accompany me on this dangerous mission because she was a lazyass and loved her sleep more than me. But that’d be fine as I could manage to do this on my own.
I opened my closet silently and chose a random dark hoodie to go with my dark jeans. I set the time on the two alarm clocks. One was timed two in the morning, the other one was set to three.? I? would? set? Ethan’s? alarm? clock? to? four,? I grinned evilly.
“You look like a robber,” I heard a voice whisper near my ear and I jumped out of my skin with my heart beating wildly in my chest.
“Olivia!” I exclaimed. “God, you scared me!” I whisper-yelled, my hand on my chest to calm myself down.
Olivia chuckled silently. “I’m sorry, but you really look like a robber,” she said. “I see you’re ready for your revenge.”
“Why aren’t you in bed?”
“I couldn’t sleep.”
“Thinking about Tristan?” I teased her.
Olivia snorted. “Yeah well, he comes in my nightmares asking me stupid dirty riddles with a creepy grin on his face. One of the reason why I couldn’t fall asleep.”
I chuckled, shaking my head. “What’re you doing here? I thought you weren’t going to come with me,” I said accusingly.
“I’m not. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t motivate you,” she said. Suddenly, she grabbed my hands and pulled me to the bed. “Julie, listen. You’re about to enter a very,? very? dangerous arena known as Ethan Evans’ bedroom and I hope you will make it back here alive because if you’re caught, you’re so dead,” Olivia said seriously.
I snorted. “Real motivating.”
“Shut up. Now go on and get your revenge, girl!” She exclaimed, pulling me to my feet and pushing me towards the door.
“Okay, okay. Just let me take the keys and the clocks.”
“Here,” Olivia said, handing me my ammunition. “I’ll organize? a grand funeral if you die in their. Let the beauty enter the beast’s castle!”
I rolled my eyes at her. “Dramatic as ever.”
“Go on!” Olivia encouraged me. I nodded, putting my hand on the door handle and softly opening it a tiny bit so I could slip through it. Olivia whispered a “good luck” to me before closing the door softly.
I looked left, then right. It was dead silent and the hallway was empty, creeping the shit out of me.? Okay,? let’s? get? this? done? as? soon as? possible,? you? can? do? this,? I told myself.
I took out the bunch of keys from my jeans pockets and tried the first key my finger touched.
Nope.
I tried another key.
Nah,? this? isn’t? it.
Not? this? one? either.
No.
Nope.
Nada.
Nuh? uh.
Is? this? the? one?? I? hope? this? is? the? one!? Nope? this? isn’t? the? one.
Ugh.
Be? the? right? key? already!
Ugh? you? dick? of? a? key!? Just? fit? into? the? vagina? of? the? keyhole already and? let? me in!
I? swear? if? this? isn’t? the? one.
If? this? spoils? my? plan…
Aha!? Finally!
I pushed the silver colored key into the keyhole, twisting it as it silently opened. I took a deep breath before slowly swinging it open.
Holy? shit,? I’m? in? the? beast’s? den.
I walked into his room, catching Ethan’s profile sleeping on the bed.? Holy? smokes,? he’s? shirtless.? I gawked at his half naked form on the bed, his lower half covered by the duvet, leaving the top bare half on display for my eyes to feast on.
I was sure he was asleep. He was breathing slowly and deeply, his chest rising and falling with his breaths.? I? have? to? be? quick,? I told myself.
I tiptoed to his bed as softly as possible and placed my alarm clock on the far end of the night stand. It was set at two. I looked at my watch and it displayed the time to be one thirty-seven in the morning. I had about twenty three minutes before the first alarm went off. Plenty of time.
I bent down with Olivia’s alarm clock in my hand, placing it under the bed in a place where I was sure Ethan’s long arms won’t reach quickly.
Pulling myself up, I caught sight of Ethan’s alarm clock carelessly thrown on his bed. I tiptoed to the other side, gently lifting it up and setting it to five in the morning.
I looked around for a good enough place for this alarm. I spotted a pile of clothes on the chair at one corner of the room, and walked towards it. I shoved the alarm clock under the pile of clothes, smirking to myself as I finished what needed to be done.
As I was about ready to leave, I caught sight of Ethan’s sleek black phone resting on the nightstand.? Maybe? I? can? set? alarms? on? his? phone? too.
Softly padding towards his phone, I slipped it in my hands, the lock screen illuminating a portion of the room. Unfortunately for me, there was a pass code to his phone. I wondered if he was one of the normal people who set normal pass codes like birth dates or names, or if he was one of those creepy people who acted as if they have some secret nuclear theory hidden in their phone.
I tried to think hard about the possible pass codes Ethan could set on his phone, but couldn’t come up with anything.
Eventually giving up, I typed in his name.
Ethan? Evans.
Password? is? incorrect.
Ugh.? I groaned. Maybe just simply ‘Ethan’? I typed it but it was incorrect too.
Frustrated, I typed in random alphabets and numbers two times which gave the same result,? Password? is? incorrect.
I turned the phone in my hands, thinking over possibilities. Maybe it was his parents. I knew his mother’s name was Eleanor so I typed it in and to my slight surprise, it unlocked. What a mama’s boy.
I heard the bed creek and I almost got a heart attack as Ethan rolled over on his bed, facing me but thankfully he was still sleeping.
I quickly set alarms at 2:15 am, 2:30 am, 2:45 am, 3:15 am, 3:30 am, 3:45 am, 4:15 am, 4:30 am and 4:45 am. This and plus alarms at 2:00 am, 3:00 am and 5:00 am which I had set on the three alarm clocks. I chose the song “Shots” by LMFAO as the alarm song because that song was freaking loud.
Man,? was? I? being? badass.
I almost pitied him.
I then went into Settings and changed the password-a combination of random numbers-in case he knew it was me and decided to delete the alarms I had set.
I placed the phone on his nightstand beside a couple of permanent markers. Wait, why was my revenge plan getting better and better every passing second?
I giggled to myself as I picked a marker up, thinking of what to draw on his? handsomely? ugly? face, as Olivia had said. Maybe a stupid looking moustache and lipstick?
I pulled the cap off, leaning over his face, the marker hovering just over his cheeks.
Just as I was about to start on the face art on him, his eyes flew open and I yelped, completely not expecting him to wake up. His hands shot out to grab me by my waist as he flipped us over, and in one swift movement, he had me under him. I struggled in desperation to break free which seemed impossible when his hands held mine down on the bed, effectively cutting off any chances to escape.
My cheeks heated up to the extent where I was sure one could boil eggs over them when I saw what position we were in. I didn’t miss the fact that his bare chest and toned stomach were pressed against me. Why did we end up in bed for the second time?
“Do you really take me to be that dumb that I wouldn’t realize that you would take your revenge soon?” Ethan’s husky voice whispered to me and even with the blinding darkness we were in, I knew he had a smug look on.
“It wasn’t hard enough to not believe that because I find your face to be the definition of dumb,” I retorted.
“You shouldn’t be all sassy when I’ve got you under me, Juliet. Wrong move,” Ethan chuckled creepily. “Now what are you doing here at this time? What were you planning to do?”
“Do you want a repeat of what I did to you when you were in my bed?” I attempted to sound threatening.
“Do you want a repeat of what I did to your ankle?” He asked, still holding me in a death grip.
I violently thrashed my fisted hands on his chest, managing to get him off of me just enough to slip out of his grip. He tried holding onto me, gripping my sides but I managed to crawl away from him, not noticing that I was about to fall off of the bed. He reached out to hold me but it was too late.
I landed on my butt on the cold carpeted floor and without wasting any time to feel the pain on my butt, I quickly sprang to my feet and threw myself out of his bedroom door as I heard Ethan curse behind me.
I quickly ran to my room, opening it and closing the door just as Ethan was about to throw himself at me. I heard his body crash against my bedroom door, after which a series of profanities started pouring out from his mouth.
“W-what was that?” Olivia asked me with wide eyes, obviously shocked at my sudden badass entry.
“You won’t believe me,” I replied, trying to catch my breath. “The beast almost ate me!”
“He woke up?” She asked.
“Y-yes,” I stammered, still breathing heavily. “I would’ve died in there.”
“What happened exactly?” She asked, beckoning for me to come over. I peeled the hoodie off from me and collapsed on the bed next to her. I recounted everything that happened to me in the past twenty minutes to her.
She burst out laughing in the end and I gave her a blank look.?
I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by the faint sound of an alarm clock. I? smirked? in victory.
Good? night,? Ethan? Evans.
Sweet? dreams.
Not.
