Chapter 26

Book:The Billionaire's Unauthentic Daughter Published:2024-5-1

Breakfast was awkward, to say the least. On the way to the dining hall, I ran into Ethan.? What? a? great? way? to? start? the? day!
And to think that he would just ignore me for the best. But no, he couldn’t just walk off as if I wasn’t just standing right in front of him. He had to do something!
He tried to trip me. Like how could you expect a twenty three year billionaire to be so immature? And all because of a stupid, childish feud with his childhood enemy. And it wasn’t even my fault that he and Juliet were sworn enemies!
I glared my best at him while he just walked ahead of me, looking smug. Maybe I should just give his baby making stick another kick. That would perhaps get his brain back from wherever it was in his dick.
And to my great annoyance, he took a seat right next to me during breakfast. Thank the Lord he didn’t do anything further or I would have definitely flipped my lid and smashed a frying pan on him which was right in front of me. Although he did drink water from my glass, which I immediately snatched back and looked at him in disgust.
Mrs. Jenson, whose name is Charlotte, as I learned from Olivia was a busy woman. She had gone off to check out something at her clothing line. Something came up and she had to leave. She told me that my dad had left for his office. According to Olivia, he owned a huge billion dollar company.
That meant we had the mansion to ourselves! That is, if Ethan decided to leave too. I huffed as I felt a waffle hit my cheek. I glared at the man next to me who just chuckled and went back to his food.
I decided to ignore him. He was not worth my attention and hopefully he’d stop with being childish if he knew that he won’t get any entertaining reaction out of me.
I quickly finished my breakfast and left him still at the table, stuffing his mouth with food as he read some newspaper.
I found Olivia in the library. I stepped into the book paradise and she looked up from the books and smiled at me.
“Julie, look at these books!” She squealed like a little girl.
“I know. It’s like all the books in the world are here.”
“And most of them are my favorites!” She said as she began arranging the books she’d taken out in order, declining the maid’s assistance. I sat beside her, helping her stack the books according to height.
We spent about two hours in the library. It was fun. I loved spending time with Olivia. She was funny and well, my best friend.
By the time we were done, it was already two in the afternoon and although we didn’t do anything strenuous, I was hungry.
As we walked downstairs, we heard some voices. They were definitely male voices. As we entered the living room, I saw Ethan. He was dressed in a pair of dark jeans and a light blue shirt. Beside him was another man. He was too dressed in casuals. They were talking about something. As we entered the room, his beautiful blue eyes flitted to us before finally settling on Olivia.
“Who is that hot girl next to Juliet?” Were the first words out of his mouth, whispered to Ethan but we heard it and I frowned. Of course, I shouldn’t have expected his friend to be any different. He too, seemed like a jerk.
“I’m right here, you know,” Olivia retorted, crossing her arms under her chest which caused the man’s eyes to settle on her chest. “And I don’t think my eyes are located on my chest, are they?”
He smiled and extended a hand out. “My apologies. I’m Tristan.”
She reluctantly shook his hand. “Olivia.” She said shortly.
He frowned. “I’m really sorry if I offended you.”
Olivia didn’t answer, choosing to ignore him.
“Tristan, maybe we should leave now,” Ethan interrupted, obviously noticing that Olivia wasn’t impressed with his friend.
“Finally,” I muttered.
“We’re coming back, don’t worry!” Tristan said, obviously failing to notice they weren’t really welcome here.
They left. I wasn’t complaining. I actually was relieved that they left. Now we truly had the mansion to ourselves. And we did enjoy ourselves. We had lunch and watched Captain America in the home theatre with a huge bag of popcorn in our laps and only the two of us in the whole theatre.
At around four in the afternoon, it got unbearably hot. Olivia was practically sweating buckets of water even though the air conditioning was on in full swing. I suspected they weren’t working right. Summer really was here.
“Let’s go out to the swimming pool,” Olivia suggested out of nowhere.
“I don’t want to go anywhere,” I whined as I was comfortably sunk into one of the couches in the living room.
“It’s so hot in here. Let’s go out for a swim,” Olivia said, fanning herself and holding her hair over her head.
“No,” I said, turning over and pressing my face against the couch.
“We can try the new bikinis we bought at the mall,” she tried to persuade me. And it worked.
“Fine,” I finally gave up. “But just for an hour.”
“That’s enough, I guess.”
We walked into our rooms to get a bikini.
I hadn’t always been that conscious of my body as I was now. Normally, I was okay with wearing a bikini, although I rarely wore one whenever Olivia and I used to go to the beach. I was constantly busy with college or work, but now this kidnapped by billionaires thing intimidated me so much to the point where I analyzed each and every action and wondered if it was normal from a billionaire’s point of view. I had chosen a light blue bikini which covered most of my skin.
We made our way to the swimming pool. Olivia had put on a black bikini which revealed much more skin then mine did. Olivia has always been the bold and beautiful among the two of us. She was always outspoken about her opinions and never liked to depend on anyone. She liked to be independent. I guess it was one of the reasons why we became friends. She liked to be friends with people who were like her. And me being independent, is mainly what she liked about me and hence, it started a strong and beautiful friendship between us, one which is two years old and is still going strong.
“I told you horse riding wasn’t your thing, man! But you just had to go and challenge me in what I do the best. And look, you lost the bet,” someone cackled.
“Shut up.” Said another voice, which was all too familiar now. “If you want your golden Lamborghini, then shut up. Or you will never get it.”
“Hey! That’s not fair. You promised me a golden Lamborghini if you lost a horse race to me.” Tristan whined and we heard a splash in the water.
“Oh my God!” A squeal sounded and we heard more water being splashed. “Ethan! Save me! I’m drowning!”
“Stop being overdramatic. You’re literally standing in the water, not drowning,” Ethan deadpanned. We turned the corner and came into view only to see Ethan lying down on the poolside lounger, wearing dark sunglasses which was a beautiful contrast to his fair skin, while Tristan was in the water. Ethan was wearing red swimming trunks and Tristan was in black trunks. Both of them were half naked, putting there bare bodies on display.
When they heard us approach, they whipped their heads to look at us.
“What’re doing here?” Tristan asked, pulling down his shades to see us better.
“Swimming, duh,” Olivia replied.
“With us?” He grinned. “It’ll be fun. Come on!”
Olivia glared at him. “Get out of the pool,” she said.
“Um… nope?” He said, sounding like it was a question.
“Tristan, get out of the pool. We won’t swim with you.”
At that time, Ethan rose up from the lounger, not sparing me a glance, not that I wanted him to look at me or anything. “Look, we aren’t leaving, okay? You can either swim later, or bear with us now,” he said.
“Maybe we should just come later?” I suggested, to which Ethan looked down at me.
“No,” Olivia stamped her foot on the wet floor. “I’m so hot right now. I need to swim!” She whined childishly.
“Oh, I can see that.” Tristan commented, winking at her.
“Shut up, you pervert,” she said but I saw a hint of pink on her cheeks.
“Why is everyone telling me to shut up today?” Tristan said to himself.
“And you two have to leave. Right now!” She said.
“Nope, we won’t,” Ethan said as he dived into the pool.
“Look, we can have some fun,” Tristan said, “we can play a water game.”
“A water game?” I repeated.? It? sounded? fun.
“Yeah, it’s where you play a game in a swimming pool with a group of friends,” he explained.
“I know what water game means,” I deadpanned. “And for your information, we are? not? friends,” I added.
“Okay then, water game is a game we play with a group of humans,” he said, rolling his eyes.
“Not sure if I can call you a human,” Olivia said. “You’re a dog.”
“Excuse me?” Tristan didn’t sound angry at all.
“You’re a dog,” Olivia said a little louder.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“And you’re being a bitch to me right now,” he replied.
“What did you call me?” Olivia’s voice was dangerously low.
“Um… guys. Calm down,” I tried to intervene.
“I called you a bitch. No, actually you’re an A-class bitch,” Tristan said. “So are you and your friend up for a water game, bitch?”
“Never, with you.”
“Scared, Olivia?” He taunted.
“You wish,” Olivia hissed.
“So are we up for a game?” Tristan asked.
“It’s on,” Olivia declared, leaving me with no other option but to play a water game with the three idiots.
