Shawn thought that if he let her go, she would never come back. He will never see her again.
“I said let me go! I have already forgotten about us! I moved on! Please! Do not break my relationship with my husband. He is the man who stayed beside me when you left me. He showed me that I am not worthless. I loved him and I will die if he leaves me so please let me go!” Luna was crying while begging. She was so scared because she knew that Maximus saw what happened. She was scared that Maximus might leave her. She was so scared to lose him.
Shawn felt the pain in his heart. Everything that Luna said is like thunder hitting his heart. It is painful.
“Luna, why cannot we go back? I just want you back. I want the old us back” Shawn said. He was also hurt because of her. Did she really not want to be with him anymore?
“I am sorry, but I already have the person I love, and it is not you,” Luna said and at that moment, she pulled her hands and ran away.
Shawn left with tears in his eyes.
Shawn watched Luna turn his back at him and ran away. He knows for sure that the woman he loved will now forever be gone.
Tears fell from his eyes as Luna ran away. He slowly sat at the bench beside him while looking at her until she was gone.
He wanted to run after her. He still wanted to be with her and spend a whole day with her. He wanted to stop the time and follow her, to hug her, to kiss her, and to let her know how much he loved her even if it is just for a day… he wanted to spend his whole time with her. He lowered his head and started to cover his face.
He is crying, his heart is crying in pain and loss. If he is not stupid in the past when Luna begs and cried out for his attention, he will never lose her. They will never break apart. She will never suffer, and both their hearts will never be apart.
Why did I not believe in her?
Why did I push her away?
Why did I leave her?
Why did I break her?
These are all the questions he asked himself last night himself before he went to sleep. Ever since she met Luna in college, the woman took care of him and she never gave him a hard time. She always helped him if he had problems, cheered him up if he felt sad, and most of all, she loved him so much that she even sacrificed everything for him, but all he did was make her cry, suffer, regret, and left her.
Do you even want to come back to me?
He wanted to ask her for the last time, but he also knows that this is the last time that he will meet her.
A while ago, when Luna was about to call Maximus for lunch, Shawn saw her and stopped her from calling his friend. He kept on pursuing Luna and believing that she might change her mind and decide to come back for him, but they end up fighting when Luna mentioned that if he bothers her again, she will resign. He cannot let her go, so Shawn disagreed.
When Luna ran outside the hospital to wait for Maximus, Shawn followed her. They both end up shouting at each other.
“We will never end like this if only you did not let me go!” Shawn shouted.
“Why are you blaming me? You are the one who kept on pushing me away. You even said mean words and asked me to find a better man than you, and so I did. I found Maximus, a better man than you, so stop blaming me! Because I did my best not to let you go but you are the one who let go and push me away!” Luna said as her tears started to flow down on her cheeks.
Shawn stopped for a few seconds when she saw her tears. He felt the pain and it struck his heart. He remembered before that he said mean words to her. He saw her crying and felt something weird in his heart. Now it is finally clear. It is the same feeling as before. His heart is aching whenever he sees her tears.
“D-do not cry,” he said while looking at her.
“Then, leave me alone” she answered.
“You know that I cannot do that,” he said and walked towards her.
“Yes, you can—” Luna did not finish her words when Shawn pulled and kissed her.
At the parking lot, Maximus was running towards his car. He pulled out his key inside his pocket and opened his car. He turned on the engine and started driving.
Luna saw Maximus inside his car, so she ran after him and tried to knock at the window, but Maximus did not even try to look at her. She tried to open the car’s door, but it was locked so the only thing she can do is to knock on the window and the door over and over again.
“Maximus! Please talk to me! It is a misunderstanding. Please…!” She shouted while begging her husband to talk to him.
Maximus stopped his car and opened the window to hear her, but he was not looking at her. He thought that he might break down if he glances at her, so he keeps his eyes straight in front of the car while gripping the steering wheel.
“Maximus, it is an accident. He kissed me but I pushed him away. Believe me, I did not want it. I tried to talk to you last night, but you kept on ignoring me” Luna tried to explain herself with a worried tone because Maximus was not looking at her, so she knew already that he was not listening. She knew very well if Maximus was listening or not.
“Luna, I do not want to see you right now. I need some time. Please leave me alone” He said as he closed the window. He ignored everything she said. He is hurt and the thing he saw last night kept bothering him and making his heart in pain.
