It’s been ages since she combs her dad’s hair. She was only seven when her mom left her and went to someone’s husband. She left her to her dad. She felt hurt back then. Her mom only thinks of herself and forgets her only daughter. She didn’t want to be like her mom who left her. She wants to take Austin back to her no matter what cost it now that she found out the contract was fake.
Raphael saw her daughter’s face made him burst into tears again. It’s his fault why this accident happened. He knew that the mastermind of his hit and run thing was the only person who had a grudge on them. Who had a great motive to kill him?
It can be Alexander or her daughter’s rival Eloisa.
“Don’t mind me, Lucy. I’m still strong like yesterday.” He tried to hide the sorrow in his unnatural smile.
While the father and daughter are busy talking with each other, a group of policemen came inside the room.
Lucy heard the creaking sounds of the door and one of the police officers approached her.
“Are you Miss Mason?” He said.
She quickly nods her head but a bit confused about what is the police doing inside the hospital and came into their room number to ask her name.
He raised a piece of white paper on her face.
“You’re under arrest for the Larceny case. You have the right to call a lawyer to defend yourself!” He said and they put handcuffs on her wrist.
Lucy was shocked at what just happened.
“Wait! What is this? What Larceny you mean?” She struggled while her dad didn’t know what is happening too.
Nurses and doctors came to witness the commotion inside.
“My daughter is innocent! Lucy, don’t worry everything will be okay!” He wanted her daughter to keep calm.
“Dad, don’t worry about me. I’ll come back later!” She shouted back while police officer Ronan and his co-workers drag her out of the room.
She heard murmurs and gossips from a pile of people staring at her in the hallway out of the hospital.
She didn’t remember anything especially stealing someone’s property. The last thing she recalled was Kent gave her a credit card to use for her expenses. That’s all. She also asks permission every time she wanted to buy something expensive especially her car.
They put her inside the police car. Lucy asked officer Ronan who reported the false accusation to her.
“Please, I don’t know what’s going on here sir.” She begs him to listen to her but he just ignored her until they arrived at the station.
Lucy went screaming inside until in the interrogation room.
“Sir, please let me go. I didn’t steal anything! I just want to know who reported me!” She furiously asks the officer in front of her.
His gaze was cold and he seems like he’s studying her. He folded the folders in front of him. It’s the report paper sent by Mr. Kent Oliver Stone.
He took a sigh. He started to play the recording voice when he started to interrogate her.
” To keep your mouth shut Miss Mason, we had many things to clarify from you. We had evidence too that you steal someone’s money without asking him permission.” He firmly said.
Lucy heard the word him. Who was he? Is he the one who reported her? Lucy got curious about the guy who reports a malice indictment for her.
Officer Ronan who was assigned to ask her questions set a smirk on his face.
“The one who files a warrant of arrest for you was Kent Oliver Stone. We present a search warrant to check your place if his report was valid. At this moment, your house is being searched!” His eyes grew wide pointing the fault at her.
She can’t believe what she heard. How can Kent report her if he was the one who said to use his credit card while they were happily in love?
“No! You’re lying! He can’t do that. He’s the one–” she didn’t finish her words when some officers came in to report about what they found at Lucy’s house.
“Sir, we found this. It’s eighth million dollar cash. She hid it inside her closet.” They reported.
“What a shame Miss Mason. We also found out that you had an affair with him and even gave birth to a child but because you blackmailed Mr. Stone that you will tell the media about your relationship with him he decided to give you two million dollars cash to make you calm,” he said and Lucy grip her hair son ad like she’s going crazy.
“It’s not true! Hear me, officer! I was a victim too.” She defended herself while tears started to stream down her face. She felt like her knees gonna give up anytime soon. Her whole body trembled in fear and shock.
