When both Maximus and Luna walked out of the hospital, Luna did her best to talk to Maximus. She is being bothered by what Maximus said.
“Maximus about what you said inside –” Luna did not finish her words when Maximus interfered.
“I mean it Luna” They stopped walking.
Maximus looked at her and held his cheeks. Luna felt his warmth when he touched her.
“I wanted to marry you after I came back from abroad. If you reject me now, we might never see each other again. My family will force me to marry another woman if I did not get myself a wife after I came back. I’ll be honest. I only wanted to marry you and live the rest of my life with you” Maximus confessed. He wanted Luna to hear everything.
He was not sure of Luna’s decision, but he wanted to confess already before he got rejected and accepted the fact that Luna does not like her. If Luna accepts him, he will do his best, and if she rejects him, he will leave and never bother her again.
“Why are you saying that now and why are you leaving me again?” Luna asked. When she heard his confession, her heart was moved at the same time she felt scared. Scared that she might never see him again.
After taking care of him for weeks, she knew that she already fell for him, but she does not want to admit it because she was scared that she might get hurt again.
Maximus shared his meal with her. He let her sleep in his bed when she was tired or felt sleepy. Maximus even said he’s thought about her. Sometimes he made her laugh, sad or happy. He even made her feel embarrassed and blushed all the time. During those days with him, those things he did were worthy. She was happy when she was with him. Even though every day is tiring, he still made her smile.
In the end, she does not want to see Maximus walking away and leave her again. So, there is no need to think for a second. She should follow what her heart was saying. It says not to let him go.
“Because I cannot wait anymore. I do not want to force you, but I do not want to regret it either. So, tell me. Do you want to live with me for the rest of your life or –” Maximus did not finish his words when Luna sealed his lips with her lips?
Maximus froze. He did not expect this. Is this her answer?
“Maximus, I do not want you to leave nor marry another woman, so it’s a yes. I will be your woman and marry you” Luna said when their lips parted.
They both did not know that a lot of people passing by saw them kissing. They were kissing in front of the hospital where some patients and workers passed by. It is their fourth kiss.
“Really? I am happy” Maximus said with a smile. He looks like an angel today.
“So, tell me. Why did you not contact me for a year?” Luna wanted to know because that man made her think about him for a year. She almost thought that it was her fault that Maximus did not speak to her anymore.
Maximus felt so much happiness after he heard her say yes. Finally, all the hard work he spent during his stay at the hospital paid off. He thought that Luna would reject her since the woman always complained about him dating her even though they are not in a couple-relationship.
He only did what her father did to his mother so she will feel that she is important to him.
A year before he saw Luna again, he kept himself busy with work. He avoided investigating her even though he was scared that Luna might get sick during her work at the hospital. He wanted to make sure that she is safe, but he also does not want to get caught by her. He wanted Luna to miss him and to think about him. He did not know that he succeeded because, since the day he stopped sending messages or calls to Luna, the woman started to think about him.
“Give me a kiss, then I will tell you everything” Maximus teasingly said.
Luna blushed and felt embarrassed once again. This man did not know about the word “shame”. Definitely, he does not have that word in his vocabulary.
“Oh, come on, I already gave you my fourth kiss. The fifth will be on our wedding day” Luna said with a smile, reassuring him that she will definitely do what she promised.
Maximus suddenly looked at her in the eyes with disappointment.
“No, the fifth kiss will be today” he suddenly pulled Luna closer to him and kissed her lips for the fifth time.
“Mom, can you believe this? They are still the talk of the town even if it was three years ago.” Sarah showed the newspaper about Maximus and his mysterious bride to her mother.
It’s been three years since Maximus asked Luna to be his woman and his future wife. Until today, the whole city was actively waiting for their wedding. He wanted to finish his business first in other countries for two years before getting married. After two years, he immediately came back to prepare for their wedding. Maximus and Luna wasted their one-year dating and knowing each other more before their wedding.
“Finally, your brother is going to have a wife. Can you believe that the snob brother of yours will marry Luna? I cannot even believe Luna decided to marry him” Alina, mother of Maximus and Sarah, laughed and read the news about her son and the mysterious soon-to-be wife, Luna.
“I thought the wedding of my brother Maximus was a secret. How come it is spreading like a wildfire on the internet, magazine, news, and tv? Luckily, nobody knows Luna’s identity, or else the reporters will probably bother until the day of their wedding” Sarah giggled while imagining Luna caught by the reporters
Her brother was still a naïve man as ever.
