“I’ll deal with this matter later or whatever. Come on Luna, let’s go”, then Maximus fixes his suit.
“You fine? I’m really sorry for what I said earlier…”
“Forget that. Come on”. Maximus held Luna’s hand then went inside.
When they get inside, Sarah runs towards Luna and hugs her tight. She missed her friend so much. When she looked at Luna, she couldn’t help but praise her friend. She’s even more beautiful than the last time she saw her.
“Are you alright Luna? You look tired” Sarah said with a worried tone.
“I am fine Sarah.”
“Really? Hmmm, I think my brother did something to you again, did he?”, then Sarah looked at her brother.
“What?” Maximus asked.
“What took you so long? Did you do something to her? Oh my God, Luna, please tell me this is not true. If it is, I will literally kick his balls right now”
“What? Hey. Nothing happened. Chill. We just had a little conversation outside before entering here.”, Luna embarrassingly explained while Maximus stared at Sarah with a bad look. “We’re fine. I think it is because I really am nervous to know about my examination result”. she added.
But the truth is, she almost wanted to tell Sarah about her brother, his house, and his assistant.
Then, they went inside the kitchen.
“Oh, is this Luna?”
“Yes mom, she is”, Sarah said to her mother, Mrs. Frost
“You’re Mrs. Frost? Oh, I’m sorry Ma’am”, then Luna bowed to her. Then someone tapped her right shoulder.
“Don’t bow yourself to us, Luna,” a man in his middle age appeared beside Luna.
“Dad. You said you have met today, right?”, Maximus said.
“I canceled them all. I wanted to meet this young lady. Welcome to our home, Luna!”, then he kissed Luna’s backhand, signs of greeting and respect.
“Welcome, Luna,” said Mrs. Frost then she kissed her on her cheeks.
“Thank you, Ma’am and Sir. Nice meeting you two.”, Luna said while feeling a bit nervous.
“Please, call us Aunt Alina and Uncle Zarren or whatever you like”, said Mister Frost
“Uhm yes, thank you, sir, I mean Aunt Alina and Uncle Zarren Frost,” Luna said.
“Come, I already prepared the meals. Follow us Luna”, then they all walked towards the dining area.
Even the dining area is full of decorations and paintings. It really is like living in a renaissance era. Luna thought. Luna finally met the Frost family. She never expected that Mister and Mrs. Frost are both warm persons. They are different from Shawn’s parents. She felt comfortable with them.
“Oh finally. We’ve been waiting for 30 minutes” an old woman greeted them with a smile when they arrived at the dining area.
“Grandma, Grandpa, meet Luna”, Maximus said to both Grandpa and Grandma Frost.
“Nice meeting you Grandpa, Grandma”, Luna bowed her head then smiled.
“Such a lovely lady. You and Maximus looked like a good pair. Right honey?”, said, Grandma Frost.
“Yes, she is. Come, lovely lady. Join us”, said Grandpa Frost.
While eating, they asked about Luna’s life and Luna thought that the Frost family would judge her, but she’s wrong. She was even praised by Maximus’s grandparents for being a hardworking and strong woman. Despite the difficult life, she remained firm and kept her feet on the ground. She didn’t lie or hide anything from them about her. She’s comfortable while talking and laughing with them.
Sarah looked at her brother with confusion. She noticed that his brother was showing his cold side and he’s not in the mood again.
“Hey, what happened brother?”
“I wanted to impress our house to our guest, but I cannot believe that our house looks like a post office to her and you all didn’t tell me about this until Luna noticed it”, then he sighed.
They all stopped for a second. His family was surprised about what he said. They looked at each other for a few seconds until they looked at Luna. Luna was nervous.
Oh God, please save me. Are they going to get mad because of me? She thought.
When Luna really thought that she offended the family, suddenly, the whole family laughed except her and Maximus. She froze.
Why are they laughing? Is something wrong? Luna thought.
“Oh my, she even pisses our son. I can’t believe this” Alina praised her and laughed.
“I like it. You can make my grandson mad. You know, no one could do that except you.”, then Maximus’s grandfather laughed.
“So, it is true? Why no one told me?”, Maximus’s a little bit mad.
“Come on Maximus, it’s a surprise. Thank Luna for that. Besides, you liked it too”, said Zarren.
“Whatever. I’m mad at you all”
“Come on, Brother. Forget about that and besides, Luna’s feeling not good because of that, and maybe for the examination result”
They ate a lot of food the whole night until the family had announced her test result and congratulated her and Sarah. They both received a gift from the family. She never experienced this before.
“Congrats Luna! You really made it at the top one!”, Sarah said. Luna was shocked.
She looked at her cellphone and froze when she saw her name in the first place. She really passed the board exam. She’s now a licensed doctor. She is happy and proud. She cried for seeing and hearing such good news.
“Our son really had a good taste in women,” Zarren praised his son.
Maximus did not bulge, he just continued eating his food.
Luna cannot help but blush, while Maximus just showed his proud face.
When Luna realized that the Frost family was really different people than the other family, she could not help but look at Maximus. When both of their eyes met, she mouthed the word “thank you” to him.
Maximus saw a genuine smile. This is the first time he saw Luna’s true smile. His family made her smile. Luna’s smile made her really gorgeous. He did not know that he smiled back at her.
Maximus is smiling. The whole family saw him, and Luna smiled at each other and thought that it was his first time smiling after a decade.
They started to like Luna even more. This is their first time meeting her and she already got their favor. They celebrated their success with liquors. Luna really enjoyed her night with the Frost family. She got drunk too much liquor that causes her to be unable to walk properly. Sarah sighed when she saw her friend.
