MEGAN
I WASN’T thinking straight. I was still trying to wrap my head around everything. How the hell did I wake up lying next to Forrest? He’s naked, and his tattoo. God, his tattoo. And it was so sad that I couldn’t remember what happened aside from drinking with soccer players last night.
Right now, I was overly aroused and completely forget my hangover. My brain was hazy with lust, and I wanted him to do me and make me forget how angry I was at him.
His smell and his presence alone were overwhelming, and the fact that his massive hard-as-rock cock was thrusting against my wet core was already intoxicating my brain. And as fast as how he made me arouse, that was how quick he was of walking out of my life. Not again!
Terrified, I quickly dragged myself out of bed, propped my hands on my waist, and was ready to pull off my big girl’s pants. I was not wearing anything other than my black bra and panties, and who cared about having clothes right now? It was a matter of life and death—my heart and my relationship were at stake.
I rolled my eyes at the knock on the door. Camila just left, and I was sure Bianca and Blaine wouldn’t be the ones knocking. They had plans and wouldn’t waste time not to take advantage of the five-star accommodation not to put it into good use.
I drew a bracing breath. This would be another pep-talk. And let me guess, it was the boy’s turned since their wives couldn’t change my mind of going to the party with them. Gah, it was official, I hate men!
I opened the door. “I’m great. I’ve moved on. And by the way, he’s a dickbag and a suckass with a tiny dick. There’s a lot of hot Brits around the city to blow my brains out. He doesn’t care anyway. And didn’t fuck me hard enough to forget my goddamn middle name.”
“I was told that you are a very fascinating woman with a fiery spirit, wisecrack, and very opinionated,” said the woman with a fancy coat, gloves, and a hat. Oh, god! I’d been dreaming to wear a tiny hat like hers.
My eyes flared. My cheeks were flaming. I swallowed hard and tucked my hair behind my ear, suddenly feeling mortified. And I just said awful things to her son.
I cleared my throat. “More like has the dirtiest mouth. I’m sure you don’t believe what I said, right?” I flashed a guilty grin.
Her moves had me stilled and held my breath. Then she kissed me on my cheeks. “I hope you don’t mind if I come in.”
“Oh, god. Sorry, where are my manners? Please, come in.” I eased aside, allowing her to get in.
My heart was still in full throttle, and I didn’t know how to act or behave or what to say in front of her. The fact that her son and I were over, I didn’t know what to expect or the reason for her visit. How did she find me, anyway? Of course, She was a Kentworthry.
“When I heard you came with your friends, I was thrilled.” She stopped in front of the wide window.
“Can I offer you a cup of tea, Lady Kentworthry?”
“Don’t bother, dear. Thank you. I won’t stay long, but I’d love it if you will just call me Myra.” She smiled. I could see that it was sincere, yet it didn’t reach her hazel eyes.
“Myra, would you mind if I ask why are you talking to me? I mean why are you here? Your son and I were over. And I wouldn’t be coming to your party.”
“That’s the reason why I am here. I couldn’t find your RSVP, yet you flew from States all the way here. If you won’t be attending the party, my son will be devastated. He’s expecting you, Megan.”
“I made up my mind.”
” I love Forrest more than anything, and it pains me to see his reaction when your friends arrive, and you won’t be there.” It hurt to hear it, but if he would be devastated like his mother said, why he didn’t even reach out if he had still feelings for me.
“I’m sorry, but I have made my final decision. I haven’t traveled outside the States. That’s why I agreed to fly with my friends,” I admitted, a half-truth.
“You were already aware of Meadow. I hope you will give him another chance. I know you still have feelings for him, and I want to see you both happy, Megan.”
“You, arrogant, controlling, narcissistic, condescending prick! You, jerk, dickbag! How could you just show up here after you left me for your assholandia?”
Forrest stilled, dropped his hand from grabbing the doorknob.
“You’re so dumb, you bastard!”
He turned around, wearing a confused look on his face, but his eyes gleamed and mesmerized with amusement. “Arrogant, controlling, narcissistic, condescending prick, jerk, dickbag, dumb, and bastard? Wow, woman! That was quite a handful of names. I never heard any woman who swore a lot like you, and your propensity of directness and swearing fascinate me even more. Anything else in your vocabulary I should know about, Megan?” He sauntered toward the direction that had me stilled. “For the record, I was the one who received a call last night and left my own party to save your pretty arse. And by the way, I can’t wait to see my handprint on that pretty little arse until raw. Now say another word, but don’t blame me for your little predicament and repercussion.”
I blinked after he spoke, wiping my tears off my face. There was something in the way he talked that was very different from the Forrest back in New York. Not to mention he looked so hot with his jawline glittered with a five o’clock shadow.
My shoulders sagged in defeat as the avalanche of emotion smacked me in the center.
“Please?”
