“It is nothing” Shawn answered then helped himself inside the car. Liza did no longer ask Shawn because she was drowning in her own happiness that she defeated her mortal enemy, Luna.
While driving, Shawn was busy thinking about his strange dream last night, not listening to what Liza keeps telling him about. Shawn was being bothered by his strange dream last night. He saw himself giving flowers to Luna. In fact, he always dreamt about Luna but kept ignoring it, until he felt disgusted about her existence since then.
Shawn heaved a sigh then looked at the woman beside her, Liza. He smiled at her and decided to forget about his dreams and Luna. Liza is the woman who is in front of him now, he should not think about another woman.
“Thank you”, said Luna after Maximus opened the car door for her. Luna smiled because he treated her gently. Maximus waited for her to fully get inside the car before he went back to his seat.
Silence enveloped the interior of the vehicle without one of them speaking again. Maximus was observing her while she was looking outside the car. He felt sorry for them, He did not even expect to see that Luna and Shawn would break up because of a woman.
Luna thinks deeply, asking herself if her decision was right. Letting go of the man she loves, letting him love someone else, let him be happy with somebody else, letting him do things they did before with his new one, surrendering him with someone, and letting go of all things related to Shawn and save her heart or to just run away.
She was letting him go now…
While tears slowly rolled down again to her face, she made a promise to herself. A promise that she would never know about how long the pain will fade away before she completely moves on.
She will forget Shawn from now on.
Luna felt like her heart was about to burst because of the pain Shawn and Liza had caused her. She slightly heaved and calmed down the moment she noticed her tears. It is embarrassing to cry in front of Sarah’s brother.
Maximus was wondering why a woman like her was so desperate about Shawn, even Shawn pushed her away and chose the other woman. They have not been able to talk appropriately again since they were both busy with their own lives and then he will see him at the parking lot with the two women who are fighting over him. He just recovered from the accident.
Seriously, Shawn. Are you a womanizer? Maximus thought to himself.
Maximus and Shawn are childhood friends since their parents were partners when it comes to medicine related to business. They both grew up together and when they were still a child, they are just the two of them staying together and playing.
The two only separated when Maximus finished his business course earlier than Shawn who was taking his Medical Course. He wondered how Shawn got himself an affair with another woman after the unexpected incident and what he was disappointed at is that Shawn did not even tell him about his first girlfriend, Luna.
He remembered that Shawn has a girlfriend and he only learned Luna was that woman the moment he asked his assistant to do a background check about his friend Shawn since he has not heard anything about him lately and Luna, the woman he accidentally met.
Then, days had passed since the accident, he ordered his assistant to make an investigation about them again and discovered that Shawn got amnesia and forgot about Luna but not the woman who caused the accident, Liza.
Maximus knew everything but he remained silent because he could not bring himself to interfere with the problems of others especially if it has nothing to do with him and if he will not benefit from it.
Meanwhile, Luna could feel the cold and serious aura of the man sitting at the front. She felt embarrassed after he interrupted the scene between her and the new couple. She needs to forget Shawn for now since she already feels indebted towards Maximus who helped her a while ago.
While looking at Maximus’s back, she cannot help but admire the siblings. Sarah and his brother, both having the surname Frost, and known as the Frost siblings, were both blessed by good looks and wealth. Luna then thought that Sarah was so lucky for having a handsome brother although her brother was a bit serious. She cannot avoid being intimidated. She felt like wanting to get out of the car already because of his cold presence.
The moment she looked at the front mirror between the driver and passenger seats, she saw the sharp eyes of the man looking at her.
Why did the man keep looking at her?
She got nervous and anxious. Her heart started to beat fast. They stared at each other until she had the bravery to look away after a few seconds. She felt like the more she looked at his eyes, the more like she felt falling deep in his eyes. She then gets her phone to distract herself from the negative thinking she thought about the man.
“You looked so nervous, Miss Florence. Are you alright?”. The man suddenly asked. She heard the man’s deep and cold voice. She could still feel the man’s eye looking at her.
Why is she uncomfortable? Maximus was just asking him. However, the deep and manly voice of the man made her body melted. It was very pleasing to hear, but she needs to stop fantasizing because she was too afraid to talk to him back.
“If you are not feeling well, we can cancel the dinner and I will send you home so you can rest”, Sarah’s brother again asked with sincerity. Luna stared at him with a scarred face.
“Huh, I’m… I am fine. Thank you”, Luna replied, then looked at the car window.
Luna was a little bit surprised since Maximus mentioned his surname. She never mentioned her name to him before. She was thinking of Sarah already talking about her brother.
