When Lisa came back to the stage, she saw three men standing on the stage eagerly waiting for her. Giovanna looked at Lisa with excitement and said proudly, “These three handsome men are willing to sing and dance with you. Choose any one..!” She made a gesture for Lisa to have a good look on them.
Lisa stared at them blankly. There was only disgust in her eyes looking at those shameful perverts whose eyes were full of lust. Just then a sound of tapping came from the mic. Everyone looked at the direction and saw a tall, handsome man holding mic in his hand.
Augustus was standing between the crowd with mic in his hands. He looked at the stage and said, “Sorry to interrupt, but as everyone knows this party is thrown by my fiancé Giovanna. Should not I would be the one given the chance to sing for her?” He asked with his charming attitude.
When everyone heard him. All women gasped in excitement, as Augustus was handsome, charming and a rich powerful man. All the women had crush on him even though he is their friend’s fiancé. They would never let go a single chance to please him.
“Yes, why not?”
“You’re most welcome to sing”
“I would love to hear him sing”
“These three were not a match for him”
“Call them down now”
Everyone started talking. Augustus looked at the Giovanna innocently. Her face showed a hint of disappointment, she wanted to humiliate Lisa and let her lose the job but if Augustus will come up, he would definitely ruined her plan. But did she has any other choice left rather than letting him sing. She was trying to find a way to stop him.
“So what do you say Giovanna?” Augustus asked in the most mannered voice not giving her a chance to think.
All the people were looking at Giovanna. She nervously held her mic, gritted her teeth and than said, “How could I deny my lovely fiancé’s request but” she paused and pointed at those men “they had made a huge amount to participate here, I can’t ignore their generosity too.” She faked a smile and said softly.
“I want to donate 1 million lira for the charity group.” August said with determination and all the women started cheering for Augustus.
Giovanna had no choice she simply waved at those men to go down and then asked Augustus to join her on the stage.
Lisa who was standing at the corner and watching this drama didn’t understand what’s going on between these two? What do they exactly want from her? To humiliate her from someone else or humiliate her by themselves? She felt very regret at this moment why did she come to this party?
Augustus felt victory and walked towards the stage with his long and slender legs.
Lisa who wasn’t in good mood looked at Augustus approaching her step by step, his face was brightly lit up seems like he had achieved something precious.
Augustus went straight to the musicians and talked with them for a while. He then stood at the center of the stage and snapped his fingers.
Immediately all the lights went off in the garden and then a white light flashed on Augustus and then on Lisa. Everyone fell into silence. Augustus looked straight and started singing.

After that Augustus stopped singing and Lisa sang the last words by her own. She closed her eyes and sang:

With that, a drop of tear fell from her eye and she trembled.
She then felt something hot on her cheek, she opened her eyes and saw Augustus looking at his finger which just wiped her tear. For a second, Lisa was lost in his deep blue eyes. There was an indescribable feelings emerging in her heart. Augustus’s brows were tightly knitted controlling his emotions.
A huge round of applause were heard. Augustus hurriedly turned and stepped away from her. Lisa also looked around and saw many people applauding in awe and some women even wiped their tears overwhelmed by hearing Augustus sing. Lisa was also shocked, she had never imagined that he could sing that well.
Augustus thanked everyone and Giovanna immediately rushed towards him to get close but somehow Augustus maintained his distance from her.
The count down was going to begin. Everyone was so excited Lisa stood up and left the stage. Giovanna and Augustus were standing together with their back on Lisa so no one noticed her leaving.

HAPPY NEW YEAR…!!
Everyone around shouted in unison and firework started making the sky bright with lights. Lisa looked up at the fire works, she hugged her body tightly and felt extremely alone. She looked at all the happy faces around her and felt distressed. Today, she had nothing, no one around to love her, to care her or to cherish her.
She closed her eyes and tried to remember Tom at this moment, but when she closed her eyes, she saw blue deep gaze, it was Augustus’s handsome face.
She opened her eyes in panic. The fire work was still displaying and everyone was cheering with joy and happiness. She took a last glance at the stage and then left the party.

Augustus turned around to wish Lisa but there was no one behind. The chair was empty he felt worried “Where did she go?” He then hurriedly left the stage without looking back. Giovanna sensed something wasn’t right with Augustus so she quietly followed him. But unfortunately, she lost his sight in the crowd.
Augustus was searching for Lisa in the crowd, but he couldn’t find her. He then walked towards the gate and guard told him that a woman just left now in a taxi.
He frowned, “Why did she leave suddenly?”
He sat in his car and drove away. By the time, Giovanna reached at the gate He had already gone.
At The Cemetery
Instead of heading home, Lisa went to the cemetery. It was a sudden change in the weather and slowly rain started with heavy wind. Lisa stood in front of her husband’s tombstone, tears slightly flowing down her face.
“Tom, this is the first new year without you.” She sighed sadly while her body was trembling from heavy rain and she then knelt in front of the tombstone.
“Tom.! Why did you leave me? Why? Do you know I am going to lose our son’s custody?

Then she touched it and said, “It’s time Tom. I set you free. Goodbye, Tom.” She then walked out of cemetery feeling extremely light. She felt like, she had put down a big burden away from her heart, finally…
