Tory’s POV
After that embarrassing dream, I had four days ago, I made up my mind that Nate was a vampire. He was probably giving me vampire induced dreams because there’s no way in any lifetime that I would fantasize about Nate, let alone dream about him!
” Hey, Tory” Jake Simmons said to me as I shut my locker.
” Hi” I said indifferently as I scanned him from head to toe, he was one of Rex and Nate’s friends and he was good-looking too but I still didn’t feel comfortable talking to him no matter what the reason might be.
” Have you umm… You know seen Rachel today?”
Except the reason was Rachel!
” Nope, don’t you have her number?” I said, genuinely getting interested in where this conversation was leading to.
” No,” he said and immediately looked at me expectantly and I sighed when the realization of what this was about finally hit me.
Rachel would kill me for this but it’s high time she and Jake started talking, they’re obviously madly in love with each other and are just too egocentric around each other.
” Okay, gimme your phone” I said with an eye roll and he grinned as he gave me his phone, revealing his dimples and I smiled seeing why Rachel likes the guy. Apart from the fact that he was tall, handsome, and popular ( a fact that’s attributed to the fact that he’s close friends with Rex and Nate just like Zach is), Jake is nice, I won’t mind helping him out.
” Thank you Tory” he said as he grinned, suddenly realizing he was smiling stupidly, he cleared his throat and stopped smiling.
” Umm, you’re not gonna tell her anything right?” He asked.
” Trust me, that would involve her murdering me for interfering so no, I won’t”
He smiled and extended his fist for a fist bump and I obliged before he swiftly left. It’s amazing how I’m starting to get along with the popular kids in here. Something, I never intended to do or thought I could do.
” Tory darling!” Evangeline said to me and I turned around and flashed her a smile as I gave her back the already filled nomination slip.
” You’ve filled the slip, great! Today’s our meeting right after lunch”
” Okay, thank you”
” No problem-o, loving the look” she said before she dashed away to get nomination slips from other people. I watched as she reached where Rex and Nate were standing, it was by Isabella’s locker.
Rex’s eyes were on me and he smiled at me but I didn’t smile back because of Nate. I pretended to be searching for something before I opened my locker and searched for nothing in particular.
When I was done with fooling around, I turned to my right and saw Nate handing Evangeline a nomination slip. Was he nominated too?
” Oh, Rex you’ve changed your mind?” Evangeline seemed to say and Rex responded with a nod.
” At least Nate came to the rescue” she said as she tucked her hair behind her ear and Isabella glared at her for some weird reason. Evangeline didn’t notice though, she and Nate were too busy flirting, while I turned away because I was too busy having a heart attack.
” No no no no,” I said as I angrily slammed my locker shut and walked straight to the girls’ bathroom and got the shock of my life when I saw Jake and Rachel locking lips.
” Oh my God, Tory!” Rachel said, seeming a bit flushed as I shut the door and stared at her.
” Did you lock the door?” Rachel asked with a look of horror on her face.
” Yeah, Rachel you’re welcome” I said sarcastically.
” I’m guessing you don’t need the phone number no more” I said to Jake and he smiled sheepishly.
” You two are dating?” I asked, ” No, we were just caught up in the moment that’s all” Rachel said as she tucked the small strands of her pretty curly hair behind her ears and Jake’s face lost its color.
” Really? That’s all this was?” He asked as his brows furrowed while he frowned at her.
” I – ”
” – forget it, I’m the one who’s fucking up falling for a girl like you” he said, his face squeezed in a frightening frown before he stepped out of the restroom.
Rachel didn’t even say a word, she just walked out and headed straight for class with a frown on her face.

Lunch was over and thirty minutes break was added so we could have the meeting. Nate was flirting with some girl when I passed him and climbed the stairs to the board meeting.
When I entered, there were a few of them already seated, okay fine, all of them were there including principal Jenkins.
When I sat down, Mr. Jenkins peered at me for a while before he smiled.
” Is that you Tory?”
” Yes sir, the new me” I said with a fake smile and he nodded his head, the smile still on his face.
” Where’s Nate?” Dory, the student president of the meeting asked.
” I don’t know” I said almost angrily and they all turned to look at me.
” He’s downstairs with some girl, if you really wanna know” I said rolling my eyes and a few of them snickered while Mr. Jenkins shook his head disapprovingly.
He had gotten so many complaints in his early days as principal from students complaining about Nate bullying them but he never did anything to punish the boy. I’ve still not been able to figure out why.
The door opened and Nate walked in – swaggered in actually, before he sat down in the only empty seat which unfortunately turned out to be next to mine.
” McClain nice of you to join us” Mr. Alvarez said with a disapproving glare.
” Why you’re welcome ” he said as she sprawled on his chair before he looked at me through the corner of his eyes.
” Ponytail,” he said finally facing me and I couldn’t help it.
” Mind your business” I hissed and Nate chuckled.
I was highly embarrassed by my dream and the last thing I wanted was for him to be right here reminding me.
” So, let’s start! We need to come up with events for this year, but we have you all here as rep – ”
Nate was hitting his pen on the table, which was why Mr. Jenkins stopped.
” Will you stop that noise, McClain?”
” Yes….. Sir” he made sure he took his time before adding the ” sir”
It was obvious from their stare that they didn’t like each other.
” Which is why we have you guys as Representatives of the students. Now, here is a list of events that we would possibly be organizing and as usual the fourteen of you have to cast your v-”
Mr. Jenkins was again interrupted by Nate’s yawn and repeated tapping of the pen.
” Nate, how about you stop doing that?” Mrs. Donovan, the chemistry teacher asked and Nate obliged after winking at her.
” You’re all gonna cast your votes. So the paper is gonna be sent round by Troas, so do the needful”
Troas walked around the table, sharing the paper and when it got to Nate’s turn, he hesitated before giving it to him. That didn’t go unnoticed by Nate as he grabbed his and Troas gave me mine before he scrambled.
After a while of voting, sports events, fundraisers, and obviously prom was voted for.
The rest of the meeting consisted of Mr. Jenkins listening to ideas and suggestions of how prom would be organized.
No one dared to come up with ideas for sports, because of Nate and no one came up with anything for fundraisers because they hated how boring they always are.
” Nate, how about you tell us if you’ve got anything that might be useful to us” Mr. Alvarez snapped.
” Oh of course,” he said with a smirk on his face as he looked at me before he whispered ” this one’s for you Tory” and I shot him a glare.
” Tory and I discussed and we think that for the sports should be a match of boys and girls together teaming up for various sports like football, basketball, soccer, obstacle courses… you know”
” Oh, that sounds good… it’s fresh, I like it” Mr. Jenkins said and before I could get the chance to object, he had already stamped his approval to the words scribbled in his notepad, signifying that the talk was over.
” You bastard, you know I hate sports, I didn’t even vote for it to be organized this year!”
” That’s why it’s for you” he said smirking before he drank from the cup of water on the table.
